||| AKAMINE KAITO |||
Haru Yoshida ; Little Monsters
#Name ; Akamine Kaito
#Age ; 17
#Gender ; Male
#Sexuality ; Gay
#D.O.B. ; January 12th, 1987
#Occupation ; Part-Time Barista
#Year and class ; 3-B
#Height ; 5'10"
#Physique ; Kaito has a tall, slim build. He used to be in musical theatre and since he's only recently stopped (he hopes to get back into it soon, but he has other responsibilities to worry about), he still has the body of a dancer — lithe and slender, but defined from years of hardwork.
#Hair color and style ; Kaito's black hair is often slightly disheveled and unkempt, a perpetual bedhead that can never be tamed regardless of what he tries to do with it. His bangs are long, falling in front of his face. Despite it's messy appearance, his hair is soft and unknotted (usually).
#Eye color ; Grey
#Other appearance details ; Kaito almost always sits cross-legged, even in chairs. Because of how improper and rude this is seen as, people often mistake him for being a rude delinquent, when actually he just finds it comfortable. He also has a tendency to longue around on places that aren't meant to be longued upon, like counters and tables and rails.
#Clothing styles ; Kaito's go-to outfit is a random graphic t-shirt with a drawing of some western comic book character that nobody else knows on it, jeans that are cuffed at the ankle, and a slightly worn out jean jacket over a hoodie. He's got a pair of cherry red headphones that, if he isn't listening to music, are slung around his neck. For shoes, he usually just wears sneakers.
#Personality ;There's something distinctively moe about Kaito's personality.
At first glance, words like that are the last thing you would use to describe him. He comes across as more of a delinquent — with his sharp features and strange mannerisms and voice that sounds just a bit too deep for a teenage boy, people are usually intimidated by him upon first meeting. He's a blunt person, never one to pull punches when telling people what he thinks, but it comes from a place of wanting to tell others the truth because he cares about them. He doesn't like lying to spare peoples' feelings. Sure, it'll might them feel better, but it does more harm than good in the long run.
It's once you actually start talking to Kaito and seeing beyond first assumptions that you realize he's, in a weird way, really adorable. He's sort of like a puppy; bubbly and extroverted, and eager to make friends with whoever he may come across. He gets excited easily. He's prone to getting caught up in the moment during these times, so his excitement is expressed instantaneously, usually shown in the form of eye-squinting grins that could very well blind you if you stared directly at it or happy fidgeting because he's just so thrilled that he needs an outlet!
He's very passionate about music, and is almost always listening to songs in those headphones of his. His music taste could be considered by others to be quite strange. He'll listen to some mainstream Japanese songs, but mostly he prefers western music from the 80s and 90s. His grandfather introduced him when he was younger, and he developed a genuine interest. His favorite band of all-time is definitely Queen. He's listened to Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy more times than he can count, and sings it quite often. He's actually a pretty good singer.
#History ;Kaito has lived in Hikarizaka his entire life. He's also lived with his grandfather his entire life, or at least for as long as he can remember. His parents lost custody of him when he was still very young. Both of them were barely legal adults, still in college, and definitely didn't have the money or resources to take care of a child; so his mother's father was the one who took care of him. His parents didn't really put up any fight. They knew it was for the best.
His grandfather, Koizumi Daichi, was a strict and no-nonsense man with a mustache and gruff voice. Underneath his rough exterior, he was also a very kind man. He especially had a soft spot for his grandson and shamelessly spoiled him. He lived in America for most of his life, only moving to Japan after his daughter was born, and he often spoke English at home. Because of this, Kaito grew up with a pretty good grasp of the language.
Kaito had a fairly normal, easygoing childhood. He had friends, decent grades, and a love for music and dancing. There's nothing notable that really happened. There was, however, one weird thing: he was not interested in dating at all. Even when he was around the age that he should have started noticing girls, he could not care less. The only "girl problems" he had was worrying when his best friend would decide he'd rather hang out with a girl than Kaito.
He's yet to realize his sexuality, since romance just isn't really something that comes up a lot. But, who knows? Maybe he'll meet a cute boy who will make him realize that maybe the reason he doesn't worry about girls is because he isn't into them. The Roleplayer's Corner
#Nickname ; October
#Age ; 16
#Gender ; Male
#Roleplay Experience ; I've been a semi-literate roleplayer for the past three years.
#Experience with Clannad ; Watched the anime awhile ago.
#How did you find us? ; I don't remember, honestly. I saw you guys a few months ago while searching for something anime-related.
#Sample Writing ;Mars stared at the man — boy? He didn't look much older than he was, and wearing a school uniform too — with an expression of surprise; mouth slightly agape, brows furrowed and eyes wide, skateboard clutched in front of his body as though it could somehow magically shield them from the stranger who suddenly approached. It took him a few seconds to realize he'd even been spoken to. He was too busy freaking out over suddenly being bombarded.
"Um. . ." he hesitantly lowered the skateboard away from his body, tucking it underneath his arm. "Yeah, I think he went that way." He pointed towards a dark alleyway just a few feet away from where they were standing. "I could help you look if you want? I, uh, I've been told I'm kinda good with animals, so maybe he won't run away again? I dunno." He nervously tugged at a strand of messy hair and looked down. He could feel his face burning up, and he was so glad that blushing never really showed up on his skin.
