#A more thorough description ;Tiger has a couple of scars on him. One is by the neck on the left side, a cut scar, and then a longer scar diagonally across his chest from the left collarbone to the right side, bottom rib. There are a few things that vary with him from time to time. The prime example is a color scheme. Mainly, he wears black and red, but sometimes will go nature green and white. Almost always wearing his hat and formal clothing worn loosely, but when needed will wear something else, such as when swimming. He has blue contacts to wear as well, but wears them only on special occasions.
#Personality ;
Tiger is the sort of laid back, my pace sort of guy. He takes things as they come but is quite skilled. He is a Jack of all Trades who can do a lot of things but isn't great at anything in particular. His attitude toward others is of a friendly type, the kind which makes you think you can get along with him. He can sometimes be quite harsh and seem like someone you don't like at first glance, but that is because it is either for your own benefit, even if you don't realize it, or because he just has that too nice of a guy thing about him. He uses body language a lot to appeal to people and also to express himself, be he angry or accepting. He can read body language now but tries not to because it is sort of intrusive to read into a person.
Tiger is the person to lead by example. A real hands on person. If he tells you to run a dozen laps, he will do it with you. He pushes people and sometimes seems to have no structure to what he does as if going on a whim or making it up on the spot. More often than not, it works. He can be playful to others and well, and will give out some harsh jokes as much as he receives them. He will even do some pranks with students if he catches them, showing them how its done, within limits. With his carefree attitude, you wouldn't think him possible of getting angry, but when he is then you will know it. All in all, he is serious when he needs to be and gets the job done.
Tiger never likes to talk about his past. If people try ask about it, he will brush it off with things like "I don't look back at the past" or "We live in the now, not the past". He tries to avoid letting people see his scars to avoid being questioned, but when it does happen then he either says "It's nothing" or make up a random story which people usually wouldn't believe to make them think he was just joking around. He has an acute fear of hunting/combat knives, and also dislikes it when something shines in his eyes.
Note: Any situations that come up, I will add them in as they appear =P. I have the personality in my head, but it's difficult to word it.
#History ;
Brief Timeline:
- Raised in large City
- Great education
- Age 18, finish school, gets a job
- Establishes a very effective saving plan
- Age 23, Self Employed
- Age 23, later on, Meets Yuki
- Age 24, Yuki and Tiger marry, Yuki pregnant after Honeymoon
- Age 25, first child is born, a girl, Kaede
- Age 35, Yuki and Kaede are murdered, Tiger scarred
- With enough saved up, sells business, begins Teaching degree
- Age 37, now in Hikarizaka, teaching at the High School, PE
- Now, Lives by himself, wealthy from self-employment, doesn't touch his money, lives off what he earns from teaching with some going into his savings, not as much saved up before moving because he built a house as part of the urbanization of Hikarizaka, not too flash, not too barren.
Tiger was raised in one of the larger cities of Japan by two strict parents. The type who follow that "toughen the cubs up by throwing them off a ledge" sort of mentality in regards to children. It was a harsh upbringing, but he was thankful for it. It gave him the willpower and mindset to get through whatever he had to do. It also gave him a chance to fend for himself, have a taste of what he would have to do later in life. Like building up a tolerance for, say, poison. He had no other siblings, being an only child and stuck with his parents undivided attention. Sometimes, he did get sick of it, but who wouldn't? He had his share of rebellious phases, but never stuck with it.
Tiger had a successful school life. He may not have chosen the right subjects to get himself a career in life that he would love, but he still had a large skill set thanks to it. A wide repertoire to use. His education was among the top 10 in his class after each test, and he didn't get into much trouble. At least not that he was caught. A few crushes here and there, dating a couple of girls, but in the end a good school life. His trial and error tests of things to do and try and things not to do and try were also done at school. Barring drugs and alcohol. A few fights here and there, somehow over trivial things, but a good memory at the end of the day.
When Tiger left school, he was quickly employed in an average job, working 12 hour shifts, sleeping 10 hours, and keeping the last 2 hours as his getting ready and eating times. He often made fried rice because he could cook it with a surplus and eat it over one or two days. He made sure to put in enough nutritional value so that he wouldn't collapse during work. He stayed at the house of his parents because they moved overseas once Tiger was 18. After a year of working in this job and saving up, he jumped to another job with better hours so that he would have more free time. It took a while to find, but he got a job as an electrician. This job he stayed in until he became self employed.
Before becoming self employed, and just after leaving his first and most hardest job, Tiger followed some notes his parents gave him about saving money. Have three accounts. One for Living Expenses, another for Emergency Savings, and a third for Long Term, "Do Not Touch" Savings. He used most of this but did it the following way. Five Accounts. First is Living Expenses. Second is Short Term Saving/Spending. Third is Emergency Savings. Fourth is Long Term Savings/Investments. And the Fifth was a Retirement Fund. In order, the percentage of his income that went into them is as follows: 50%, 15%, 15%, 10%, 10%. He made enough with his income to achieve this, though the numbers were low to begin with. He didn't have much he wanted for himself in the short term, so that also built up over time.
When he was sick of working for another, Tiger made up a plan, worked from it, and became self employed as a General-Worker. His business was focused around doing any job people wanted, be it local, regional, national or even international. Taking job requests from individuals at first, it took off and started gaining some interest from companies who needed help, be it guidance or hands-on work when understaffed. It began with only Tiger, but after he got a good enough income, he hired a few more people with a wide variety of skills to get more things done. There were some he hired, and others he semi-trained to get them into other companies with no strings attached. There were Companies giving him contracts so that if he came across people who suited the job, they could be hired. All in all, it was a successful business. A jack-Of-All-Trades business.
The next year, while away on business, Tiger met a woman named Yuki who was looking for work. She ended up traveling back with Tiger and getting a job locally in a steady paying job and also being trained by Tiger to save money and so on. She also gave back some info to him that people were saying the business wouldn't last. And indeed, over the next 10 years, it did become increasingly difficult to run, especially while keeping so few people employed under him, but he managed. Back to the present time, Yuki and Tiger actually hit it off after a while, and got married. During their Honeymoon trip to Hikarizaka, a nice, quiet place, they 'did the deed' and found out a couple of months later that Yuki was pregnant.
Kaede, a healthy young girl, was born to Tiger and Kaede. She grew up to be more rebellious than Tiger was, but she did was she was told and helped her father with his work, with simple things like bringing him lunch or whatever else. Yuki was now helping with the business as well, seeing how difficult it was getting for Tiger. While Kaede was at school, Yuki and Tiger would be working their hardest to keep the business afloat. They were actually doing quite well, but Tiger had some high standards, setting the bar above the lowest so that they actually make a reasonable profit without overcharging people for their services. And like that, Kaede became 10.
For Kaede's birthday, Tiger and Yuki got some time off work to go to one of the more well known restaurants for dinner. They stayed and had dessert as well, and one of the waitresses, as well as the manager, came to talk to Tiger. The waitress had been trained by Tiger a year or so back, and the Manager was a customer who knew Tiger personally from all of the business they did together. Some of the Trainee's of Tiger's would be sent to the restaurant to get some work experience. On the way home, walking down the street at night, a stranger blocked their path. It was obvious what this person wanted. Money. The person attacked with a knife and Tiger stood in the way to protect his family. He got a cut along his left side by the neck, but the main one was a large gash across the chest that made him fall to the ground.
The rest will remain crystal clear forever to him, but simply put, his wife and his daughter were murdered in front of his eyes. The reflection of light off the knife would shine in his eyes, and brought about a mental disorder where if something shined in his eyes, he would remember that night. He also has a slight fear of hunting knives now. A few days later, the killer was caught and arrested, but committed suicide in his cell. Businessmen who knew Yuki, people who worked with and knew Tiger, Tiger's employees and also Kaede's school friends attended the funeral. At the end of the funeral, Tiger told everyone that he was giving up his business and passed it on to his most trusted employee. The business people there gave their blessings and said they would also pitch in and help. They also gave Tiger some funding to help him carry on with whatever it was he would do.
With his business gone and nothing holding him back, Tiger started fresh. There were some things that changed about him though. He wore a black and red semi-formal clothing every day except when not necessary, wore red contacts, and increased his fitness. On the night of the murder, Tiger was wearing blue contacts which he was testing for a company, and a white and green formal attire, so he wears the reverse day after day, unable to let go of the past. Even to this day he wears them. On special occasions, he wears the green and white attire with blue contacts, and also got back into his habit of fried rice, not every day like in the past, but quite often. He began studying at a university to get himself a teaching degree in Secondary School/High School.
After getting his degree in secondary school teaching, Tiger moved to Hikarizaka and began teaching PE there, becoming the adviser for the Dance Club. While he was studying and training, he actually had a large portion of his savings go into buying property in Hikarizaka and building a house there. It was a four bedroom house, each room sized for a double bed, with two bathrooms, a small lounge, a large lounge which looked like people could sleep in it, a reasonable kitchen and dining room, and so on. It was also a two-story house made western style. The house was built in a semi-rural area because it was a wide open space which was to be developed later, so he wasn't quite in with the older houses. He had a driveway with a car in it, which he rarely used, preferring to walk, run, or bike. He had a bit of a front hard for people to play on, but for now only had the metal fence with a flowerbed on the yard to look the fence look neater.
Tiger still sticks to his saving plan, with the percentage ratio 65:10:10:10:5. mainly because his living expenses were more now that he was supporting himself only. His short term savings are now quite low, as well as his emergency and some of his long term savings. He got out a loan with the bank to build the house and now pays it off with the money he earns, which is about 20% of his living expenses. The rest is used for power and water, as well as whatever else he needs. He still has at least 1,000 in his emergency, about 50,000 in his long term (took out half for house, so was around 100,000), and short term he tries to keep around 200 in for personal pleasures. He does some work on the side as a Jack of all Trades like previously to get him some extra money here and there, but lives mostly on his Teaching Income. And so, we reach the current date.
Note: I don't know the ¥ value in the set year, so I just took a guess. Also, it IS possible to save up 100,000 in a few or more years, as I learned in my Work Mentoring course, learning about saving, both short and long term. The Roleplayer's Corner

------------------------------
"Yuki~, Kaede's picking on me~"
Tiger complained, mimicking the voice of a little child being picked on. They trio were taking their semi-scenic stroll home after dinner when Yuki said it smells a bit funny in the area. Kaede took that opening and said it was daddy who smelled bad. Tiger, in his happy mood, didn't feel like giving a factual response, and so retorted like a child being bullied, complaining to his mother. Or in this case, his wife. Looking at his ring on his left ring finger, he smiled as he looked at it, holding Kaede's hand in his right, Yuki on her other side. There were street lights on and building lights were on as well, but the street was still dimly illuminated, the clouded moon providing no beneficial radiance for the night. Hopefully it wouldn't rain. The three smiled at each other as they walked on, talking casually about different things.
"Oh? So my little girl wants to eat all the cheesecake in the world like the one she had at the restaurant? Well, you better start saving up your money then."
A light, uplifted voice, full of cheer and encouragement. A bright smile across his face. He had a single glass of wine with dinner so it helped him loosen up a bit and not be so strict. Yuki smiled as she talked, talking brightly with Kaede when asked why mommy called daddy "Tiger". That nickname was made by Yuki and upheld by her and himself. It came about when Yuki saw how Tiger worked within his Business as a self-employed person. She had some interest in animals and read about Tigers. She related Shō to a Tiger, and thus gave him the nickname. Well, he didn't dislike, so it ended up sticking. Eventually others ended up calling him it as if it was his real name.
"Snow, don't go teaching my jewel any bad habits now. Like how you nickname every person mentally whenever you meet them for the first time."
He made the annoyed tone of voice and combined it with a sort of smirking face to give it form as a joke. A simple sarcasm mixed in too. It truly was a wonderful night, and a great moment to take a walk. Tiger began calling Yuki "Snow" from time to time. He thought that since she had an English nickname for him, he may as well have an English one for her. His sense of naming wasn't all that great and so he just used the English translation of her name. Yuki ended up naming Kaede because Tiger had some really odd ones come up when he thought of names. Smiling at the two, Tiger looked ahead on the footpath to see someone standing underneath the streetlight where he would be visible.
Tiger had no idea who it was, but he knew they were standing there visible for a reason. They had a hood over their head and one hand behind his back, the other in his pocket. Tiger stood in front of his family and looked at the man oppressively, using his body language to show intimidation. All he heard in reply was that cliche line used by street robbers. "Gimme your money." Tiger didn't reply. He just waited. Yuki was holding Kaede in her arms in case something happened. And then something did. The moment the sight of the knife came out from behind the man's back, Tiger rushed forward. He had to disarm him somehow. He had some experience fighting, though never against an armed person. All he could do was try. The knife was brought up hurriedly from the fright of having Tiger rush. It nicked and made a wound deep enough to scar on the left shoulder, close to the neck, but it didn't pierce. Only cut.
After struggling with the guy, Tiger headbutted him while holding his wrists, only to be kneed in the gut, stagger back, and look at the attacker. Getting upright as quick as he could, he had no time to dodge or block it. He could only fall backwards and hope it didn't go in too deep to cause some serious damage. The attacker slashed downwards and cut down Tiger. Kaede screamed as she saw the blood of her daddy. Yuki's face went pale and she went weak in the knees. Falling to her knees, she took Kaede in her arms to try protect her as the attacker approached. She couldn't run. She was too afraid. Tiger could only watch as his wife was stabbed, not even a scream from her as she held it in until her dying breath. Then before his eyes, he saw his daughter, eyes wet with tears as she tried to wake her mommy whose eyes were void of life. Her cries were cut short. The glint of light reflected off the partially red knife, shining in Tiger's eyes. His voice wouldn't even come out. His mind broke and switched him off, rendering him unconscious.
Tiger woke up slowly in hospital a day later, chest burning with pain. He could see both his wife and daughter sitting beside him, greeting him with a smile as he woke up. He smiled lightly back to them, but their image began to fade. They weren't there. His mind was coming to terms with what had happened. But his heart was still scarred. One that he felt wouldn't heal. Sure, his physical pain would disappear, the medical fees would be paid, but he would be alone. A few tears trickled down his face. He lifted his arm and placed it over his eyes, letting the water flow as he bit his tongue to numb the pain in his heart. The lights of his life. The sparks of joy. The white which brightened his heart. Gone. Truly gone. Tiger's light had disappeared, taking with it the good times, leaving only bad memories. A Black Tiger.
