Aito stands at five foot eleven inches, a couple inches taller than his twin Ami. He's very lean from martial arts and weighs in at about 132 lbs. He has soft pink hair with reddish tints. Aito Katayanagi has light brown/reddish eyes, the color of clay mud, if you will. His jaw is well defined and shoulders wide, yet constantly slouched when sitting. Aito's hair is cut short enough to still look a bit messy, but it doesn't go past his ears in length. Nose straight and always seen with a smile, Aito has the appearance of a happy-go-lucky teenage boy ready to conquer the world.
As far as his uniform goes, Aito hates it. He feels it stifles his creative freedom as a student and often finds little ways to make it his own, like putting a pin on his tie or rolling his sleeves. He often gets yelled at for the latter. Aito doesn't like the way he looks in the school uniform. Both the color of the yellow blazer and the blue slacks are at odds with both his pinkish-red hair and his personality. On the breast pocket is the insignia of a second year, though he feels he's got the learning capacity of a ten-year-old. Whenever he can, Aito takes the jacket off, complaining of it restricting his movements.
Whenever he gets the luxury of being out of the wretched uniform, Aito clothes himself in what one would consider slightly stylish for a male 16 year old. His mother pays money to them out of guilt, so he spends it on clothes and other odd assortments, like watches or wristbands. He is fond of jackets, but ones that are free and not restricting like the school one. He loves to wear jeans of all kinds, claiming they help center one's self. Aito prefers to wear graphic tees and has an affinity for large headphones to listen to music while he's training, which his sensei frowns upon greatly. His hair is always in a disaster state and he totes around a couple pairs of beat up shoes as well.
Personality:

To strangers, or classmates that don't really know a whole lot about Aito and his life, he's simply the goofy clown. He loves to tell stories to the class, generally get the teacher off track and maybe play a few harmless pranks. He's all about cracking jokes at his friends, but more often than not they are targeting himself. He's always wearing a smile and eager to help out with anything that needs to be done, but he can't help you with school work. If you’re a semi-attractive lady he'll try (and fail) to flirt with you. He's quite simply the goof-ball. He seems to have a good work ethic in everything and a very open demeanor, making it easy for him to make 'friends.' Aito is known to be overly protective of his sister, Ami as well.
To people who know or have known him growing up, they catch more of his folly and insecurities. Aito cracks jokes at himself to make light at his 'incompetence' in the classroom. He's social and tries to be that guy everyone likes and enjoys hanging around because he feels like he needs to have approval. If he isn't praised for his academic life, maybe having a good amount of friends and always making light of a situation would get him liked. He gets quite stressed over school but never puts any of his troubles on his friends. Rather, he takes theirs on himself and tries to help solve them in his own way. He's clever, but he's not book smart. He's helpful, but he's too honest sometimes. His jokes can come off harsh, his pranks? Maybe a bit uncalled for. In trying to placate everyone, where is Aito himself?
Aito is hiding within himself. He's tired of always fighting against himself and trying to decide the winner. The part of him who jokes around and loves to be loved? Or the part who acknowledges the faults and is more serious? He doesn't know, and therefore is very confused about who he is on the inside. He's caustic of himself and often feels like people compare him to his sister. He is quite bitter at the divorce of his parents and has anger issues that no one but the closest see. He feels as if he's lost control of who he is. He's all of these statistics, this person who wants so badly to be liked that they lose sight of themselves in the process. Aito finds solace in talking to or about Ami, whom he seems to hold a great deal of respect towards. He keeps much of his life a secret from his friends and tells them enough to make them think he's a pretty a-okay guy. No one needs to know all of his flaws. He doesn't want to appear weak. Shamelessly flirting with girls he knows he'll never get and maybe, perhaps getting one to talk back to him is like a personal achievement. He's not interested in a relationship, but likes ruffling some feathers to make him forget about his troubles.
Speaking of feathers, Aito is rather irrationally afraid of geese and his personality changes to paranoid and nervous after he sees one. He is convinced it follows him for a good amount of time and acts accordingly. This is due to a family trip to the park once where a goose bit his hand when he tried to pet it and flapped at his 5 year old self. He knows it is irrational, but never got over how terrifying geese are. They're the devil incarnate to him and he'll try not to scream and try his best to get away from them. He feels it's not good to let people know of this fear and tries to hide it from everyone. It would change how they saw him if they knew how he acted around the winged menaces.
History:

Aito Katayanagi was born to Cheryl Katayanagi, a english/japanese translator who worked as freelance to different companies and her husband, Daisuke Katayanagi, a successful business entrepreneur Aito was born about a minute after his twin sister, Ami. Both shared traits of their foreign born mother, despite being born in japan and having a larger japanese history. Still, the twins felt very at home in Japan. The first few years on the family was tough. Daisuke, the 'father' figure was always gone on business trips and the like, while the mother had to work odd hours and often was angry with their father. It didn't take long for Ami and Aito to figure out that the noises keeping them awake at night was their parents fighting over anything and everything, especially finances.
Despite being the younger of the two, Aito quickly deemed himself the leader and took it upon himself to make sure his older sister had fun times. She didn't understand it at first when they were growing up, as she often daydreamed and mixed those up with reality. Aito, who was great with understanding people, knew that what was happening between his parents was not good and tried to shield Ami from it. Aito and Ami grew up to be very close and played the parts of bipolar twins well. Often their moods would switch from geting along great to being at each other's necks for a good portion of the night. Their spats as children only added fuel to the fire concerning their parents. Though Aito didn't see it, Ami had recognized the problem too, but was coping through other means. Aito was coping by busying himself and adventuring, while Ami stuck to drawing and painting. One twin was loud and social, the other quiet and reserved.
When they turned 12, the parents finally decided the best thing to do would be to divorce. They did this very unceremoniously and caused a great deal of strife on the twins. Their mother wanted them to live with her, and their father, finally realizing that maybe the children would be taken from him, entered the fight as well. The end result was a custody battle for the children and visiting hours from their mother. Aito was very attached to his mother, and was quite distraught when the judge ruled in his father's favor. Still, he was going to stay with Ami, so he dialed his emotions down.
Growing up with only one parent turned out to be lonelier, since the whole ordeal made Ami shut herself inside of her art. He still hung out with her, but began branching out as well. It wasn't just the Katayanagi twins now. Aito became more of a social butterfly and enjoyed the company of others. Still, he preferred Ami over all of them, but he could genuinely have a good time. Sure, he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he cracked jokes and told stories. No one hated the good-hearted jokester. Throughout his years he took many martial arts as a way to relieve his anger about his parents and Ami being so reserved. He tried hard to make sure Ami felt welcome with his new friends, but it seemed she always preferred the canvas to them.
It was no question that they were to go to the same high-school together, and their father sent them off to Hikarizaka High School, the same one he attended when he was a student. Due to his Dyslexia, Aito has found it hard throughout his academic career to focus in class, and often enlisted the help of Ami before. Entering the high school was the first year the two were not in the same class, causing him to feel more stress and to hide it by cracking jokes and trying to be the light-hearted student everyone thinks him to be. He barely earns a passing grade in his classes and often complains about working for his grade, despite the large amount of time he devotes to it late into the night because of his insomniac tendencies.

Alexander wasn't used to heavy lifting. Sure, he could do it but... where was the fun in physical labor? He'd rather be trying to crack the pentagonal rubiks cube he bought vintage off of I-bay, the online bidding place. Some fool tried to bid him up, but Andy quickly put a stop to that by contacting the seller and adding a little 'trade' in for the object. Gone were his custom made 3-D glasses for watching older movies. He didn't mind so much, seeing as he still had one or two more pairs back at home. Back when he didn't hide his possessions from others, Andy used to make all sorts of cool things. The glasses, for example, he made with one of his father's friends one afternoon while his father was in a meeting.
The seventeen year old Winston boy carried his suitcase into what would be his dorm room this year. This was Andy's third year at the academy, and he was looking forward to receiving more recognition about his role as a golden student. Relaying the praise to his father would be expected, and well, consequential if it didn't. Alexander Winston II had very high expectations of his son. Andy failed to deliver once, and never wanted to again. He had to be the best for his father. He needed to have a legacy.
That was what the last two years were about, starting his legacy. Andy had done a good job of it too. He got super-involved at first, and then slowly took himself off of select jobs/committees/sports until he could manage last year. This allowed him to meet a lot of people and impress them with his 'natural' charm. If it wasn't for the fact I could act, I'd be screwed. Really, the Alexander that everyone saw was a part of him, and sometimes it was dominant. Other times, he was his space-invader lovin', pac-man enthusiast who would spend hours watching anime late into the night or buying rare retro things off of the internet. This year he was on Student Council and took the job of treasurer. Despite popular belief, Alexander was also quite good in science and math, which only strengthened his need to hide his love for all things geek. The masses wouldn't approve.
After putting his extensive wardrobe in the closet, Andy did the short walk to his car, a nice looking, slightly expensive thing that his mother insisted he get, and grabbed two large boxes. Stacking them on top of each other, the junior could feel the strain in his legs as he picked up the heavy load and started the trek up to his dorm. Luckily, he had an earbud in from the music device strapped to his arm pushing classical music like Bach into his eardrums. Music solved everything. Well, music and a marathon of final fantasy games for his game-cube. It took a bit of maneuvering to get the door open. His visibility was shot though. When he went into his room and shut the door behind him, his first step was on a lost shoe, laying forlorn on the ground.
It was safe to say that Andy went down.
The boxes toppled and he landed on top of his collection of antique batman comic book collection. Those were priceless! Stifling a gasp, Alexander quickly rolled off of his boxes to the side, straightening out his v-neck purple shirt and grey skinny jeans before looking down at his boxes. Grabbed the glasses off of the floor from when he fell, he slid them on again and went about straightening a box. The aftershock of his fall also caused some textbooks standing on the sides precariously on the desk to come falling down, making a second large thump. Cursing to himself, Andy started to go through his boxes, holding all of his secret things that he took pride in...and shame. These were the things he would have to hide later on if he received a roommate.
Then came the knock.
Andy stopped in his tracks as a distinctly female and unfamiliar voice came after the knock in the silence he created. “Is..someone in there?! Do you need any help?” After a short gasp, Alexander shot up and started to try and hide things, closing boxes and shoving things like his game consoles underneath beds and vintage t-shirts advertising indie games into drawers. He soon issued a panicked response, hoping that he could stall the person should she decide to open his door.
"O-oh, I...I'm fine! And I'm in here..but no help, I'll....be out in a minute!" Andy didn't want to miss his chance to meet the girl, first new friend of the year, but he didn't want her walking in on all of his geeky glory. That would definitely not be good for his 'legacy'. After shoving the boxes to the side, Alexander hastily made his way to the door, almost falling victim to the shoe again as he swung the door open, a practiced 'slightly embarrassed' face adorned the blonde headed teen as he greeted the girl.
"Hello! I'm Alexander Winston! Are you new here at the academy?" Alex reached up to move some hair to the side that would allow her to see his eyes better and likewise when his hand brushed his glasses. Was he still wearing the dark blue blocky frames? Having a panicked moment, Alexander reached up to pry them off of his face before realizing that he needed to dig out his contact solution if he did. As much as he hated it, Andy would have to wait until the girl left or to when he could go into his room before he could take the glasses off. The earbuds hung down his shirt, and Alexander initiated more communication to the girl, feeling that this was his first 'act' of the year. And what a person to meet too! She had a quality about her that made him feel very calm, and very at ease. He didn't want to jump to any conclusions though.
"I hope you are finding the academy to your likings. If you need any help, I personally offer to take the position of guide/handy-man for anything you might need." Hopefully he wasn't coming on too strong, so Alex leaned back on his door-frame.
