Description:
Maiza is a tall student standing at about 5'9''. He has a rather scrawny figure, weighing in at 125, with dark brown hair, medium cut. He also sports dark brown eyes. He has a burn scar on his right forearm which he attained from a bad case of bulling.
He wear the normal attire of his school uniform, which is a white dress shirt and red tie covered by a tan jacket and blue pants. His casual attire is an assortment of long-sleeve shirts and jeans. He always has a white scarf on when outside of the school, due to it being the only thing he brought with him from the orphanage.
On the rare occasion where he does wear a short sleeved shirt, he has his left arm completely bandaged for two reasons. One, it usually keeps most people away because they think he is a thug who hurt his arm in a fight, allowing him to be alone, and two, he is too self-conscious to show off his scar in public.

Personality:
Maiza is quiet, withdrawn, and untrusting. He often tries to keep others out of arms reach and tries to interact with people in general as little as often. Due to his past bulling, he absolutely is afraid of anyone labeled as delinquents. As well as a part of his bullying he keeps his hidden talent of cooking a secret. He also loves birds due to the freedom they have when they fly.
He never had a girlfriend, but he believes him self to be forever alone due to constant bulling. In short, he tries not to do anything with women because he believes that he has no reason to be near them, and is very caught off guard when women approach him. He came to hate crying, due to the fact that when he would cry, bullies would just keep hurting him more.
He currently has a dim view on life, wondering what the point of his is. He often hangs around high places because he feels light up high, like he could escape all of his worries simply by jumping and fling away. The only reason he keeps going on living is because he refuses to die without giving something meaning.
He has recent parental issues which will be explained in the History. He also has a berserk button worth mentioning. When someone tries to hurt someone he actually considers a friend he lashes out violently, finally finding the courage to stand on his feet. Though this has never really happened as he has never had someone he considered a friend. He is easily caught off guard when someone he doesn't know approaches him.
He has immense trouble saying no, thus he is rather submissive. For example , he would quickly give away his money to someone who asks him for it. He also has a tendency to look down when walking, causing him to run into people and things. He often hangs around arcades playing fighting games to relieve some stress. He is also very apologetic.
One final note, he is quite sensitive about his burn and freaks out when someone grabs his left arm.

History: Born in Hiroshima, Maiza was given up to an orphanage, simply because his mother, a 16 year old, refused to take responsibility for the life she created. At age 7, he was adopted by the Kirisaki's a family who lived in Gunma, the father being a Ornithologist and the mother being the typical stay at home mother. When he began to start school there he became victim to bullying.
They would kick him in the chest and legs, where the bruises would not show. They would taunt him and call him horrible names simply for being the new kid. His parents eventually found out about the bruises, but Maiza insisted that he fell a lot and that he was clumsy. He was afraid that if he told them, the bullies would hurt him more
One day in class(Maiza, age 12 by now), they had to put down things they liked to do in their free time. Maiza liked cooking ever since he learned how to from his adoptive mother. One of the bullies found out what he put and spend the word causing the bullying to increase, which caused him to question his sexuality.
Eventually the bullying got out of hand. At age 16, Maiza was in chemistry working on a Sodium Hydroxide solution expirament, which the teacher warned was dangerous combination as it could cause a permanent chemical burn. After hearing this, three bullies waited for the teacher to leave the class room for a moment and went over to Ryan. They slid up his shirt and poured the chemical solution on his left forearm, causing permanent damage. Unable to hide the evidence of his injury from his teacher when he returned, the teacher called his parents, who then took action. They reported it to the school and began to pack to move to a better place for the sake of Maiza. The bullies were expelled from school.
After buying a place in Higashiosaka and enrolling him in the school there, they began to pack. While packing, Maiza discovered a secret about his adoptive parents: An urn and some documents that indicated that they had a son who died to cancer a year before they adopted him. Torn by the fact that he was nothing more than a replacement to them, he never brought it up to them, in fear that they would throw him out and get a new son. He was afraid to be alone.
Even with all the crap in his life, Maiza does cherish two sets of memories in his life. One, is when his adoptive father would take Maiza to the park and teach him about birds, which is were Maiza got his passion for them. They would laugh together and tell jokes. The other happy memories are from when his adoptive mother would teach him how to cook. She would teach him how to cook rice just right, and how nutritional value is important, and Maiza would listen carefully with absolute wonder. Though, he is beginning to question whether or not these warm moments of his life were genuine and not them trying to use him as a proxy worries him, it still gives him enough hope to live on.
And so, here he is. Now attending high school at a new place in a new beginning. How his future will shape depends heavily on him and those around him.

Maiza stood at the top of the roof of his high school. Looking down he could see the students walking around campus, laughing and having fun. Above, he saw the birds flying high, freely. Maiza looked forward and closed his eyes. He breathed in a nice breath of fresh air and asked himself, "If I step forward, will I fall? Or will I sprout wings and be free?"
Maiza walked slowly to the edge of the building, stopping right at the ledge and looked down. Below were the academies steps, each step just a line from where he was standing. Maiza shivered as a small gust of wind blew at him. He clutched his left arm as he felt it tingle. He closed his eyes and released another deep breathe.
As Maiza prepared to take a step off the ledge, he opened his eyes and saw a girl with silver hair look at him from the ground. She gave him a sweet smile that warmed him on the inside for a reason unknown to himself. He let out a sigh and turned his back to the ledge walking back to the door.
For some reason, Maiza suddenly felt as though there may be hope for his life. As Maiza walked the school's halls he began to ponder the warm feeling he had just felt. Looking down with his eye's closed he accidentally ran in a girl with long purple hair.
Quickly snapping back to reality, he bowed and exclaimed with deep fear of the girl getting mad, "I am so sorry!"
