Alejandro was sitting at the archery range on his knees meditating. Alejandro always did this before he started shooting his bow. Breathing in and out listening and fallowing his breath. This was the only way Alejandro was able to completely calm himself. When he was finished he slowly opened his eyes blinked a few times before slowly pushing himself to his feet. Alejandro was dressed in traditional Kyudo uniform which is consisted of short-sleeved white keiko-gi that is held in place by his father’s favorite black and white obi , a black hakama, and tabi socks. Alejandro had picked up his gloves that were sitting next to him.
These were Kyudo gloves much different than any normal gloves since the glove was only used for Kyudo. Alejandro preferred using a 3 fingered glove over a 4 or 5 fingered glove. Alejandro like to feel the arrow in his fingers. Alejandro quickly put the glove on his right hand in a few quick motions since do this was like tying his shoes no problem. After he finished putting his glove on Alejandro walked over to where he had left his bow and arrow.
His yumi or bow was inside a beautiful Yumibukuro that had a picnic blanket pattern of pink and blue squares like the coat he had hanging in the locker room at the moment that his mother had made for him. Alejandro quickly took the yumi out. It was quiet large since it was a little over 3 feet tall. This kind of bow was called a yonsun-nobi and being the 3rd largest yumi to use.
Alejandro walked over to his normal shooting spot that was dead center of the range. He closed his eyes as a sudden breeze blew passed him blowing his bangs to one side. Alejandro had his hair tied up into a tight bun since it was too long to keep down. His face was shown off more so he angles were more defined since they were always hidden beneath his long hair. The Japanese Italian opened his eyes and got into his stance.
He reached down grabbed an arrow and placed it onto the bow. Alejandro let his heel slide slightly backed as he focused on the target. Alejandro let out a breath and in one quick motion he pulled back the string, aimed and fired. The sound of the air broke through the silence in the archery hall making a wiz sound and then a thud as it sunk dead center into the target. Alejandro let out the breath he was holding in relieved that he had hit the center on his first go. This is the reason why he was captain. He was the third best last year behind the captain and vice captain who at the time were 3rd year high school students or seniors.
Alejandro did it again and again. Ever other side he would hit the dead center missing the other arrows that were already there by just a few centimeters. After the former blond finished shooting off 8 arrows he had let himself breath freely. Alejandro was happy he had found Kyudo with the help of his father who was the former Kyudo champion here over 20 years ago.
The only mutual thing between Alejandro and his father was Kyudo. The two of them would go out to the archery rang they had behind their house and compete against each other to see who can put the most arrows in the target in a minute. Alejandros best was 4 arrows while his father’s was 7.
