oh, the inevitability. Fujibayashi Ryou sat in her seat, in her classroom, with the face of utmost seriousness. It was already a few minutes past dismissal, and the place was already quite vacated, except for the lavender-haired class representative and her... minions. Well, these people who are being jokingly referred to as minions, huddled around Fujibayashi's seat, were here for one thing; fortune-telling.
The bashful Ryou may not have the aura of mystery, and certainly, the ambience of her desk was not drenched with some foreign incense, but she... she had managed to gain her own respectable following. There were mostly girls, though the odd boy, perhaps a companion or friend of one of the girls, would be around, trying to see from the furthest point of the clumped circle. The audience did not seem to mind that after some minutes, there might pass some security personnel (though sometimes they were more lenient.. or more absent) who would coax them to come down and leave the premises of the school. After all, this was a classroom, not a clubroom. There must be some reason why a lot of the owners of these starry eyes look intently upon this makeshift soothsayer.
At any rate, the normally demure Ryou was in her element. The more perverse might try to launch a joke on her or something, but would find her stoic during these situations. Her focus was on her deck of playing cards, as she arranged them, shuffled them, as if the balance of the whole world relied on doing the arrangements in the most proper manner. This kind of event was hers. She was the master here.
The sound of flicking, of the scrambling, finger against card and card against card, that was what pervaded the silence of the room. There had been more fortune-telling sessions during the day, but the mystique of the after-dismissal session was the best, with the colorful rays of the sunset offering half-lighting. Sometimes, one could almost believe that we lowly, base humans could reach the mystical with the most mundane of resources... randomization.
Ryou's current customer had the most bated breath amongst the audience. Some were veterans, some were amateurs, but more or less the group was... erm, informed, of the uncanny, and slightly twisted accuracy of Ryou's fortune-telling. Well, there were exceptions to the rule, people Fujibayashi Kyou had specifically ordered the multitude not to tell (like Okazaki Tomoya, for instance), for fun, and sometimes so that they would experience it firsthand for themselves. Well, that was almost the same.
Then, there were the real first-timers, as the sharp backfire of Ryou's predictions were some sort of sacred secret amongst her followers. Okay, so this was sounding like a cult. Ryou spoke softly, and the crowd seemed to tighten to hear what she said, something that often only the nearest succeeded in, though it would spread around later. Ryou did this so that (theoretically) the subject would be the only one to hear his or her 'fate'. She looked a little grim, and Ryou wondered a little; she thought her prediction quite favorable. Oh, yes, Fujibayashi Ryou wasn't very aware of the destructive power of her predictions, too. That, Fujibayashi Kyou made sure of. It was a sort of taboo, punishable with a dictionary to the face.
As the disgruntled girl vacated the displaced chair placed in front of Fujibayashi, the 'sage' looked about her audience. "We're running out of time, everyone, I'm really sorry." was her announcement, met almost immediately with soundless, yet reassuring gestures.
"I could do one or two more fortunes." she further added, apologetically. She went back to the cards she had placed on the table, collecting them, and shuffling the completed deck again. "Next?" she queried, as the huddled group shifted, those uninterested (in having their fortunes told) waiting patiently.

Kichiro Haru
___________________________________________________________________________ Another day was done, and Kichiro was finishing off cleaning his stuff up for the day. Most of the day had been rather normal really; schoolwork, lunch in the library after yet another failed attempt to woo Kotomi, and then more schoolwork. That had been just about his personal school schedule since he had met up Kotomi in that restaurant. Sadly, he had absolutely no clue if he was making any progress whatsoever with her; that mind of hers was intelligent yet random enough he could never be completely sure.
For now, however, he wasn’t going to let his love life (or lack of it for that matter as was probably the likelier case) bother him. His homework load was rather light today, so he would have more time to goof off today than normal. Even if he was good at school, he enjoyed a break every once in awhile. Of course, he also didn’t have that much to do, so he was moving rather slow as he moved out of his classroom and started to head out. In the hall, however, he stumbled upon a surprise; the sounds of people cheering about something, and upon a quick investigation, a moderate size crowd of people hovering around something. What it was Kichiro could not remember, till he heard a familiar voice say “I could do one or two more fortunes.”
That was when his memory returned; Fujibayashi Ryou, the younger sister of Kyou. He had heard she had a hobby in fortune-telling, which would explain the crowds. People were always interested in this sort of thing, but Kichiro never cared for it that much. His life had gotten rather predictable to the point he didn’t need fortune telling to tell him what was going to happen next. Besides, ever since that incident with the Drama Club, Kyou had been glaring at him whenever he was around Ryou. Everybody knew that Kyou was protective of her ‘younger’ sister (even if they were twins), so hanging around Ryou too long was almost like asking for a death sentence. Things had gotten better after time moved on, but Kichiro was still a bit afraid of the girl. He just didn’t want a dictionary thrown at him after all.
Having no clue what Ryou was currently doing, Kichiro just stood in the back as people jostled around Ryou trying to get their fortunes told. Around then more people entered, and in the process bumped into Kichiro, knocking him into the crowd. A few pushes later, Kichiro found himself dumbstruck as he was pushed into the front.
”HEY, DO KICHIRO’S!”
Yep, somebody drafted him into it. Some of the girls giggled in response to the idea, probably remembering his past ‘fortunes’. Kichiro was blushing at it, wanting desperately to get out of there as quickly as possible. The last thing he needed was a repeat of that event, or something like it. It took him the rest of his second year to get the issue to finally be resolved, outside of minor giggles and teasing about it of course. He tried to back out of it, but people kept pushing him forward. Defeated, Kichiro responded with a sigh.
”All right, I’m in.”

Ryou surveyed the male student who came forward, or perhaps it would be more appropriate to say he was pushed forward. She wondered why there were giggles and sniggers; she failed to see if there was something funny, either in her actions, or in the boy's. However, in his fortune-telling state, she was more than calm, and dismissed this little fact as something she probably was better off not knowing.
The younger Fujibayashi took in his features, his expression that had a little bit of surrender. She knew she had seen the face before, but then again, she had been studying in this school for three years now, and it was a little reasonable to say that she might have simply bumped shoulders with him while passing corridors. His uniform stated that he was a third year... the same level as she.
Still, there was that nagging thought in her mind, that she might have encountered him in a situation more important, or more... embarassing? Was it one of those things that she was not supposed to know, or in this case, remember? She stopped herself from scratching her head, and banished the wry expression that had managed to put itself on her face. This was probably no time to think about it...
She shuffled her cards, as she did before taking a fortune, and peered into the boy's eyes. She wondered, for a moment, if she should say anything else but the usual, but then decided against it. This was the last fortune of the day, and after this, she could go home, eat something that Grandmother or Kyou-neechan had cooked... she should concentrate on this. This was her commitment, of sorts.
"What's your name?" she asked. "What would you like to know?" Perhaps his choice of fortune would shed a little light on who he was... or more specifically, what he wanted. The sound of cards sorting pervaded the room, as Ryou focused her attention on the male, in a slightly unsettling way. She was waiting for his response. OC: Sorry for it not being that long. Kichiro Haru
___________________________________________________________________________ Being pushed forward, Kichiro steadied himself on the table in front of him before he could finally get a good look at Ryou. He was a little nervous, half-accepting Kyou to come bursting in right now and strike him down with her dictionary. His reputation was better now, but when it came to Ryou, Kyou was rather overprotective. If you had so much as a tardy to class in elementary school she’d be wary…okay, that was an exaggeration but that wasn’t the point. So he was sweating a little bit in nervousness as he approached her.
For a moment it looked as if Ryou remembered him, but eventually she brushed it off. That helped Kichiro calm down a little bit; at least he wouldn’t have to be dealing with her reaction to anything. Instead, she focused on the cards in front of her, and Kichiro followed along as he really had nothing better to do. It helped him calm down even more to take his mind on autopilot and just follow the routine movements. He was eventually snapped out of it, however, when she asked for his name and what he wanted to know. Considering people were just yelling his name out….then again, she was the fortune teller, not him. If she needed his name again he’d tell her.
”Haru Kichiro and I would like to know…” he paused, not really sure what it was that he wanted to know. His mind instantly jumped to wanting to ask about Kotomi; he didn’t seem to be getting anywhere except an acknowledgement of his existence as, apparently, a failed language master. Obviously not the way he wanted to go, but he wasn’t really sure where to go. Also, he was a bit embarrassed at it all, and a small blush crossed his face. Leaning forward, he whispered to Ryou.
”It’s a little private, but I’m kind of interested in a girl and kind of wanted to know if I have any chance with her.” he asked before leaning back to his spot. He was a little more red now, which brought some slight whispering from the crowds behind him. Of course they were curious about what he asked, but with his behavior towards Ryou, what with all the blushing and whispering, brought on some interesting interpretations. When he hears someone whispering if maybe he had asked Ryou out, Kichiro was quick to try and defend himself lest Kyou magically hear it somehow.
”I-I wasn’t asking her out or anything like that! My fortune request was just a little, uhm, private that’s all.” he stuttered out. This was why he hated getting involved in things like this; it just always blew up in his face. [/blockquote] ___________________________________________________________________________

Asking me out? the younger Fujibayashi twin thought. Apparently most of the crowd seemed to assume that Kichiro, the boy whom the crowd gave her, liked her, in... that likey-likey sort of way. She'd never really thought herself attractive, although perhaps her being meek, or even soothing, had something to do with it, and she had a lingering suspicion that certain messages of the male student body were being intercepted by her sister. It would be certainly interesting to find someone who liked her, although she wasn't quite sure how to respond to affection; in her mind, she had often thought of herself as somebody who will admire, rather than being admired. It may not be a foreign notion, but it was not a commonplace one.
The class representative smiled cordially. She looked around, seemingly amused, and the crowd stopped and hushed at her inaudible bidding. Right now, what was of importance, to her, was the fortune; anything else was secondary. In the back of her mind, she considered asking him about it later, if her sister would not trounce the boy before that. She still had not realized that she might find the idea embarassing, later. Besides, the look in the boy's eyes seemed to indicate a memory of somebody else... somebody he likes. She liked that look, even if it wasn't for her.
"Let's start." she plainly remarked. The conglomeration shifted uneasily. Even if they were temporarily sentenced to silence, their attention had a way of making itself tangible. Some wiped at their faces with handkerchiefs. She did her stuff with teh cards, and it wasn't anything special, really; she shuffled the cards, cut it, had the participant do certain things to it, and basically let basic randomness take over. She simply needed to extract three cards, and so, when the process was over, she had three cards face down on the table, apart from her deck. The atmosphere of the room was bated.
"Ace of Diamonds." she said, naming the card as she revealed it. The card pertains to the person in question... well, it doesn't seem to be me... "This person you want to know about is very intelligent, but hard to get through; there are things about her that can be hard to change." She paused, as if reviewing what she said. She moved on to the next card.
"Eight of Hearts. You will have an encounter where you will have to listen, and what you will hear may shake you, and your world. This will probably happen in a music room." She closed her eyes, as if praying, and then opened them as she neared the last card. Some of the old-timers were beginning to draw their own conclusions; some were even assuming that Ryou was talking about herself.
"Two of Clubs." She seemed to be conflicted. She seemed to be searching her mind for what the last card meant. It was the obstacle... "You might have to hear what she wants you to hear, again and again. If you heed her enough, you might be able... though it's a chance that's a little slim... to make the present outweigh the past."
She resigned herself back to a relaxed position. "That's it for today, everybody." The people started dispersing, though some were hanging about, looking if Ryou would do something regarding Kichiro after the session... and they would be right, it seems. What would Kichiro-san do now?

Kichiro Haru
___________________________________________________________________________ With all the commotion, Kichiro had to look over at Ryou to get her reaction out of it. Since it seemed as if the older Fujibayashi wasn’t barging in yet, he was safe for now. Glancing up at her face, all he spotted was her just smiling about it. At least she was taking it all in stride; Kichiro was starting to blush rather bad at being the center of attention like this. Just ducking his head down a bit, he whispered off a ”Sorry,” as everybody else began to quiet down to let her get to her fortune telling. As she shuffled, she occasionally had him get involved. Of course he complied, and eventually she pulled out three cards.
The first was the Ace of Diamonds, which apparently meant that the person is intelligent but hard to get through.
”Boy, didn’t that describe her perfectly…” he whispered.
Kicihiro didn’t even think that Kotomi knew he had a crush on her. And after all the blushing, stumbling around, and all that sort of thing. As far as she was concerned, he was just a randomly nice kid. Though the ‘things that can be hard to change,’ had him a little worried. It made it sound as if she was hiding something. Then again, it was fortune telling, a game. There was nothing to fear right? Besides, it could be that the “hard thing” was her denseness and shyness, nothing deep or secretive. Still, he couldn’t help but get a strange feeling about that fortune.
Next came the Eight of Hearts. Apparently he was going to hear something that will shake his world….in the music room? Hmm, that was oddly specific. Still, combined with the “hard to change” thing, Kichiro was starting to actually get worried. Even telling himself it was just ‘fortune telling’ wasn’t helping anything. What exactly could be so world shaking, and in the music room of all places? Of course, Kichiro wasn’t going to go about forcing Kotomi into the music room to figure it out; he’d just let her get there on her own terms. Then again, how did he know she was talking about Kotomi?
Anyway, it was time for the Two of Clubs. For something that sounded so confusing, he actually got it (he thought at least). The “hear what she wants you to hear” thing could have been like how she thought he was some language expert when he wasn’t. Now, this didn’t mean he was going to lie to her to approve her sometimes messed up perceptions, but he could humor her a little least. Though once again, that dread feeling was coming up with the “present outweigh the past” thing. Really, he was going to have to talk to Ryou about it once everyone left; it was just too present for him to ignore it. That, and he didn’t enjoy the ‘slim chance’ aspect apparently involved in all this.
Soon the room began to clear out, with some hanging back some. Seeing as it looked as if they weren’t going anywhere anytime soon, if he wanted to talk to Ryou, he was going to have to do it now.
”Hey, Fujibayashi, uhm, Do you mind if I ask you about something? During the readings I kept getting a bit of a ‘foreboding’ feeling, so to speak. Is that normal?” Kichiro worried. It was a good kind though; he was actually concerned something might be wrong about Kotomi and wanted to know if there was something he could do to help. But she was so dense that, well, he wasn’t sure what he could do to even figure out what it was. [/blockquote] ___________________________________________________________________________

Ryou wiped the sweat off her brow... she didn't realize that her forehead had become so moist... perhaps it must have been the dose of excitement her hobby gave her. She smiled a bit at the thought, and then she was Fujibayashi Ryou again, the timid class representative, not Ryou, who was the fortuneteller. They were very similar, but they had their differences. The younger Fujibayashi shook her head. She shouldn't think like this; she had no wish to be bipolar.
She wasn't all that surprised when Kichiro-san approached her. Most people do that, ask questions, other stuff that they don't want the general audience to hear... well, she just told fortunes, it wasn't as if she really had visions of the future or anything. She wrung her hands; she had just finished packing her belongings. There were the usual onlookers, staying until the last moment that Ryou left the room; they were a little braver today, since the older sister has yet to make an appearance.
"Um..." She wasn't entirely sure how to answer the boy's question. What were the reactions of those people that had their fortunes come... true? Well, most of them say that the fortune didn't happen... didn't exactly happen... and they almost always have a twitch at the side of her mouth. They were just fortunes, right? "I'm not really sure." she muttered, sincerely. "I've never really did some fortunetelling on myself..." She didn't say something else that she thought... maybe it was just the stares of the onlookers... or maybe my sister.
The sky was already darkening. She heaved her bag and made to go to the door, though she kept her attention at Kichiro. He might have something else to say... and maybe she could figure out why he seems specially familiar. "I guess it's normal." she sheepishly concluded, not very reassuringly, though her shy smile made up for it.

I'm in the business of misery, let's take it from the top. She's got a body like an hourglass that's ticking like a clock. It's a matter of time before we all run out. When I thought he was mine, she caught him by the mouth. I waited eight long months, she finally set him free. I told him I can't lie; he was the only one for me. Two weeks, and we had caught on fire. She's got it out for me, but I wear the biggest smile. Kyou moved powerfully through the hallway from her classroom, her sights clearly set on some task she was going to readily perform. She was headed towards her sister's classroom with a personal test: to see how boys acted in Ryou's class. As much as it may have seemed like a stupid task in itself, the long list of reasons as to why Kyou was performing such a task outweighted how dumb it truly was. Despite that... None would stand against the elder Fujibayashi's wrath anyway. Such antics would be much too dangerous.
Reaching the door to Ryou's classroom, Kyou saw that it was ajar, open by just a few centimeters, enough for Kyou to peek through with a complete view of the classroom. She saw Ryou sitting at her desk, packing her things as usual... All but her cards. A few boys were crowded around... And Ryou appeared to be doing her fortune-telling. Even a few girls were there... No harm done, yet. Soon, another boy was pushed forward as a volunteer for a fortune. Kyou didn't recognize him... How odd.
As the others filed away from Ryou's desk, Kyou took that opportunity to silently open the door enough to squeeze into the room. She scuttled over to a group of clustered boys, who were about to cower away in fear; they'd been glancing at Ryou, but Kyou hardly noticed; she put her hands up in a peace gesture, then put one finger over her lips. She could see both Ryou and the boy from her vantage point, but couldn't quite make out what was being said, much to the Fujibayashi's frustration. She could tell, however, that the boy was nervous about something... And then he moved closer to Ryou, for whatever reason. A coy smile broke out over Kyou's face as she made her way behind the boy, throwing a "shh" look towards Ryou should her twin notice.
"Something wrong with my sister's fortune telling, boy?!" Kyou's voice was sharp and foreboding, quite dangerous as always. Firm and tough, her lips were almost completely at the boy's ear... Her eyes were flickering with danger, which meant that the boy - whose name was Kichiro, though Kyou didn't know that - was surely in for a load of trouble unless he could explain himself... Really, really fast.
Second chances, they don't ever matter; people never change. Once a whore, you're nothing more, I'm sorry; that'll never change. And about forgiveness we're both supposed to have exchanged I'm sorry honey, but I'm passing up, now look this way! Well, there's a million other girls who do it just like you Looking as innocent as possible to get to who they want And what they like; it's easy if you do it right! Well, I refuse, I refuse, I REFUSE!

Kichiro Haru
___________________________________________________________________________ Kichiro felt a bit sorry about bothering Ryou like this, especially since it looked like she was about to head out. She had her stuff packed after all. But his concerns about Kotomi were currently overriding any level of politeness he usually would have had in this sort of situation. Even if she couldn’t tell the future, it might just be nice to talk to someone about it for once. Obviously he couldn’t ask Kotomi herself; she was oblivious enough to probably not know what he was asking. Plus, he wasn’t close enough to her, he thought, to ask about something so personal.
However, Ryou wasn’t really helping much. Apparently she wasn’t too sure about how his feelings were related to this since she was never the subject of a fortune-telling herself. That was fine, he could understand, and when she said it was normal he really couldn’t take it at face value. Feelings of dread were normal for the people who asked her for fortune telling? Then why would people keep coming back for them? Well, some of the guys he could figure out a reason for, but that was besides the point. Still, he couldn’t get upset with her or anything; it was just a question, and her shy, little smile helped defused any thoughts he might have had about it.
Before he got the chance to say something else, however, a voice appeared behind him that sent shivers up his spine. Scared half to death, he turned around to find himself face to face with Kyou Fujibayashi, the “older” of the Fujibayashi twins. Now he was feeling dread of course, but this wasn’t the same kind related to the fortunes. This was more of the “Oh crap the protective older sister is here” kind of dread; Kyou had a reputation for it after all. Apparently she had thought he had a problem with Ryou’s fortune telling, which wasn’t the case at all. He just had some follow up questions, maybe a chance to talk to her about something, that was all. Seeing as she wanted an answer quickly, Kichiro raced to say something.
”F-Fujibayashi. Wh-when did you get here?” he nervously replied, backing up a little bit so he wasn’t as close to her.
”I-I don’t have a problem with your sister’s fortune telling at all. I- I just had some q-questions about something she said in her fortune, th-that’s all.” He continued, though he had a feeling he probably should give her a little more, maybe explain any of the whisperings the crowd might have had about him and Ryou. After all, there was a good chance she had heard something about it.
”Y-You see, I had asked her about a g-girl I liked and what she had said kind of, well, worried me a bit,” he added, quieting up a little bit as he kept on talking. Relieved to get that out of the way, his mind reminded him that the crowd had thought he had been asking about Ryou. There was a good chance that Kyou would jump to that conclusion as well, especially with him hanging back to talk to her a little bit more.
”B-but I wasn’t asking her about herself though. I-I’m not interested in asking her out or anything like that,” he replied defensively, though he then realized that it sounded kind of rude since Ryou was standing right next to them. He turned to face her to try and apologize,”N-not that there’s anything wrong with you of course. You’re a sweet girl and all, I’m sure any guy would be glad to date you…” [/blockquote] ___________________________________________________________________________

it's... not... Ryou had noticed her elder sister, and a look of concern shot through her eyes briefly; still, apparently, it wasn't enough to warn poor Kichiro, and the boy was soon distraught. The younger Fujibayashi knew very few people who could stand up to her sister and survive... Okazaki-kun was one, but he definitely wasn't here, and even then he would probably only help one of Kyou's victims on a whim. To tell the truth, despite herself, Ryou found it a bit funny when Okazaki-kun deserted Sunohara when the latter was her older sister's target of whatever malignant feelings... though of course she thought it rude to find another person's suffering enjoyable, and so she hid it.
Kichiro-san's suffering, on the other hand, wasn't something as ridiculous or as humorous as Sunohara-san's was. For one thing, he was merely asking certain things about the fortune she had given him, and if somebody was to be questioned, it probably had to be her... she had been a little unsatisfied herself that she had not answered the boy's questions properly. She had been thinking about supporting the boy, who seemed to be taking her fortune a little too worriedly; the only thing that had been holding her back was that she wasn't quite sure if she should; after all, she barely knew Kichiro-san, besides that vague feeling of hers that she had met him somewhere before. Before she had decided on what to do, Oneechan had already interjected, a little too furiously, in fact.
"O-oneechan!" Ryou stammered, almost as if she were the one in the metaphorical hot seat. Her mind turned a little frantic, as it searched for ways to defuse the situation... it was true that this sort of thing happened a lot to her, considering Kyou-oneechan's watchfulness, ferocity and precision... there were even long-ranged versions of this scenario involving really loud shouts and PA systems and dictionaries flying like they were fitted into specialized launchers. Still, even with all that experience, Ryou had apparently never gotten used to it; she simply took too much time to make her guardian stop, though she had been successful a few times when Okazaki-kun was involved.
"He-he's t-telling th-the t-truth, oneechan!" she whimpered in agreement to Kichiro's pronouncement, trying to dissuade her sibling from pressing on any further. She looked a little perturbed, a little distressed. She waved her hands in the air, inching slowly towards the two, a purple-haired ball of scared pacifism.
However, what made her freak out a little more wasn't another action from her sister, but unexpectedly, from the victim. He sounded as if he was going to spill the details of her fortune, the side she didn't know... and then he didn't, but Ryou didn't have time to feel relieved. However his attempt at diplomacy did not end there, and thus Kichiro entered a mine field... Fujibayashi Ryou's cheeks flushed and she immediately run out of words to say as Kichiro said... what he said.
She definitely, definitely didn't know how to respond to that.

Two weeks, and we had caught on fire. She's got it out for me, but I wear the biggest smile. Kyou had certainly been a storm of Fujibayashi when she entered the room and suddenly began to interrogate Kichiro about her sister's fortunes. She certainly took pride in making people squirm, especially when they squirmed and stammered like he was. If it was her sister she was a little more lenient, but when it came to guys, she'd take every road possible to put them in the hot seat. Now it was just time to poke and prod him with the hot fire poker until he broke.
She listened with a hard face, arms crossed over her chest, looking demonic as ever, as Kichiro managed to stammer out a response to her deadly-sounding query. So he'd been asking about the girl he liked, huh? Kyou raised an eyebrow at that. He went on to state that it hadn't been Ryou that was the girl he liked, to which Kyou's other eyebrow shot up. Her lips were still pursed in a line, her looking as if she were about to impatiently begin tapping her foot.
Kyou was about to burst out at the boy again when her sister backed up the statements he'd made about the fortune. Oh, craptastic, now I need another course of action so I can keep him in the hot seat. Hmm... Kyou's mind was riveting through ideas, closing her eyes so she still looked like an ominous threat. Not that she didn't already, of course. Whenever Kyou came storming into the room like that, people tended to guess that there was an ominous aura about the Fujibayashi girl.
"You're lucky my sister's sayin' you're telling the truth, otherwise I wouldn't have believed you with all that nervous stammering," she said, noting how he'd stepped back so she wasn't literally breathing down his neck about the whole thing. Now she had an idea; she could interrogate him about this girl he liked, maybe... And perhaps the truth would come out, and it would turn out to be none other than her sister! Oh, Kyou, you are so smart sometimes, she egotistically complimented herself, as a smirk came across her face.
As if she were a ghost or something, she scuttled up to Kichiro and whispered in his ear with a low, somewhat prying tone. "So who's the lucky girl, huh?" Perhaps if it turned out to be someone other than her sister, Kyou could lend a hand in his... Attempts. It would all depend on who it was, though. If it turned out to be Kyou herself, she might just have a chucking contest to see which book she could chuck the hardest....

___________________________________________________________________________ As he stood there like a frightened puppy, Kichiro was glad to see that Ryou was at least joining him on his side. He mouthed off a little “Thank you” to the younger Fujibayashi as she got involved in the situation. It was pretty brave of her actually, considering she was usually so timid while Kyou was so…well, the complete and utter opposite of that. Add in that Kyou was in overprotective-sister mode right now and Ryou’s intervening was almost heroic. Of course, he was probably thinking that considering he was on the wrong side of that mode. Kyou was currently looking a little demonic as he stood there, and looking rather impatient at that. With that in mind, talking to her was a little bit hard, hence all the stammering as he got out an answer. That eyebrow, however, had him worried, hence the mentioning it wasn’t related to her sister.
Of course, what he said afterward he immediately realized that it probably didn’t help him much. Ryou was already blushing and apparently speechless in response to it. Looking at Kyou he waited to see if there was any response, but apparently she was busy thinking of something. Apparently he had lucked out on that bit, and Ryou’s intervention seemed to have the effect of getting her distracted. The tension was down a little bit, and he felt safe in stepping back just a little bit so he wasn’t getting full frontal view of the Kyou’s angry-face. He almost stumbled on a desk behind him, but managed to keep himself steady, for once. His normal luck would have made him fall onto the floor, and with two girls and their skirts….brushing that idea, he listened as Kyou mentioned that he was lucky Ryou got involved on his side.
”Y-yes, I was just asking for a little feedback. Ryou’s fortunes kind of worried me a bit.” he replied, a little nervous sounding as he did so.
What he didn’t expect, however, was for Kyou to get right up next to him and whisper in his ear. Any other girl and he would have probably be fainting from the scene. Considering it was Kyou, who just a second ago was on the verge of killing him, any erotic-sense of the scene was gone. Still, he at least got to have the embarrassment part as she asked him who the ‘lucky girl’ was. Kichiro diverted his eyes from the two, just staring at the floor as he blushed and tried to figure out if it would be a good idea to tell him. On the one hand, he really didn’t know why Kyou wanted to know, and he truly doubted he would enjoy her meddling in the affair. On the other hand, if he didn’t, he knew Kyou would either continue to pester him about it or assume it was her or Ryou. If that turned out to be the case…..
”Well, uhm, d-do you know a Ichinose Kotomi? he mumbled out, but still loud enough Kyou would probably be able to hear it. Admittedly, suffering Kyou’s wrath was more painful than admitting who his crush was. Of course, it all depended on what Kyou was planning on doing with said knowledge. It took for a while to recover from Kichiro's words; she didn't how she should respond to them, since, they were, well, a little complicated in their message. It seemed Kichiro-san had quite a lucky break; he had managed to confuse two people at the same time. Ryou, of course, took a longer time to rebound than her sister, who was as resilient as she was insistent.
The younger Fujibayashi rubbed her eyes and slowly, gradually, inched away from the doorway; Kichiro-san might need it. She still wasn't sure if she should accept the boy's statement as a compliment, but the prime problem here was that her sister was loose again. She instinctively rubbed her eyes, then put on her smile, though as always in a situation like this, her smile seemed a little hesitant.
Apparently, her oneechan didn't realize the impact of Kichiro's statement; she was... preoccupied in tormenting the male student that she missed a way to push him around more. Her oneechan didn't seem to remember anything about Kichiro... so maybe it was just she who was thinking that she had met or had a run-in with this fortunetelling client of hers before.
She wondered why her older twin liked to do this; sometimes it seemed that she was just using the overprotective clause as an excuse, but then Ryou couldn't deny that her sister cared for her. Her quivering eyes darted between the two 'combatants', although, as things were bound to be, our protagonist Kichiro Haru is in dire straits if he doesn't keep blabbing the right stuff.
From one problem to the other... she didn't know how to respond to Kichiro-san, though probably this situation of hers is much easier than Kichiro-san confessing to her... and she didn't know how to abate her sibling's malevolent charge. There were only so much she could do. Having cleared the doorway, she plopped her bag onto a desk, and pretended to check its contents. She took her handkerchief from it, and wiped the sweat off her brow.
Her sister was now forcing him to admit his crush. She had been victimized by a weaker version of that from her sister, when she questioned her about who... her crush was. People don't usually like admitting those certain things, she knew, but in the face of Kyou-oneechan... she looked around to see if there were people watching the spectacle; she knew some things could be... embarrassing. The room was empty, it seemed, save for them... watching Fujibayashi Kyou raze about is risking the chance that you get razed, too... well, Ryou wouldn't want to think that way about her sister, but she had... much experience with Fujibayashi Kyou.
Ichinose Kotomi? She kept her thoughts to herself as she looked on and prayed that her sister would let the boy off her hook. Isn't that... the genius girl?
