Reichieru walked down the hallway to her class. Her mood was mellow as she entered the quite room. Taking her seat and setting her things down, she noticed that she was the only one there. “Must be early,” she thought. She shrugged and took out a notebook titled doodles and a mechanical pencil. Clicking the writing utensil twice, she started with long fine lines and then smaller chunkier lines. Soon, she had a rough sketch of a large tree. Rei bit her lip and started shading the leaves and the bark. She drew some patches of grass and a family of birds in the tree. Then she added a carving into the bark of the tree. Next, she erased and redrew some pitiful lines and shaded some more. Tilting her head to the side, she wondered what else she could add to liven up this scene. Biting her lower lip again, she began sketching out a face, hair, and a body. It was a girl. Her expression seemed sad though Rei didn’t intend that.
Again, her hand flew over the page adding finer details. It was still rough but Reichieru liked it well enough. Maybe she would color it or write a story based on it. She wasn’t sure. Leaning over the page and tapping the eraser end of her pencil on her desk, she pondered on what the reason for the girl’s sadness could be, perhaps a lost love, or maybe that she is just alone? She couldn’t decide. Then a thought struck her. Maybe she’s not unhappy after all. Maybe she ‘wants’ to be alone. Not knowing where that thought came from, she decided to write it down on the back of the picture just to make sure the thought wouldn’t disappear from her mind. That often happened to her train of thought. If it got off track then her ideas would be gone. It irritated her a great deal, especially when she has something really good and then something would hinder her from writing it down. Usually it was a person needing her to do something that would interfere. Placing the period at the end of her rant, Rei smiled happily.
The idea wouldn’t be still in her mind. The idea of being happy alone was interesting. She didn’t really like being alone but then again, there were times when she needed her space. Then again, why would anyone want the burden of having friends or a lover when there is so much heartbreak that goes with it. Rei had never had a love before so she couldn’t ‘really’ relate to that but she still had an idea. Besides, she’s seen other people’s relationships before. It almost seemed like a waste of emotions and tears when people get hurt by their loved ones. Reichieru’s expression went sour and she stuffed her drawing in her briefcase. Resting her chin in her hand, she stared out the window with the light shining in on her. It reminded her of what love was ‘suppose’ to be. She narrowed her eyes and faced the front of the room again. Students would soon be arriving.
((Is this ok?)
