Description:

Iryna's overall appearance can be simplified into one word: "petite". She has a slender frame (79/53/77) alongside her modest height (156 cm/5 feet 1 inch), making her be easily mistaken for a middle school student. Her rose-colored hair is ankle-length and usually tied up in twin pigtails. Her eyes are sharp and have a gleaming red color of garnet. Her two upper fangs are a bit larger than the usual size, hence can be visible when she talks.

Iryna can be easily recognized by her horn-like hair ornaments. When in school, she wears her standard Hikarizaka uniform with her blouse tucked in, alongside her black thigh-highs. Despite being interested in fashion like other typical teenage girls, she prefers simple bright-colored dresses, blouses and miniskirts for her casual outfits.

Personality:

On the surface, Iryna is seen as a cute, sweet, easygoing girl who is easy to befriend. However, underneath that persona is her big ego, which she rarely shows to others. Her superiority complex stems from her wealthy family, her cutesy looks that have made her popular with many other people (especially boys in her schools), and her ice-skating skills. She refers to herself as "Iryna-chan" when she becomes smug enough. Otherwise, she sticks to the girlish pronoun "atashi".

Iryna is rather manipulative by nature. She likes to make use of her loli charms in order to get what she wants and make others do her bidding, and succeeds most of the time. However, even though she's very well aware of the advantages of her petite looks, she still secretly wants to grow taller, having long slender legs like female models and professional figure skaters. In fact, Iryna is pretty sensitive about being mistaken as a middle-school girl.

Yet, even beneath that ego, lies a sensitive, caring side, which she only shows to her family and her household workers, especially her dear cousin Haruka, who acts as Iryna's confidante, the one Iryna can fully pour out her real thoughts and feelings to. Furthermore, even though Iryna revels in being born wealthy, she shuns using money to influence people, and is willing to help anyone in distress.

Iryna is passionate about ice skating, partly due to her mother being a former professional skater, and also her profound interest in the swift beautiful moves she has seen on TV. It's an activity that she truly puts all her efforts in, which makes her a promising athlete. However, there's a girl named Aizawa Shouko who keeps standing in her way since the middle school years. As a stubborn girl who refuses to lose in anything, being unable to beat Shouko in any competition so far has spurred a strong feeling of hatred and envy towards that girl inside Iryna. It gets even more bitter when both of them attend the same high school.

Like many other girls her age, Iryna love small, cute-looking animals. She especially adores cats, and gets excited at the sight of them. She has a huge collection of cat plushies in her room. However, she cannot have her own pet cat at home, due to her mother's allergy. She also tends to connect easily with those who are fond of cats like herself.

Iryna is very fond of meat buns and tends to buy a lot of them for lunch. She also enjoys classical music, especially the works of Mozart and Tchaikovsky. In the case of the latter, she used to train in ballet and is rather fond of two of his most famous works: Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.

History:

Iryna is the only child of Fuukami Yuusaku, a Japanese businessman, and Maria Sergeyevna Ivanova, a former Russian professional figure skater. Yuusaku met Maria soon after the former is sent to work in Moscow. When Iryna reached 12, the family moved from Russia to Hikarizaka due to Yuusaku's transfer, and settle down there ever since. Maria currently works as an instructor in the local ice skating rink.

Being born into wealth, Iryna enjoys her pampered life to the fullest, takes pride in herself and her family being "near the top of the food chain". Her popularity in school, due to both her status and her cutesy doll-like looks, has boosted her ego even more. After being learned from her father that good public relations is the key to success in life, she has since adopted a "nice, easygoing demure girl" persona so that she can get along with more people, but has only managed to attract lots of unwanted male admirers rather than real friends, especially female ones. The one she yearns for attention from the most is her father, who has trouble going home early and spending time with his family due to his work. Hence, the one closest to her is Maria, a person she can rely on both at home and on the rink.

Iryna started to have interest in figure skating after listening to stories about her mother's achievements during her glory days before being forced to retire due to a serious injury, and seeing how graceful those athletes can be with their flawless moves on television, the petite girl decided that she will do better than her mother did, to make her family proud. From then on, she started training at the age of 10, with Maria as her mentor.

Since then, Iryna trained very hard to improve her skills, and has become one of the most promising athletes in Japanese ice-skating. She has taken part in various competitions and has won a few trophies. However, whenever a girl named Aizawa Shouko takes part in the game, Iryna just cannot reach the top. The scores are always neck-to-neck, but Shouko ends up being the champion, and Iryna the runner-up. Her constant defeat at the brunette's hands has made Iryna vow to herself that one day, the rose-haired girl will surpass Shouko, fair and square. When Iryna wants something, she will have it. When she got admitted to Hikarizaka High, Iryna was bitter that her rival Shouko would be her schoolmate for 3 years, and dreaded the fact that she has to see that girl on a near-daily basis.

Iryna first met Mizukami Ayumu just shortly after her high school entrance ceremony. While strolling along the riverbank, she caught sight of the white-haired boy swimming in the water, trying to rescue a stranded cat. Fortunately, both the boy and the cat reached the riverbank safely. This act of heroism and kindness caused Iryna to develop a crush on Ayumu. However, she did not know what to do about this newfound emotion, and have tried to deny it while still watching him from afar from time to time. It is already one year since then, and she still has not made any progress.

7 pm, Konoe residence.

"Dad's going to be late tonight too, Onii-chan".

There is no need to look at her face to see Kana's melancholic expression across the table. After all, her dad is the only adult figure she can rely on now. Kana lost her mom three years ago in a traffic accident, that's what her dad told me.

After eating our dinner silently, we decided to watch TV. Not for long, though, as Kana switched off the TV after getting bored with the news.
I couldn't help but asked: "Do you feel lonely often?" Kana fell silent for a while, then replied softly: "Yes..." Just as I tried to cheer her up, she continued: "But onii-chan is with me now, so I don't feel lonely anymore". I smiled a little, feeling pleased to be needed. I decided to lighten the mood by performing a parlor trick: "moving" a finger of mine from one hand to another. Kana's become so excited of the trick that I was quite taken aback.
