[spoiler=#A more thorough description (optional) ;]
It would be difficult to call Sakagami Tomoyo your typical sixteen-year-old high school junior. Her calm and bright sapphire blue eyes tend to lend her the image of someone intelligent, dignified, and determined; all of which are true. Perhaps her most striking feature is her long, straight hair which reaches down a few inches past her hips, with her feathered fringe brushed lightly to the left side of her face. She accessorizes with a plan but all-the-while stylish black horseshoe-shaped hair band atop her head, which helps to keep her dark silver hair from cascading down her front.
Gifted with an athletic and sound body, Tomoyo is both sturdy and slender, standing at around 5’4’’ and weighing in at approximately 105 lbs. Her strength lies in her surprisingly powerful legs. This girl is able to juggle troublemakers in mid-air with a barrage of high-speed kicks. With that said, it is clear that her fairly ample bosom doesn’t impede her athletic ability at all. She is also talented at many sports, even at those she’s never played before, and so Tomoyo is frequently asked to join the high school’s many sports teams.
Of course, attending Hikarizaka Private High School requires her to wear the school’s appropriate seasonal uniforms. In the cold season, it’s the short dark blue pleated skirt, white knee-high stockings, and a light yellow blazer worn over a warm dark blue turtleneck. In the warm season, the high school’s uniform is the typical Japanese sailor-style uniform. Tomoyo wears a red insignia on her uniform, signaling her status as a second-year student.
Outside of school however, Sakagami Tomoyo tends to wear more typically feminine clothing styles. Her choices include outfits consisting of classy skirts and dresses and blouses, while avoiding wearing clothes that might make her appear masculine and not conventionally “girly” enough.
#Personality ;
Tomoyo possesses a certain maturity to her personality that can be considered rare among her peers. In most situations, even when face-to-face with a bunch of thugs looking for a fight, she somehow manages to stay calm and composed, rarely allowing her emotions to spiral out of control. Of course, she feels just like anybody else. While she typically puts up a confident and strong-willed front, she's just as easily hurt and vulnerable. She likes to consider herself a big-hearted person with an immense capacity for "motherly" compassion.
As a responsible, reliable, and dependable young lady, she is able to balance both work and enjoyment efficiently. Tomoyo looks out not only for herself, but also for her fellow students, even going as far as waking the forever late delinquent students up early in the morning so that they make it to school on time.
Although kind, Tomoyo can also be quite frank with her words. She seems to care more about the nature of a person rather than age or rank, and so this behavior of hers can sometimes frustrate others who pay attention to the senpai-kohai hierarchy. She also seems to lack sense of how others might perceive her actions...
Sakagami’s allegiance to her friends and family is unwavering. In fact, "family" for her is not limited to only her mother, father, or brother. She considers her close friends to be part of her family, too. Tomoyo is willing to do whatever she can to help them, be it cooking for them, supporting them in their goals, and everything else in between. It goes without saying that Tomoyo is not a lazy person. She is a hardworking girl who scores high marks in her classes and puts forth her heart and soul into the bonds formed between her and the people closest to her.
Speaking of hardworking, Tomoyo’s original reason for transferring to Hikarizaka High School was that so she could become student council president and save something very sentimental and important to her and her family – the beautiful cherry blossom trees lining the road on the way to school. Firmly determined to see her goal to fruition, little will sway Tomoyo from her mission.
However, her strong sense of justice often puts her in a risky situation in her new school. Tomoyo just cannot seem to stand by and ignore those ruthless punks who bully the weak, nor can she stand those who do nothing to help themselves. Despite her aversion to fighting, there are some delinquents who are impervious to reprimanding words. When all else fails to work, Tomoyo resorts to using her natural physical strength to make sure those kinds of people will think twice before bothering "ordinary folk" again. After all, she knows actions speak louder than words.
There is a reason why Tomoyo seems to have a knack for fighting. Sure, natural strength can get a person far, but nobody is a natural fighter. Tomoyo once was a delinquent with a violent past. She fought against gang members regularly when she was in junior high school, justifying her actions as something righteous, that she was teaching troublemakers a lesson. However, under it all, she was only using her victims to vent her frustration. She used them as an escape, a way to keep her mind off her home situation. Despite having changed, Tomoyo still has many people seeking to take revenge against her for her past actions.
Her goal to become student council president may be compromised if this reputation of hers is brought to light, and so for this reason, Tomoyo avoids unnecessarily bringing up her past, which she desperately wants to leave behind.
There’s one problem that always gets to Sakagami Tomoyo, and that’s the fact that it’s quite rough for her to act feminine and not "manly". Being girly is supposed to mean being weak, gentle, and needy. Tomoyo is a defender. She is independent and unbelievably strong, and as much as she tries to suppress that side of hers, her efforts never quite seem to work out perfectly, no matter how hard she tries to act and dress like a typical girl. Not surprisingly, it always comes as a great shock to her whenever she finds out that her behavior isn’t something a normal girl would do.
#History ;
The starting line…
Tomoyo was born in Hikarizaka on the 14th of October as the first child to two hard-working and doting business people. When she was three years old, her younger brother, Takafumi, entered her world. They got along fine, and being innocent little kids, they were generally good siblings to one other. They shared toys and had fun together. The section of town they grew up in wasn’t the best by any means, nor was it the worst. It did, however, neighbor another area infamous for its high delinquency and its frequency of gang fights. Children tend not to notice bad things in life, and like any normal child, Tomoyo, a bright and happy young girl, didn’t either.
A turn for the worst…
The good, fun, and carefree days inevitably had to come to an end at some point, and the start of the end began sometime in Tomoyo’s early primary school years. Her mother and father began to argue over petty things like food, groceries, and spending money. Perhaps it was the stress of their jobs that had begun to take a toll on their relationship. Although the arguments never escalated to the physical level, young Tomoyo would always be startled by her parents’ yelling. She spent many nights crying in her room, frightened by her arguing parents.
Time passed with these disagreements still present and building each day. Conflicts became commonplace and she grew to accept it as such. Her brother, Takafumi, seemed to share this similar desensitized view like his sister, but in reality, he could never fully accept it. He bottled up his emotions and distress over the situation, never complaining. More time passed and the frequency of arguments declined, but at the same time, daily conversation also stagnated and silence filled the household more often than not. By then, Tomoyo and Takafumi had grown emotionally distant from one another. Eventually, their mother and father no longer held any affection for each other at all. The home environment was always cold. No longer were there fights, nor were there any conversations. The relationship between her parents had just dissipated due to little problems piling higher and higher. Such a “family” as this could hardly be called a family.
Emotional outlet...
In junior high, Tomoyo took out her anger and frustration in the form of violence on just about anybody. It was the perfect emotional escape. She had become a delinquent just like those she was told to stay away from as a young child. How exhilarating it was to lose oneself with just one swift, strong motion of the legs, to leave an annoyance doubled over in pain. She left countless thugs and gang members bruised and hurting in dark street alleys. She was feared and hated by many. Tomoyo was physically strong, but emotionally weak. At the time, she didn't care. She had no reason to change her ways and nothing to keep her from being wild.
Shock awakening…
Everything changed two years ago when Tomoyo’s parents announced their plans for a divorce. The two quarreled over the custody of the children. While Tomoyo cared little about how it all would end, Takafumi did. All those emotions that he had bottled up from years built on top of years could no longer be held in. He did not want his family to be separated, and so without truly knowing why, he dashed out into traffic and was struck by an oncoming car. The dramatic ordeal immediately brought the Sakagami family together. While sitting by Takafumi’s hospital bed in a teary family embrace wishing for him to survive, Tomoyo and her mother and father finally realized what truly mattered in a family – love, the factor in their lives that had been missing for so long. This love was what prompted Tomoyo to abandon her delinquent lifestyle, change her ways, and become a respectable human being that others could look up to.
Renewed life…
Takafumi recovered and was released from the hospital in the spring. The Sakagamis walked down the road together, with Tomoyo pushing her brother in a wheelchair and their parents walking right along with them. Surrounded by the beauty of the Sakura trees and their softly falling petals, her brother said with a contented smile, “I want to come and see these Sakura every year with everyone, as a family.” It was a tender and warm moment of agreement for the entire Sakagami family.
A new goal and a new school…
Hikarizaka is a small town going through large, fast changes. New plans for development now threaten the same cherry blossom trees that are so important to Tomoyo, her family, and many other residents in the area who also admire the trees. Sakagami Tomoyo began her second year of high school as a transfer student to her new and current school, Hikarizaka High School, for the sole purpose of becoming the student council president just for a shot at preserving the sakura trees. Already quite popular among the student body, hopefully Tomoyo’s controversial past won’t come back to threaten her chances…

Ding dong dang dong…
The dismissal bell rang and students rose from their seats. The noisy buzz of chatter and conversation rose and filled the classroom as everyone filed out. They talked of normal things like club activities, sports games, and what they would do in the evening. It was just the end to another normal, if not mediocre, Tuesday.
Sakagami Tomoyo waved goodbye to her friends as she parted from them at the door. Since she wasn’t involved in any clubs, she would be going straight home. Perhaps she would go on one of her patrols later, but other than that, she wouldn't really be doing anything special today. Campaigning hadn’t yet begun for the position of student council president, but once it started, Tomoyo knew she’d be too busy to do much else.
For now, she walked down the hallway by herself. Of course, she wasn’t exactly alone. There were other students lingering around the halls. The gray-haired girl was stopped once by another second year student asking if she was interested in joining the judo team. Apparently they had noticed her athletic ability in gym class. Tomoyo declined apologetically, saying that she wouldn't have enough time to devote to a sport, but she wished him luck in recruiting others.
As she continued on her way, one conversation caught her attention. She slowed down and let her gaze find its way to a pair of two senior boys, identifiable by the blue patch they wore on the breast pocket of their uniforms. They towered over a much smaller freshman girl with long gray-brown hair, tied at the end with a big blue bow. It didn’t look like they were friends with the girl. Instead, it looked like they were ridiculing her. Tomoyo frowned.
"What the hell is this? A shuriken? How cute. Kyosuke, look, this little freshman girl wants to give me a present," one of the guys said, his voice holding a condescending tone.
Tomoyo’s eyes fell upon the girl again, who was holding out in her hands what appeared to be a wooden carving in the shape of a star. It did look like she was trying to give it to the guy, but he was being rather rude about it. The polite thing to do would be to take it, not sneer and laugh. However, most onlookers would have just walked right by the scene. It wasn’t really any of Sakagami Tomoyo’s business to tell the senior off, but it was a principle of hers to stand up for those being bullied.
“Hey! What do you think you’re doing, laughing to yourselves at this girl’s expense?” Tomoyo strode over and cut between them, her reprimanding stare slicing through the two seniors. “She’s being nice enough to offer you a handmade present, and you’re ridiculing her? Have you no sense?”
She turned to the freshman girl. “And you, please don’t feel too bad about them. Guys like them aren’t worth the effort.” Her voice was mellow and calm now and she talked as if the guys weren’t there anymore.
The males looked at each other wordlessly, and then as if suddenly realizing the silver-haired lady before them was a junior, they looked down at her with arrogant eyes.
“You’re seriously pissing me off. Get lost, underclassman, and treat your seniors with respect,” said the other boy, who hadn’t said anything besides malevolent laughter up until now.
By now, more students had congregated in the same hallway. Some of them watched the scene in interest. The two senior males were from the soccer team and were known for picking fights. The students also knew Sakagami was unbelievably strong. One time, some thugs had come onto the campus from a rival school, but she had taken them down easily. She had never fought students from her own school, though. This confrontation looked to be exciting, and so humans, being the barbarians they are, wanted to see some action.
Although Tomoyo didn’t back down, she didn’t want any trouble, either. She raised her left wrist and looked down at her brown leather watch, then turned her attention to the boys. “Don’t you have somewhere to be? Like sports practice?” she asked them plainly, though it was less of a question and more of a statement. She really wished that would make them leave. If it didn’t work, then she always had justified self-defense to fall back on if they decided to run at her.
