Sakura was sure of only three things in this world: cats were superior to any other animal, there was no such thing as "too much stuffed animals" (regardless of how much her aunt said there was), and lunch time was one of the best parts of the school day.
She actually used to hate it, mostly because the teachers never let her eat in the courtyard. They apparently needed to "keep an eye on her". It had always frustrated her to no end. They all acted as if she was going to attempt murder if they looked away from her for one second... which she supposed was fair, given her habit of attacking anyone who said anything even remotely mean, but it was annoying nonetheless!
Fortunately, none of the teachers at Hikarizaka deemed it inappropriate for her to eat her lunch out in the courtyard, so that's what she was doing. Her lunch was still half-full, but lay forgotten as she leaned against a tree and drew away on her sketchpad. She'd recently read a foreign book, from England if she remembered correctly, called Alice's Adventures In Wonderland and she wanted to draw the protagonist of the story.
She was finishing up the final touches to the sketch (she added a bunny motif on the edge of the skirt. No real reason, she just thought it looked cute.) when she heard a noise. She looked at up, and saw a person standing in front of her. They must've wanted to eat out here to. She just didn't understand why they would come out here so late into lunch.
"Yo," she raised her hand in greeting, but ignored the person for the most part as she looked back down at her drawing. It wasn't like they would really be talking to each other. She was busy with her drawing, and she assumed the other person would want to eat lunch in peace.
