Running.
That was all there was to it on that dark stained night of May. Strands of blond were to be seen fluttering in the many streetlights on the roads, soaring by in a wave like pattern before disappearing into the darkness. The concrete echoed with the squeaking of tennis shoes as the source grew farther and farther away from a home echoing with silence. Tension hung in the air heavily as the girl ran as fast as she could, her small hands balled up into tiny fists as she pushed herself to keep going - to escape the images that haunted her dreams day by day. Not a soul was to be seen on the streets other than her own and the few other investments that glittered with the golden lights that provided a wondrous warmth upon being bathed in it. However, the warmth only lasted seconds for the young girl as she passed through the lights and onto the next, using the poles as support to turn around the sharp angled corners and onto the next. Cheeks were wet from tears that were shed long before, and a heart that was beating with normality and steadiness instead beat with tension and depression.
No, I don't want to be alone again...!
Kazue's thoughts entrapped the caverns of her mind, chaining her into a never ending cycle of sorrow as she ran. The most recent strings of nightmares continued without waning notice after there was no sign of the one she deemed her friend. Densetsu Karu, a boy that had finally earned her trust, hadn't spoken to her in a while. It may have been more than a week's time but a friend would have spoken to the other by now, right...? Masumi was unsure of what to think of it all now and the state that she deemed to be rid of returned to chain her down once again. There wasn't an answer to where the girl was going or where she has been as Masumi was letting her feet carry her through the endless night. After what seemed like an eternity of running the young freshman finally came to a halt at a lonely and empty park lit by a single light.
Tilting upwards to gaze upon the warmth of the white beam, Kazue let the tears that were being held in flow. The crystal clear sign of a broken girl, a sob escaping her lips as she just stood there. There wasn't anyone that she could turn to now and even if she was fortunate enough to be graced with parents... she didn't take advantage of it. The problems, emotions, and thoughts were all rising up in a bottle. It was almost overflowing, needing to be released off the contents within to someone - anyone.
There wasn't for her, though. Even if her mother and father both reassured her that it was always alright to come to her for anything, she never took advantage of the offer. It was a simple and petty matter of wishing to never disturb them out of the fear that her problems wouldn't matter like she herself never did to anyone in the past. Kazue Masumi was scared of not only speaking about her problems, and feelings, but of being rejected constantly throughout the rest of her lifetime. Would this be it? Was she always meant to be riddled with the feeling of loneliness and heartache? The thoughts were selfish in a way, yes. Others had problems much worse than her own but Kazue couldn't care less about them...
Masumi just wanted to be free from the pain... and the loneliness.
