::Furukawa Sanae::
Type: Canon.
Age: 38.
Gender: Female.
Sexuality: Heterosexual.
Crushes: Akio. Tomoya when intoxicated.
Face Claim: Furukawa Sanae from CLANNAD.
Description:
Furukawa Sanae is thirty-nine years old and looks absolutely nothing like it. Her appearance gives off that of a high schooler, her skin being wrinkle-free and smooth. Sanae's hair is light-brown with two perked-up strands of hair standing on top of her head. She shares this trait with her husband, as well as her daughter whom she either passed to genetically, or who knows, it could just be something they do as a family for fun!
Sanae is average height, quite slim, and has a soft voice. Her appearance matches her personality. She is usually found wearing an apron, seeing as she enjoys to bake bread (albeit she is terrible at the trade). When not in an apron she usually has on the casual jeans and colored tee-shirt. Sanae's eyes are a deep brown, almost to the point of being red.
Sanae has huge boobs.
Personality:
Sanae-san is a very sensitive soul to say the least. It is a well-known fact in the neighborhood that Sanae's bread-baking skills do not excel (at all), but with such a loveable person as Sanae working the counter, it's hard for people to tell her the truth--that in reality, her bread is... well, pretty horrid. But it's an unspoken rule in the neighborhood to keep her spirits high and keep the love in the community strong, so they eat and compliment on a regular basis, and simply must pray that their loaf of bread this time was made by Akio.
While she is very sensitive and is quite disheartened when someone dis-compliments her baking skills, she is also a very loving and sacrificial woman who will do anything for her family, no matter what the cost, and considers it a great joy to sacrifice for her husband, daughter, and friends. Because of her deep love for others, she does her best to keep a warm, happy, and bubbly personality as much as she can, and tries to remain optimistic in all situations. Occasionally Sanae will express her sadness or grief, but only to those closest to her, mainly Akio-san.
Through her daughter, Nagisa, Sanae hopes to see her and her husband's dreams realized through Nagisa realizing her own dreams. Sanae's happiness depends greatly on the happiness of her daughter, and she hopes that Nagisa will grow up to be an amazingly beautiful young woman who follows her passions and fulfills all of her dreams.
History:
Furukawa Sanae, or Sanae-san as most of her customers call her, is a local teacher and baker in the town of Hikarizaka. She and her husband have been running Furukawa Bread for over ten years, and the residents of their small town have grown to know them quite well. Sanae's passion has always been to teach, and so she has a small class of children that have enrolled in Furukawa Tutoring. This is her secondary job that she does in addition to baking bread to help earn a living for her family.
Sanae always wanted to become a teacher, and so she completed high school at the age eighteen with a straight-A record. After that she attended a university for two years where she acquired a teaching degree. During her final year of high school she married the love of her life, Furukawa Akio, who she had been dating since the beginning of high school.
The couple spent a year and a half together when they were overjoyed to find out that they were expecting a beautiful daughter, and two months before Sanae-san received her teaching degree, she gave birth to Furukawa Nagisa. Sanae spent the next year teaching a class of young students and loved it so much that she wished to continue again the next year. Unfortunately, not all things worked out as planned, and Sanae was unable to work as a teacher that year seeing as she had to stay home and care for Nagisa, but the following year she was able to return to work with the help of baby-sitters and daycare services. It truly was her passion.
It was around four years later when one day Akio and Sanae both had jobs to do, and no one was available to watch Nagisa. Nagisa had been sickly and sleeping most of the day, so they thought that it would be alright if they left her sleeping for only a few hours. When they returned home, they found their precious daughter outside the house, laying in the snow, in critical condition. Sanae's husband took her out with him, and while she thought it would be best to take her to the hospital, she was so emotionally unstable about the fact that she allowed her job to become more important than her daughter that she couldn't think straight. She sat at home crying and weeping her heart out, but miraculously, Nagisa was saved!
After that, Sanae and Akio both realized that they had taken their jobs too far. They both quit and focused on raising their daughter, who's health declined greatly after that incident. Sanae believed that her bread-baking skills could carry the family, so she decided that a small business that wouldn't take much time away from Nagisa would be running a bakery, but it would still give the family enough to live a modest life-style. As the years passed on, Sanae-san has let Akio take over most of the baking, while she has started a small class that she teaches in their home as part of Furukawa Tutoring. Sanae and Akio gave up their dreams for Nagisa, but with a smile on their face. It wasn't painless, for certain, but it was for their daughter, and in the end, they picked that which was most precious to them.

The swoosh of an automatic door, soon followed by light footsteps accompanied by the sounds of outdoor birds chirping and children playing. This is the sound that echoes in the Furukawa bakery every time a customer enters the shop.
"Good morning, Sanae-san," greets the woman who comes seeking bread. "A beautiful day as usual in this city, yes?"
"Indeed it is," answers Sanae, wiping the sweat from her forehead as she releases her grip on the roller she has kneaded into a lump of bread. "Will you be having the usual today, Miya-san?"
"Yes, thank you," replies the elderly woman. She watches as Sanae stealthily packages the small loaf of bread and places it gently into a paper bag. Sanae proceeds to ring up the cost of the bread, then takes the money laying out on the table that has been counted and placed carefully by the elderly woman as a natural habit. The exchange of goods as well as a smile is made and the elderly woman bows respectfully, turning to head out.
"Please enjoy, and come again!" Sanae-san waves to her elder as she turns back to kneading her lump of dough.
"I hope this loaf is even better than the last one!" She says on her way out the door. Once a few feet away from the shop and out of ear-range she continues, "Yes, yes, I pray that it is much better... Itadakimasu!"
