Description:
Tanaka's appearance defines casual. His favorite outfit he has multiple sets of, so it's not uncommon to see him every day of the week without a change in fashion. Faded black tee-shirts are his comfy, cool tops with matching gray jeans. His favorite pair of shoes are a very light shade of gray--white at first glance--with two black straps fastening them down under the laces.
Tanaka-kun's most unique feature is that of his silver hair, which falls in front to his eyes, on the sides to his ears, and in the back to his neck. His hair is always sloppy, and the most he ever does to fix it is run a brush through it; that's why it's quite common to see Kierebu with cow-licks and the like.
Tanaka's eyes also stand out among your average person - they're black with a hint of dark blue. His eyes tend to attract girls of flirtatious natures, as well as his slim body. Tanaka's arms are skinny, his torso is slim, and is around 5'8". His pale skin burns easily in the summer, so he has to wear plenty of sunscreen, unfortunately meaning that he never gets much of a tan. When being honest with himself, Tanaka doesn't really care about his appearance, but tries, at least to some extent, to look semi-cool for the sake of not embarrassing his sister.
Personality:
Tanaka is not your happy, giddy, fanboy of modern times, often bordering on depression, but not to great extents. Tanaka's personality relies heavily on those around him, seeing as he is a people person in general. His deepest connection seems to be with his twin sister, Keishi, who he loves to spend time with. He smiles when she smiles, he laughs when she laughs... He simply wants to see her happy. When the twins are together, which is often to say the least, Tanaka's mood will usually be identical to that of his sister, and any time she's feeling sad he'll be right there trying to cheer her up.
Around girls Tanaka's just kind of laid back and doesn't really care. He's not really looking for a girl right now and doesn't care much for those who fall head-over-heals for him (which is an occasional occurrence with squealing, flirty girls). Usually whatever happy mood he's in will usually be ruined by a girl flailing over him.
Tanaka needs acceptance; he just wants to blend in with the crowd and life a normal life with his family at peace. Multiple times in his life as of recently Tanaka tried to go for a sloppier look stop grabbing attention of random by-standing girls and the occasional gay boy, but each time he quickly went back to his normal look seeing as he didn't want to concern his sister. Tanaka just wants those around him to be happy, and for those he loves most he will sacrifice anything to make them happy. He just wants to live at peace with those around him and not be looked down upon. Certainly, Tanaka is not the arrogant, boastful, and prideful type, but nothing hurts his heart more than a slap in his face or a dis-compliment.
Tanaka's relationship with his father is a tough one for him. Tanaka wants love and acceptance from his father, but feels conflicted on where he stands as for their relationship... Kierebu's mother died while giving birth to him and his sister, so Tanaka has always blamed himself for his mother's death and therefore has a conception that his father laments ever having him. This is enough in Kierebu's mind to make him hate his father, but for some reason, something is holding him back from absolute hatred... his mother. Pictures of his mother are one of the most precious things to Tanaka, and it's only because of the smile on her face in every picture his parents are in that he can resist complete rebellion and hatred towards his father. His mother loved his father, and that was enough to keep Tanaka from running away from the presence of his father.
On his own Tanaka is just melancholy... he's not depressed, just slightly saddened by his place in life right now; but he tries to be optimistic for the sake of his sister. Tanaka feels out of place in his family, and doesn't go out of his way to make new friends because he just sees them as more people he could mess up around--and that would just lead to more hurt. Kierebu doesn't know how he came to have the few closest friends that he does have... his sister, along with two other friends from his previous school, are the only ones he feels comfortable being around. He realizes that if he doesn't make active attempts of forming new friendships, he'll never be able to have friendships where he can just... act normal, but he doesn't really mind that... Tanaka is content with the three good friends he has. He realizes that he doesn't like to befriend new people in his life, and wishes things were different for him, but seeing as it's just him and he can't do anything about it... he remains melancholy when he is alone or by himself, seeing as no one else is there that he needs to stay on good terms with.
History:
Tanaka Kierebu, born 15 years ago, firmly believes that he is the one responsible for his mother's death. She died while in labor before delivering the children, so the doctors had to take emergency measures to save the twins. Growing up was a difficult challenge for Kierebu because his father did nothing more than clothe, feed, and shelter them from the rain. This lack of attention, which all children need to different extents, is the most likely cause for the great attachment that formed between the twins, who resorted to each other when they needed a shoulder to cry on, a favor to ask for, or someone to laugh with.
Little Kierebu was always a calm child; he never really cared for tag or basketball, but preferred less hectic and more isolated activities... when he was eleven he was climbing a tree out on his own after school after the babysitter had gone to make dinner. He missed a branch when stepping up and fell out of the tree and broke his left arm. When the babysitter heard him crying and rushed out, she suggested they go to the hospital to take a look at it, seeing as he couldn't move his hand or fingers. The young girl, who had been recently hired by Tanaka Ataru, their father, to watch the children while he was at work, had a great idea! It would make Kierebu cheer up and put him through less pain if they went to his father! Of course, the babysitter, being new to the children and not knowing much about them, assumed that seeing his father would be comforting to the child... and certainly, Tanaka would have been happy to get some attention from his father. Kierebu wondered how his father would react... and sure enough, when they arrived, Dr. Tanaka was in the room as soon as possible tending to his son. He X-rayed his arm, wrapped it up, and put a cast on it. Nothing could have made Kierebu happier. This moment was the one moment that Kierebu treasured in his heart, and it's his greatest hope that things might one day work out between his father and him.
Unfortunately, due to his father's job, Kierebu's life continued as it had been before the incident. It seemed to Kierebu that this broken arm was a great blessing, but as soon as he recovered, things turned back to normal. Two months after he fell out of the tree he became overrun with his emotions. He just wanted the love of his father that he had received when he had broken his arm... that's all he wanted, peace and love in the family. But his father's job took so much time that it seemed the only way to snag his attention is to become involved in that job... and that's when an idea struck Kierebu. He looked out the window at the tree he had fallen out of eight weeks ago. What if... what if he could do it again? He could just repeat the same thing over again! Sure, he was forbidden from being in the tree, but it was worth it to him. Anything was worth it. He climbed up, making sure this time to put his foot on the right branch, then stood up, looking down at the ground. He wasn't nervous at all, the pain was worth it, but something was stopping him. "Kierebu!" he heard... it was the babysitter. If it was her he would have jumped quickly. It was... his sister! "Kierebu," she said as she ran outside. "Would you come help me clean our room? Kiku's coming over." That was the moment that Kierebu finally just gave up. His father wasn't going to give him attention. Things would just go back to normal after time. His sister was the only one who payed any attention to him or cared about him anyways. This was the moment when he started to rely on his sister more than ever before.
Around the age of thirteen, Kierebu started getting lots of love confessions. It seemed like he couldn't make it two months without hearing, "Would you like to go out some time?" It often crossed his mind that he's got to start dating sometime, but something about the idea just seemed uncomfortable to him. He did not like the idea of spending time with a girl for multiple hours where he is the only thing they would pay attention to. What if he screwed up? It's just silly trying to go on a date. Yet it never failed... "Walk me home, Tanaka-kun?" "I have two tickets to a movie." What motivated them was almost certain to Tanaka; he thought it was just because they thought he was the school cutie. He was probably right, of course, but another highly likely motivation was the great pride it would be for a girl to be able to call all her friends and claim the position of first-girlfriend. Tanaka finally asked one of the girls why she wanted to date him and her answer was simply, "Because you're a cute boy and I'd like to get to know you." That's it! He just had to stop being cute! But... how do you do that? Kierebu had no idea, so he tried to scare them off... he went out and bought a set of gothic clothes, really hating the way they looked, and despising them on himself even more, but maybe it would scare people off and not put him in such awkward situations with others... but when he was trying the clothes on on the first day, his sister walked in and was so frightened by his clothes that he threw them out and never looked at them again. It's not as big of a deal to him as it used to be--these days he's used to just brushing off a request to go out and continues on his way. Does this make me weird, is a common thought of his, still in his current life unanswered...
Five months ago, while the Tanaka twins were close to finishing Junior High, their father gave them some news... "We're moving." Kierebu just stood and stared at his father. ...what. It was simply unbelievable. This year Kierebu had made a few (...or... two, technically.) friends in school and was actually hopeful that they might go to the same high school together. Plus, their family was here in this city! Why would they move? Well, the twins found that it was for, what else than, his job. That's what always affected him and his sister for the worse, or so it seemed.
This decision, which was certainly not unanimous in the family, was the last straw for Tanaka-kun. That Friday, he didn't return home after school. He had had enough of his dad's work ruining his life every time something happened. So Kierebu went home with his best friend. That night, the phone rang, and surprisingly it was Kierebu's father wondering where he was, but he made no request for him to return. I didn't think he'd care... When the mother hung up the phone she glanced over at Kierebu and smiled. "You're welcome to stay here as long as you want. I think I understand your situation better now." Kierebu stayed there for the weekend and returned to school the following Monday, where his sister was unavoidable, seeing as they were in the same class. It's not that he didn't want to see her, he just knew that if he did talk to her she would convince him to come home--and sure enough, she did, almost on the verge of crying. Truth be told, yes, Tanaka wanted to return home to his sister, even after a short two days. Deep down, he hoped that his running away would do something to his dad. "Next time you go to a friends' house, tell me beforehand," was the only response he got as his father walked out the door for work.
Kierebu was a mess. He had to find an escape somehow, so he turned to his friends for support, who had been working together to put on a play for the upcoming Junior High talent show at the end of the year... they had asked him multiple times if he would like to join, but he politely declined each time until now. He decided to give a shot. I mean, what could it hurt? So he joined in on the next practice day, and found himself enjoying this whole 'acting' thing... quite a lot! It was something so different than what he was used to. To Kierebu it was a way of escaping the realities of his melancholy life. He was able to look at the world from a different view: a view where, in the end, all the sadness is gone and he ends up living happily ever after.
They had two months to plan and practice for the end-of-the-year talent show, so three times a week their group of three or four would get together at each others' houses and practice, and sure enough, they delivered a wonderful performance at the talent show, ranking fourth place over all. It was so much fun, yet this was the end of all of it for Kierebu... no more of his friends in this town, no more drama with them, nothing. He did his best to enjoy their last day of school together, and was generally upbeat with the time he spent with his friends. His friends!
Finally, The day they were moving out their family and friends were going to come over to wish them goodbye and see them off on their way. Everyone was there except for one of of the twins' closest friends--the one that Kierebu wanted to say sayonara to the most. "He must be late," he said to his father and put a fake smile over his face to laugh it off. They sat there... waiting... and waiting, and he just didn't show. Kierebu finally just texted him asking him where he was, and he said he'd be a little late... At that moment Ataru had had enough waiting and got in the car and started it up. "We can't wait any longer, we need to go now." Sure enough, ten minutes after the car drove off, their friend arrived to an empty front yard.
Their situation now? Three months ago, at the beginning of summer, the Tanaka family moved to Hikarizaka. Tanaka had to leave three of his four best friends, who he had met at school through their drama project, which just gave him all the more reason to despise his father. But Tanaka stays in contact over email and letters with them nonetheless. When the twins enrolled in the local high school, Kierebu was distraught to find that he and his sister were in different classes--this was the first year the hadn't been in the same class! He couldn't think of anything worse than being in a class of strangers, especially without his sister. He certainly was not looking forward to this school year.

As King pulled in behind the dumpster, Oliver exited the car, listening carefully. He had his eyes closed, focusing all his attention on his hearing.[/blockquote]
"There's four men around the block. They're running away from someth-- Hey!" Oliver interrupted himself. "Where are you going?! KING! You can't just march right in!"
He continued though, ignoring Blastt's insisting remarks. Oliver stood watching as King just strolled right in through the back door of the casino. This isn't going to work as well as I thought...
Oliver slowly walked up to the building, keeping his hearing alert. He could hear all the talk in the casino, but proceeded through the door where King had entered. When he opened it he heard a small clang as the door scraped the side of a grenade laid so perfectly that it hit the door in a way that created such a small sound that only hearing as acute as Blastt's could have heard it. Blastt got a few looks from random people, and spotted King in the distance talking to some guy who looked like staff. Oliver strolled over to a dark corner enveloped in shadows and seated himself at a table, beginning to eavesdrop on the conversations going about. Two middle-aged men were discussing with each other something that reeked of good/evil swaps.
"The past is behind us. We need to move on."
"But what will Spear's reaction be? If we abandon the group he might be angry. And we can't afford that."
"Look, this whole gathering was initiated to help those who are leaving the Red--"
That tiny screech of the door hitting the grenade once again rang in Blastt's ears. There was something about that sound that he couldn't ignore. He looked to the door to see a young lady walking in with a severely injured man on her shoulder. She let him down into a corner then ran over to the same man who King had been talking to. Oliver was intrigued by this, and stood up rather quickly, trotting over to the young man. He was unconscious, and was bleeding profusely. He saw a piece of cloth sloppily tied around one of his wounds, but the other three were still pumping blood.
The shadows were enough to keep their vision covered. It was nighttime after all, and the casino was poorly lit. Oliver ripped a piece of his clothing off to tie around the injured man's wounds. The sound of ripping fabric was quite loud, but the strong will of Blastt kept the sound from traveling further than a foot away, and no one in the casino heard anything of it. Oliver tied it around the man's chest, but before he could finish tying the knot, he heard that same clanging sound of what he now knew to be the back door opening.
Four men in black, with shades and caps walked into the casino, then took their seats at the bar. Blastt focused in on the sound of their footsteps only to realize that these were the same four that he had heard running before. Only then was it that Oliver saw the shady figure of a pistol under one of the men's coats as he walked into the light shining above the bar.
Blastt focused his thoughts on his voice and the sound coming out of his mouth. He moved the sound waves to where he could see King, so that only he would hear the words. "King, there's four men dressed in all black sitting at the bar. One has a gun, so the others probably do too. I recognize them somehow, but I'm not sure who they are. I don't like the way this looks, though."
Oliver was snapped out of his concentration to the warm, wet, muffled feel of blood soaking through the cloth and onto his hand. He at was first surprised when he snapped out of his daze, mainly because the blood had seeped through the material as such a quick rate, but also because he heard someone approaching.
