#Personality ;
Personality is more than just how your character acts. This section tells us what your character thinks about, how they feel, how they behave, their relationships towards other people, and so on. When creating a character in this forum we very strongly advise you treat this character as a real person and not simply as a face with some traits attached to it. This site relies on its characters first and foremost. They should be able to grow, feel, and we in turn will feel things with them. That is the reason that this forum exists: to explore, enrich, and tell stories that matter.
It is not the staff's desire to be harsh with application reviews. However, because we cannot rely on some of the properties that other genres or forums have (supernatural abilities, intense drama, or a fantasy setting, to just to name a few) it is essential that the characters we have are as deep as possible. This does not mean they need to be complex. They don't need to have a 5-page backstory chronicling their intricate history. They simply need to feel real. If you could replace your character with a forgettable side-character from any other show or story, you may want to reconsider if your character is truly finished or if they could be developed some more. Of course, a character will likely not be fully developed before you have even begun RPing, as the entire point of RP is to develop the characters you have to greater heights. There should be some base for this to occur however, and you as the RPer should also work towards growing them. Just as any real person would do. If you need any help with this process, feel free to ask the staff for help, or consult the general community over in the Roleplay Development board.
#History ;
Use this area to describe what made your character who they are today. Explain the major events in their lives, how these things affected them or the people around them, things of note regarding their lives now, goals or dreams that they might have, etc.
Please see Our Setting and Our Rules for more info on the setting and any restrictions that may affect development on your character.

Your sample does not necessarily need to be written about your character. We only want a grasp on the type of writer you are, so posting work from another roleplay or project is permissible as long as its content doesn't break any of our site rules.
