Juliet "Julio" Persia ; Boarding School Juliet
#Name ; Amagai Makoto
#Age ; 16

#D.O.B. ; October 2nd, 1986
#Occupation ; High School Student
#Year and class ; 2-C
#Height ; 4'9"
#Physique ; Petite
#Hair color and style ; Short, brown
#Eye color ; Brown
#Clothing styles ; Makoto wears a lot of dark earthy tones, such as brown and forest green. He also thrifts most of his clothes. He can find loads of clothes with nice fabrics and textures for cheap and secondhand, which is awesome to him. Why wouldn't he want to get clothes he likes for cheap prices?
He's been told he dresses like a homeless person or a hitchhiker, but it works surprisingly well for him. He wears jeans that are just a little baggy, but still fit him pretty well overall. He also usually wears a huge green jacket with tons of pockets because he finds a ton of cool stuff and needs somewhere to put them, and random t-shirts that are usually too big on him.
He has a pair of big, worn-out brown boots. They're perfect for exploring and for muddy days. He also wears the fluffiest and most colorful socks, which completely contrasts with the rest of his style. If he has the option, he would probably rather go barefoot. He still loves his boots though.
#A more thorough description ; Makoto has always been short for his age. Standing at about four-foot-nine, he is one defined by a more petite and childish appearance. It's not uncommon for him to be mistaken for a few (okay, more than a few) years younger than he actually is. He's about the height of an elementary school student.
He has dark brown hair. His bangs fall between his eyes in a sorta v-shape, but are cut carefully so they don't obscure his vision. His hair is cut in somewhat of an a-line. It's shorter in the back, but gets longer towards the front. This isn't very noticeable unless he's turned to the side. He has large, soft-looking brown eyes.
#Personality ;Makoto is a very chaotic and unpredictable person. Nobody ever knows what he's going to do next, and whenever someone thinks they finally understand him he turns around and does something that just makes people even more confused about how he thinks. He has very little self-control and, if he has any odd impulse that will bring him happiness, he's probably going to act on it... well, unless it's at the expense at someone else. He's chaotic, but he's not a bad person. He'd never hurt someone else, whether it be mentally or physically, on purpose.
He's a bit of a cryptid. In fact, a lot of people question whether or not he's actually human. It's actually not that unreasonable of a thing to think. He doesn't act like anyone else — he manages to show up at the library seconds after it has opened, he appears seemingly out of nowhere whenever someone mentions him or talks about something he's interested in, and he's active at odd hours of the night. He is, unfortunately, completely human. However, he does like the idea of being some cool cryptic creature, so he isn't going to correct people if they think he is.
He tends to be very dramatic, but in a very casual and deadpan way. It's honestly hilarious. It also makes it impossible to tell whether he's joking or being serious about things. He also probably wouldn't tell you if you asked. For example, he'll go on a tangent about how he craves the sweet embrace of death and wants earth to swallow him whole... but he'll do it all with the most deadpan expression on his face. He also, despite how big of a deal he makes, gets over things super fast. It's rare to see him genuinely panicked or worried, so when he is, it's clear something is wrong.
He comes across as a bit creepy and unsettling. He's cute, definitely. That's an undeniable fact. There's just something slightly... off about him, that nobody is quite able to put their finger on. Perhaps it's his habit of seemingly just... appearing places, or the way he speaks or writes. It's not something that can be described easily. It tends to make people want to avoid him. He's not necessarily scary. It's more like... the feeling people get when they have to turn off the lights downstairs, and then they immediately run back upstairs afterwards.
Logically, they knew nothing bad is going to happen, but there's this deep feeling of unsettlement that lingers and makes them want to get out of that situation as quickly as possible. Makoto invokes those same feelings. He's a bit upset by this, since it's difficult to make friends, but part of him finds it absolutely hilarious. It's amusing to watch people get so creeped out by some shota boy who cries when he accidentally steps on his cat's tail. He's the furthest thing from intimidating. It's absolutely ridiculous that people find him creepy.
In fact, people have actually talked to Makoto would probably agree with this. He's still a little creepy (for reasons we'll get to), but it's really easy to brush that off as fun little quirks once you see how much of a compassionate and kindhearted person he really is. He's also much more innocent than people give him credit for. He still sleeps with stuffed animals, for crying out loud. He also seems to have a need to care for anything that he deems worthy... which is anything with a heartbeat, really. He just adores all living creatures.
It's very easy to impress or make him happy. He gets excited over the smallest things, and seems to have a love for all manners of trinkets. You could probably give him a bottle cap you find buried halfway in the dirt, and he'd think you were the best person on earth. Due to him adoring these kinds of things, his room is absolutely full of random little things. Bottle caps, pretty rocks, old cds (most of which don't even work), clovers and flowers. It should be messier, but he manages to arrange it in a way that looks aesthetically pleasing.
He has a weird obsession with murder mysterious and unsolved crimes. That's actually another thing that becomes apparent once you see his room — he has a bunch of old newspaper clippings pinned to his wall, and some old documentaries that he watches on VHS tapes. He also has a notebook full of his own theories about what happened. He'd honestly make a pretty amazing detective, which is exactly what he wants to be. His late father was a pretty famous one, and he wants to follow in his footsteps.
#History ;Makoto was born on October 2nd, to a happily married couple. They'd planned on having a kid sooner, but no matter how hard they tried, it just didn't seem to work. It was a miracle that they managed to get pregnant (ironically, long after they'd already given up). Their doctor even said that the chance of them getting pregnant was extremely unlikely, and it would probably never happen again. Since it took so long, his mother and father were already in their mid-thirties by the time he was born.
His mother was a stay-at-home mom. She used to work, but decided to resign after having her child. It was entirely her decision and she's happy with it. However, she also remembers the years she spent at her job fondly. She made a lot of friends there. His father, on the other hand, was a detective. He wasn't very well-known, but that would change in just a few years. He was almost scarily good at what he did, so it wouldn't take long for people to take notice of him.
Due to the nature of his father's job, he was often busy and didn't interact with his son as much as he'd like. That didn't mean he was neglectful. Far from it, actually. He always made time for Makoto when he could, and played a large role in his life, to the point of influencing his child's career choice when he got older. Unfortunately, as he become more well-known, it meant that he had less time for his child.
Makoto was only four-years-old and his dad was basically famous. He was known across Japan, and traveled a lot. He usually only interacted through phone calls. They were usually scarce, too. He really only called to say goodnight and tell them both he loved them. It was very rare for him to be home. He was gone for months sometimes. He always came back though, and Makoto and his wife were there waiting for him with a smile on their faces.
He didn't quite understand his father's work when he was a kid, but as he got older, he become more appreciative of what his father did. It was absolutely amazing. Whenever his father was home, they would talk for hours about all the stuff he saw (unless it was classified information, of course. No amount of pouting or begging could convince his father to show him those).
It was like this for years. Makoto's father actually started being home a lot more, because he was getting older and couldn't travel as much. He mostly focused on doing detective work near his hometown. It was a lot easier on him. He wasn't ready to retire. He could probably still go for another twenty or thirty years.
That is, until it happened.
It wasn't something anyone had expected. It felt unreal, even when they got the news. It seemed like a sick joke... but nope, there was evidence that it really happened. Hell, they even saw the body at the funeral. There was no denying what had happened, regardless of how much Makoto wanted to think it wasn't true.
Just a few months before Amagai Makoto's second year at Hikarizaka Private High School, his father was brutally murdered in a faraway town. It's made even worse by the fact that this is public knowledge — most, if not all, people know who his father is. They're also fully aware that he's his son. Hikarizaka isn't a huge place, either. Word travels fast.
It only happened recently, so he's still dealing with the trauma of everything. He's got ways to cope, though. I mean... they aren't necessarily healthy, and he's fully aware of it, but he thinks it's better than actually confronting and dealing with what happened in a healthy way.The Roleplayer's Corner
#Nickname ; Kae
#Gender ; Female
#Roleplay Experience ; I don't really roleplay all that much, but I write short stories a lot, so I'm at least experienced in that aspect. I also have tons of original characters.
#Experience with Clannad ; I'm still near the beginning of the show.
#How did you find us? ; I was searching up roleplay forums.
#Sample Writing ;Makoto was bored.
Well, perhaps bored wasn't the right word. That would indicate he felt some sort of emotion at the moment. He looked towards the night sky, eyes devoid of any emotion. He didn't feel anything. It was just...numbness, a complete detachment from humanity. It was awhile since he last felt like this.
He didn't miss the feeling (if it could even be considered that). It made him feel inhuman, like a monster that was incapable of feeling. He didn't even have the energy to do the things he normally liked to do during his late night walks, like search for little trinkets that people threw out. It was weird. He wanted to do it, but he just kept walking forward, as if he wasn't in control of his own body.
He sighed and kicked a pebble that was on the side of the road. He should've picked it up. Oh well, too late now. He just needed to wait for this to pass. It always did eventually, and he would forget it even happened in the first place. The process would probably work a lot faster if something interesting were to happen, though...
