#Physique; Petite - Hikari has developed into the physique she will carry as a young woman for years to come. No longer growing and sustaining a stable weight count for a while, she is one defined by a more petite and nearly childish appearance at first glance.
#Hair color and style; Hikari's hair color is strawberry blonde that can sometimes even be seen as pink, depending on the lighting of the environment. It is styled in a bob-cut with the end strands curling inward over her shoulders slightly while the bangs reach the tips of her eyebrows.
#Eye color; She carries a pair of light brown eyes that carry the average distinction and features common among the Kaname lineage.
#Other appearance details (optional); One of Hikari's most distinguishable features (if anything else at the time) are the pair of red, thick-rimmed glasses that rarely ever leave her face. Being born with a poor sense of sight Hikari has always worn these glasses throughout her youth, only to take them off to clean them or take them to a shop to be patched up and polished. Another more hidden feature of the Kaname is the bandages wrapped around the palm of her right hand. It is rarely noticed by others because of the choice of clothing the young woman proceeds to carry out, and the history behind what is lying underneath remains a mystery to everyone but herself and her family.
#Clothing styles; In school, Hikari adorns the usual Hikarizaka High uniform even if the sleeves are nearly too long - almost hiding her hands underneath the fabric. Along with the uniform regarding the leggings, the young woman adorns black tights or similar hosiery.
Regarding clothing style outside of school, the Kaname is rather relaxed yet studious regarding her choices. She has been seen to wear her trademark, loose pink cardigan over a matching set of clothing ranging from blue to soft red. There are days where she can also be seen adorning a vest-like sweater over her attire of whatever long sleeved shirt she is bearing along with a skirt - another trademark piece of clothing Hikari is seen wearing almost anytime one catches her on the streets no matter the weather. The taste in clothing she carries doesn't match what other girls are interested in and cares less regarding her own appearance as she prefers to be simple, but she still keeps up a reasonable and desirable appearance for others.
#Personality;
A klutz at heart, Hikari's reputation has formed to be one of the most clumsiest girls around. From tripping over her own two feet to hitting herself in the head while carrying out the simplest of gestures, the youth cannot seem to go one day without clumsily messing something up. Even if it is the easiest of tasks that can't possibly have a way to go awry, the Kaname can find a way to make it so. It is with this trait that others have learned to not trust her with fragile items and objects of any kind. Despite this unique side to herself, Hikari is rather soft spoken yet kind to the core. Upon getting to know this third year, one can find that she is the type to put her faith in all with the belief that each individual has goodness within them. Even if it is a naive belief, it is difficult to change or sway the beliefs of this particular Kaname. She carries a great interest in all forms of music and it is easy to capture her attention by any form of it.
She has also been known to be very patient with stressful situations and endeavors. Even if she does grow to become rather disappointed with herself for how clumsy she can be - putting herself down in the process - she bounces back within moments and tries to turn the situation from a dull negative to a hopeful positive. This trait seems to stem throughout the Kaname family along with the trademark eye color - save for her mother. Hikari does not carry any particular hobbies besides taking strolls outside of school, and reading books centered around the subjects of History and/or Science. Despite the embarrassing struggle of her glasses never ceasing to slide down the bridge of her nose from time to time, the third year enjoys to read those particular subjects and no other.
The Kaname family are an optimistic group of individuals who go about life with silly and bright personalities. If Hikari was asked about life with her family, she would express that there has never been a dull moment for even a second with them around. Despite how they all are not stern regarding religious beliefs and traditions, they still carry few beliefs and occasional visits to the shrine with their best interests. The youth's family life has also been laid back despite the occasional hectic and silly moments that are bound to occur with the passing days, a theory by her father with him stating that this very silly side to them may be where Hikari has developed her uniquely clumsy trait; one that she gets teased for on the side. It is with this that the young woman has carried on an overall good and healthy life, and it shows with the trademark smile she bears everyday that rarely fades with others roaming about.
Hikari Kaname is one to stay friends with someone to the end no matter what the result may be. She is not one to leave anyone behind and rarely gives in without a fight. Albeit the fact that she does not have many friends - most having graduated already and continuing forth with their own lives - Hikari stays true to the promise of staying happy for the ones she cares for dearly. The girl is pretty laid back regarding friendship and doesn't mind said connection as long as it isn't harmful to herself, the other individual, or others. There has been no history regarding a connection with love but there is interest lying underneath the girl's pale form. If one were to even talk about the subject with her, she would grow shy as the color of her cheeks would turn a soft pink upon delving deeper into the wonders of romance - going so far as for her to even stutter at the thought of having to experience something so intimate both emotionally and physically. The first few steps one would take regarding the matter is having to be friends with her and to build a comfortable connection before working the way into the possibility of an intimate relationship. It is unknown to Hikari just how exactly she would behave in such a romantic relationship, but she has pinpointed that she would most likely behave rather shyly.
As stated before, Hikari has always bore an interest in the subjects of History and Science. There was no deciding factor or origin that helped push the love for the subjects to bare fruit. From the start, she simply excelled in both subjects without rarely any trouble and has grown a fondness for them as time passed. Albeit that she struggles with Math tremendously, it is thanks to her previous teachers that she has been able to make it to her third year without too much of a hassle. It is those very tutoring sessions alone that convinced the Kaname to follow in her teachers footsteps, the desire to help students birthing at the very end of her second year. It is not uncommon that mostly third years come to her regarding assistance with Science now, yet she tutors all three grade levels with those two subjects only.
However, there is on fatal weakness that rarely anyone knows of. Hikari is one who tends to hide her pain behind the optimistic personality she has always carried. Whether an issue is tearing her up inside, or simply needing a shoulder to cry on, the girl has simply retreated within herself regarding seeking out solutions for each problem. Even if it was a crisis or an emergency, Hikari will attempt to figure out the proper route herself unless it was absolutely necessary to seek aide; even then the only ones she would turn to are her family members. Having been one to put her friends first before herself, the trait simply developed without warning over the years. It is with this side of herself that can be a deciding factor of whether she keeps herself intact, or shatters from the tremendous burden of carrying those problems on her shoulders for years that may come.
#History;
Hikari Kaname's life began rather normally without trouble for a fair portion of it. There were no troubles regarding birth and the youth developed rather admirably among her parents, aunt (on the father's side), and grandparents (a set from both the mother's side and the father's). It was easy to communicate with others and she had rarely gotten picked on by her peers at a young age. Then one day, the once normal and uneventful life had then slowly begun to change around Hikari - much to the child's confusion. As the days progressed, the girl began to notice at the young age of five that she was beginning to lose focus of her vision. Objects that she could see perfectly from nearly a mile away began to fade out of focus until it was just a blob or blur.
The girl kept trying and trying with each passing day to identify certain objects from afar at school with her own time, but there was no luck. It wasn't until the point that the young girl couldn't even read the words on a paper that her teacher had given her that the issue was discovered in its latest stages at school. The teacher had brought up her concerns to Yu and Mitsuru Kaname in a scheduled parent-teacher conference, and the two took their daughter to see an eye doctor without terrible delay with their utmost gratitude to the teacher for catching the issue.
Upon examination, the doctor had proclaimed that the child was no doubt losing her vision. He listed the ways he could prevent the matter to the parents and they agreed to whatever method was the least harmful if not least painful. With regular visits and the occasional treatment - save with plenty of curiosity on Hikari's part - the erosion of the girl's vision was finally halted with success. Despite the truth that there wasn't a way to regain what percentage of vision that had been lost, the doctor had prescribed Kaname with a pair of thick, red-rimmed glasses that were designed specifically for her eyes. From the moment the youth had slipped the glasses on her eyes brightened in joy at the clear truth that she could regain the focus of her vision in this matter again. Since that day, the girl has rarely been seen without them off since.
The rest of the young woman's life from that point onward had little trouble to be found. She developed a love for Science and History without any specific kickstart or particular reason along the way, and developed the hobby for taking the occasional stroll around the town after spending much time outside when she was in her Pre-K years. It was also around the age of fifteen that she was blessed with two younger brothers named Haku and Kiku, having developed the trait of being patient with the energetic identical twins that constantly ran about with excitement filling their lungs. It is also with the optimistic and silly family that Hikari developed the trait of being rather clumsy without warning, finding herself in many embarrassing situations and troubling times at school with the occasional lectures from certain teachers of how she needed to be more careful. Along the line, the girl had also gotten used to helping others before herself which developed the rather concerning trait of her hiding her pain and burdens from everyone. The reason as to exactly why the Kaname does such a thing is unknown to everyone but herself, and will continue to stay that way unless someone finds a way past that concrete barrier.
The bandages wrapped around the palm of her right hand are mostly hidden by the choice of clothing the girl wears - long sleeves of any kind no matter the weather. Said bandages started appearing on her hand when she was a mere first year in Hikarizaka. It has been rumored by the few that have seen them that there are the slightest hints of a faded red on the inside of the palm, yet the truth is uncertain as the bandages appear clean whenever one tries to confirm the rumor by studying the Kaname's hand from afar. To the present, it has been a mystery to all but herself. With time and a very deep connection can the truth finally be revealed as to the origin of the bandages that have been wrapped around her right palm for more than two years.
It is now in life that she is a third year at Hikarizaka High and a tutor for the two subjects she loves, unaware of what fate has in store for her now.

"Ah...!"
THUD!
A petite form sprawled against the cement floor of the school grounds, a soft and gentle expression of momentary pain escaping pink tinted lips. Childlike arms stretched outward along the surface as a pair of lower legs pointed up to the calm blue sky above. Red rimmed glasses were resting promptly near the body of the feminine figure while strands of strawberry blonde hair gently blended in with the nest of her head. Other students that were on their way to lunch or other areas that caught sight of the most recent blunder either laughed or gossiped among themselves. Much to their amazement of the female's fall, no one dared to life a hand to help her up.
The young woman had tripped over her own two feet - again.
The girl simply lied in a momentary lapse of pain before gathering the willpower to rise up to rest on her knees, particles of a red blush apparent on the bridge of her pale nose from impact. With a soft grasp by the tips of her fingers, the girl rubbed the bridge of her nose to ease the aftermath of the pain settling in before taking note of something missing from her face - something very important.
"My glasses! Oh goodness!"
In a fit of worry, the girl known as Hikari Kaname began to pat the ground for said object. It was a near understatement to fit that she was as blind as a bat without the glasses. Even if their bright color of red was hard to miss even with a vision that wasn't anywhere near admirable, Hikari was still having trouble pinpointing the location. As the moments passed - unknown to her that students were laughing at the sight before them - the Kaname feared she would never be able to locate the pair before the lunch period ended. Much to the kindness of a stranger, however, the glasses was shoved right in between her petite hands as the clicking of footsteps grew ever more distant. A gasp of surprise escaped the depths of her throat before grasping the handles of the glasses, slipping them on her face where they truly belonged. Releasing the momentary strain off of her light brown eyes, the strawberry blonde began to search the environment for the one responsible for returning such a precious item to her. There wasn't any hope from her position on the ground and there wasn't a good enough look at the stranger. The girl then sighed softly and arose to her feet while brushing a few loose strands away from the front of her face. A soft smile graced her lips at the thought that just recently dashed across her mind, a vibrant color within her eyes.
"Who says there isn't goodness in everybody?"
