The profile, in case nybody's interestedIn a nutshell, Takashi's an odd person, and not the kind of person you'd expect to be a teacher. However, he's more than likely able to help you out, just as long as he knows your face. Just don't expect him to do names. I was thinking that I have him organise an Ancient History Club after school, for interested parties. First years would be taught on Tuesdays, second years on Wednesdays, third years on Thursdays. As he's only just been able to finish the course for it and get permission form his higher-ups, he needs help setting it up, advertising it, and generally getting things in order. He's about as organised as a bus schedule, you see.

Ah...
Dangit, I don't know exactly how to connect my characters to you. XD
Ayumu, my OC, will probably get along with your teacher's temperament (he's pretty tolerant... wait, really tolerant), but... well, he's not very keen on History, unless it drifts to legends and stories and stuff.
Fujibayashi Ryou... well, since she is a class representative, she'll have to deal with him sooner or later, but probably not in that club he plans to create, unless he convinces her. Before that, he could interact with her in a class? Although that would require the other people in her class (Sunohara, who we don't have yet, although possibly NPC? and Okazaki) to be involved. Well, maybe teacher-ly errands...
Sigh... it's been so long since I plotted, so bear with me ;_;

This is the problem with having a teacher. He's about as hip as flare pants with rhinestones.
Well, ancient history's pretty interesting. I think. What if he somehow managed to bribe/blackmail Ayumu? Bribe him by saying he'll put a good word in for him for something, or blackmail him by casually mentioning the paper he never turned in. Something like that.
As you said, Ryou's pretty much a given, seeing as how she's the representative and all. Sunohara I could probably convince with some poppycock about how the girls would look up to someone willing to assist the "cool" teacher. Tomoya's a tough one, though, given that he's not exactly the most cooperative person when it comes to school matters, though I'm guessing Ryou might be able to convince him. That, or there's the prospect of what would happen to him if Kyou ever found out he refused to help out her sister.
...Is it wrong that my ideas mainly revolve around threats, blackmail and twisting words to convince other people?

Organizing a club sounds like a good idea but you could actually do a bit more with this. To be perfectly honest I'm fairly certain the students come up with the club on there own and then approach a teacher to act as an adviser (as every club requires an adviser and usually only one adviser per club). So if you'd like you could have it be that there already exists a history club and he was asked/is the adviser for it. Again though, clubs are a bit different from classes, so while he may still be teaching, the students are the proactive ones with the passion to make the club in the first place. In this way, while some students might snore at the thought of history, you can assume anyone in the club is there of there own will, and thus is genuinely interested, but at the same time it means the teacher doesn't have complete dictatorial control and the students have a lot of pull in what they decide to do. This definitely does not have to hinder your plans though. He can be just as passionate for the club and want to advertise, set up, and keep things in order, but just something to keep in mind is that when it comes to clubs, it's generally more for the students.
Of course there's always the classes. He could teach multiple classes and in that way you can technically interact with any student in the school. Granted, in a professional setting. I can name a few rabble rousing characters on the site right now that could make for interesting threads if they happen to be taking history at the time with your character.

Fair deuce, but honestly, I'd need something where the teacher has an active role, as opposed to a supporting one. If a history club's already set up, that's all well and good, and being an advisor it wouldn't be a problem. But, problem is, I've already had it arranged that I teach third years, so spontaneously deciding to teach whoever, whenever, might not sit well with everyone. I'd love the opportunity to try and teach the more... unique... members of the student body, but unless they're in their third year, some edits will have to be done to my form.

Hrm, don't really have much to add after all that Vivo said...
Since you'll be teaching third years, it seems Ayumu's out, considering he's a second year, though they might bump to each other once or twice in a blue moon. : P
So I guess I'll be meeting you primarily with Ryou. She might not specifically like or dislike History, if you're still going with the club bit, but she'll probably be easily drawn, specially with a teacher that can't remember student's names XD if not, well, she'll still meet him in classes and stuff.
Also, I think you can be the adviser of a club not that related to your subject...

To be honest, I'd have loved to be able to teach every year, but logic said that'd be a bad idea. World/ancient history rarely takes precedent over knowing your own country's history in the curriculum, unless it's something like a world war. So it's more something that third-years would take to make their resumes look more impressive.
After some thinking, I'll probably be going with the club, even if the students would be more active in it than I. On one condition - we have a snack break halfway through each club meeting.
Now, let's be honest, here. Who'd appoint Hakamichi as their club adviser, if his ability to keep the job is in question?

Somebody who desperately needs a club adviser... agh, that sounds like Drama Club XD but that will take the bit about sharing Koumura... ;_;
Nobody's posted ideas for their clubs yet, though...

Well then, I guess we should form a club. Doesn't have to be a history club, mind. Just something it would make sense to have Hakamichi be the advisor for.
I'm thinking we do a drama club, like you said, or we do a club for an activity that no other teacher would be the advisor for. You know, like a board game club, or a starfish appreciation society.
