*DYNAMIC MANANA POSE*
Well, hello there, ladies and gentlemen (and variations thereupon). I am Manana, a new user on this forum. I won't say much about me, but I'll say that I've been at this roleplaying thing for a few years, I'm attempting to learn Tagalog (and failing miserably, I might add), and I'm also an up-and-coming spriter. I look forward to playing with you all.
Oh, and if anyone's wondering, I'm practically clueless about Japanese culture. I'll do my best to play it out, but there's no guarantee I can pull it off.

Welcome to Dango Daikazoku! Don't let the slow activity sway you; we're working to get it back in gear and RP more encouraging than ever (with ideas and discussion that you could definitely add to/suggest). Though, you've been around for years? That's mad crazy. What made you not want to join until now? Not that it's a problem. A new face is still welcomed even if they've been lurking for a while. I'm not too knowledged on Japanese culture myself (I play a foreign exchange student from America, so this helps) so don't sweat it. It's modern-day based (2003 to be exact) and not Feudal, so there's not too much you have to worry about. I'm sure morals are a lot more old-fashioned and strict, yet Japanese people tend to be more open-minded as a whole (most not all), but honor and respect still plays a role. The school isn't like your typical American school (to the chagrin of Avery); it has its own drama and teenage shenanigans but there's a chance you can actually be kicked out, which is the biggest difference between the schools in the RP (Japan) and in the West. Respecting teachers and rules is more advised but that doesn't mean you can't play a bully/rule-breaker/delinquent. Just be careful and secretive. Anymore questions, please ask.

Welcome to the family, Manana! : ) My name is Celena, nice to meet you.
I used to sprite quite a bit back in the day (haha, just like last year...) so I'd love to see some of your sprites! You'll learn Tagalog as long as you stay passionate about it. Any reason why you chose to learn it?
Also, it's fine if you're clueless about Japanese culture. That's the fun part of RPing unfamiliar situations. You get to learn so much!

Well, I meant RPing in general, actually. I've just been drifting about forums for a while, settling in ones I like. I've been looking for something vanilla for a while now, and Clannad's got that in spades. Apart from that bit with all the magic, but that's hardly the point. As for ideas and whatnot, I'm more of a follower than a leader, but if anything springs to mind, I'll be putting it up in a flash. I plan to play a teacher, if possible, so it's more a worry of how he manages to actually keep his job when he's known for not even being able to remember his pupils' names. That's the fun part of RPing unfamiliar situations. You get to learn so much! Well, they're not exactly my original sprites, per se. I tend to mix and match various parts of different sprites, to make soemthing different. I mixed a Pidgeot and a Beedrill, once. I decided to learn it because it's my mother's first language. I always felt guilty that I never bothered to learn it, while she had had to learn English, so I decided that now was as good a time as any. Well, I hope to play a teacher, so maybe it'll work both ways. Possibly.

Waaaaaait. Tagalog? That's from my country, huh... so your mother's from the Philippines? : P Haha. I might be able to help you with that... but that's not why you registered, huh?
Saz here. It's short for Sazanami, which is Japanese for 'ripple', or so I heard... I'll echo the sentiment that we don't really know that much about Japanese culture... in my case, mostly from anime and similar sources, so it's a totally amateurish knowledge, possibly supported with a little credibility from a Japanese elective I once took. I'm well aware my sources aren't terribly realistic, tehe.
So, uhh... welcome~ I think I'm the person who's been here the longest... hahaha *nervous laughter* That doesn't mean I'm old, does it? I play an OC and Ryou (she hasn't seen much action recently... I need a Kyou ;_;).
Yes, there's the magic-thingy of Clannad, but since it's a deus-ex-machina sort of magic, we'll have to work a bit to get there... except for the case of Fuuko, probably. Teacher, huh? Well, there are all sorts of quirky instructors... maybe he gets by with just faces? XD A class roster with nicknames like 'blondie'... XD
What else? Hmm... I'm the resident Nagisa-fanboy... or is that my OC? It's sometimes hard to tell apart. Ahahaha.
Also, I like mangoes more than bananas.
Nice to meet you!

Sorry that I'm a little late, but welcome to Dango Daikazoku Manana! My name is Miyu and I play Sanae Furukawa and Kazue Masumi. It's nice to meet you!
This place may seem a little slow at the moment, but like Avery said, we're doing what we can to get it back up and active again. It's great that you're learning your mother's language. I have to agree with Celena: As long as you keep trying, I'm sure you can do it.
That's a rather unique sprite. I've never even thought of combining Pokémon like that before. XD
Though, if you have any questions or need some assistance we'll gladly help you out. I hope that you have fun here! (And don't worry about not knowing much about the Japanese culture. (^ ^))

I'm still learning the basics, though - my greetings still sound heavily accented. I wouldn't know how that would sound to someone who speaks it as their first language, but I can imagine. Don't expect me to play Kyou. I tried playing a girl once, and that didn't end well at all. Even if she does act more like a bloke... Given how some of the FCs look on this site, I can only imagine the fun I'll have coming up with Dr. Cox-style nicknames. Let's see how many male students I can call a girls' name before he gets a warning from higher-ups. Well, are mangoes rich in potassium? Didn't think so. Oh, I've got more where that came from. None of them look nearly that evil, though. Apart from the Toxicroak ewith the Joker's colour scheme, but that's besides the point.

Hi there.
My first thing to say is: welcome, and hope you come here to stay.
I am Genji Akira (at least my name in Kanji (Chinese characters) can be pronounced that way), so please call me Akira.
I am currently have three active characters (all original): Narukami Akira, Fuukami Iryna, and Kirishima Anzu.
(Anzu is currently in need of more plotting)
Good luck with learning Tagalog. If you have any questions, especially about Japanese culture, you can ask me, too.
Cheers.

I'll make sure to come to you with any questions, but in the meantime, I think I#ll do my best to learn it myself. Learning about different cultures is its own reward.

I'm a little late to the party, but I wanted to say welcome as well! ^_^ Your character looks pretty interesting, and I'm curious to see what you do with him!
Tagalog, huh? That's pretty cool. c: My step-dad is Filipino, but he doesn't speak it at all. I get what you mean about feeling guilty and wanting to learn your mother's native language. My mom's side is Korean, and I wish I had started learning Korean earlier, because it's difficult to talk to my grandmother. I find languages fascinating, probably at least partly because I'm interested in linguistics and majoring in teaching English as a second language. xD Good luck with your language learning! ^^
I hope you enjoy it here, and don't hesitate to ask questions! :3

A man who can recount numerous historical events with the only mistakes being in the sources, but can't remember the name of a student that's listed on a scrap of paper he's holding. I've never been good with languages at all, really. I even have a little trouble with English at times, and considering that it's my first language, that's a little troubling. I'll stay here, no worries. It's not like there's anywhere else to go, anyway.
