face claim ; Jun Imai - Yonen Buzz

#Name; Yukimotou Takumi
#Age ; 18
#Gender ; Male
#Sexuality ; Heterosexual
#D.O.B. ; 14th April 1985
#Occupation ; Student
#Year and class ; 3-C
#Height ; 5’10”
#Weight ; 128lbs
#Physique ; Average, somewhat on the scrawnier side.
#Hair color and style ; Most describe his hair to be a dirty-blond colour, due to it having brown streaks running through it in places. He doesn’t really do anything with it, so it’s simply a mess, albeit a mess that works with his image
#Eye color ; Grey-blue
#Clothing styles ; Takumi’s clothing of choice follows a very traditional trend in his preferred music taste, although he hasn’t kept up with the trend in recent times. His baggy clothes also make him look a little larger than he actually is, which is a bonus. He loves sleeveless tops or band t-shirts, with a hooded jumper over the top if the weather is particularly cold, while his bottom half is simply a pair of jeans; the baggier the better.
#A more thorough description ;One could be forgiven for mistaking Takumi for being older than he actually is; his beautiful crystallesque grey-blue eyes are sunken in, usually with rings and bags beneath them from lack of sleep. His body is scrawny and slumped, his skin is pale and his facial expression is usually that of near lifelessness, showing all of the signs of a defeated individual who decides to merely 'exist' rather than 'live'. His hair is straw-like, and it's colouring nowadays isn't much different.
In contrast, his body when he was healthy was rather muscular (albeit still somewhat on the scrawny side), and he once stood at 5'10", somewhat average for his age. His hair was a dirty blonde colour, usually kept shoulder length or to the base of his neck, with his fringe barely covering his shining eyes - eyes that burned with desire and ambition. His preferred clothing has always been baggier clothes, usually consisting of sleeveless tops or band t-shirts, and usually with a hooded jumper over the top in the colder weather.
#Personality ;
Lifeless. Emotionless. Pointless. Three words that describe Takumi in a nutshell. But he wasn't always this way, and a part of him hopes he won't remain this way.
Behind his brittle and worn exterior lies the real Takumi; a young man who wants nothing more than to achieve, live happily, and enjoy everything in the years that are laid out before him. Music is his one love, the only thing that has remained with him through his transformation from an outgoing, hardworking and much-loved individual into a depressive, self-involved delinquent.
Takumi's outer personality is not a pretty one. He doesn't live. He doesn't want to live. He simply exists, passing through the days purely out of habit, a ritual his body had become accustomed to. He rarely speaks, not even when spoken to. But when he does, the recipient/s of his words are usually left reeling and disgusted at his language and his attitude. Day in, day out, all that keeps Takumi alive is his music; he sits in a music room every day, in his bedroom every night, and simply releases his soul using his guitar and a variety of vocal techniques he learned before his depression. He see’s music as a true constant in life, and as a final way of expression when words simply can’t portray what he’s trying to say.
Takumi is not all he looks though. As his music suggests he is actually a very deep soul who is subconsciously trying to claw his way back to reality. Before his depression Takumi was a hard worker and was surprisingly intelligent, always coming in the top quarter of his class in tests. His attitude was forever positive, forever focussed on his future. He was always sarcastic, but it used to be only in a playful manner. His friends and his family were everything and, despite being a major wind-up merchant towards them, he would always try his best for them no matter how much they declined his assistance. However his stubbornness was as much to blame for his downward spiral as the tragic events were. He always refused help, always wanted to be independent and get through things himself.
Takumi was also quite the flirtatious individual, although he was always rather subtle about it so as to get away with it easily. He always finds it easier to talk to, and to open up to girls. It is also worth noting that, while he completely rejects even the sheer notion of someone helping him, he was usually the first person to jump in to help others out.
#History ;
Takumi was born in Hikarizaka to loving parents. A simple family, his mother was famous locally as an artist, but preferred to remain local so as to not disrupt Takumi's life. His father was the head chef in the top restaurant in the town, and so was forced to work ridiculous and unsociable hours. Regardless of this, Takumi's father always made sure to take Takumi out on any days he got off of work.
His early school years and even his middle school years seemed blissful to Takumi, and from day one he was praised for his singing. At the age of 12 he first picked up a guitar. It belonged to an older student who caught Takumi attempting to play chords he'd seen his favourite musicians playing. Despite his rudeness at using the student's instrument, the older boy offered to teach Takumi some basics. It was later in that year that he was bought his first and only guitar, and from there his music and his ambitions flourished.
High School is where things began to turn sour. Despite his hard work, Takumi was occasionally bullied by older students, and it was only once he'd made friends from a variety of years and classes that he felt confident enough to stand up to them. After many months, Takumi finally freed himself from the bullying, and quickly became a highly respected student. His second year was considerably tougher; his father was killed in an accident at work a near the end of the year, leaving Takumi and his mother devastated and without income. Things spiralled downhill fast. His mother grieved daily, leaving Takumi to fend for himself until he was taken in by his grandmother halfway through the third year. His mother was eventually taken to hospital to recover from mental and physical sickness.
The shock of such a massive change in such a short time hit the boy hard, and he began caving in on himself. It was during this time that he hit his depression; he stopped attending school so regularly, his personality changed completely, and eventually he was told he would have to repeat his final year due to lack of attendance. He'd pushed away all of his friends, has yet to even visit his mother since his move to his grandmothers, and so repeating the year is a whole new start for Takumi.The Roleplayer's Corner

July 18th (Thursday) 2002
A volley of distorted chugs, snare cracks and cymbal crashes, bass runs and unclear, cryptic sounding vocals could be heard right down the corridor of the music department. Even with the door shut and muffling the sound it was clear the music room at the end was in use and it that was being used to the maximum potential.
In the room were four individuals upon their instruments. One of them was Takumi Yukimotou, an ambitious third-year who had been picked out on numerous occasions for his musical talent. The seventeen year-old's head was down, his hair allowed to hide his face as he fired off chugging chords followed by lick after lick, the groups jamming session giving him his few moments of spotlight in the rather spacious room. This was the life he wanted. This was the life that Takumi craved, the life he breathed, dreamed and lived for. There was nothing more that he wanted.
The band didn’t have a name yet. They’d only been together for a week at most, and they were simply getting a feel for their music and learning to gel. But even at this early stage they had fans. Outside of the music room - both in the corridor and outside of the window - students of all years were crowded around listening in and marvelling at the group’s sound. Most of them were there for Takumi though; he had quite the fanbase nowadays, what with his musical talent and his ‘good looks’. As the group ended their session they seemed momentarily stunned by the audience they had acquired, who were now cheering from all sides. “I guess I’m just that awesome.” Takumi’s voice cut through the noise, a wink accompanying his cheeky comment. His friends laughed in response and the singer Misao ruffled his hair. Being the shortest boy in the group, Takumi was always treated as the younger brother. It fitted with his cheeky attitude and his loving personality. “Well don’t get too comfortable with it. I’m still louder!” The drummer Jun's voice was barely audible, causing the group to laugh harder at the irony of his comment.
I hope this year never ends
As the day came to an end, the group left the music room in high spirits. Takumi was the last one out; he’d taken the liberty of jamming on his own while the others were packing up their things. Of course, he then ended up keeping them waiting as he packed away his guitar and put the amplifier away. But they hadn’t minded of course. Despite their short time together, the other members of the group had already begun to adjust to Takumi’s general behaviour. They loved how he’d keep playing, so engrossed in his music that nothing else seemed to matter.
“Takumi, you’re headed that way right? Well then we’ll catch you tomorrow. Remember to bring your guitar in!” Takumi’s smile said everything that needed to be said at that comment, but he replied all the same in his patented sarcastic tone. "Well duh! Because I never have it with me, do I?" The group laughed once more, and Takumi's eyes caught Kazumi's, causing her to giggle. There was time enough for Takumi to wink at Kazumi before the group began waving each other off and heading in their own directions. Takumi only lived a short distance away. His mum had chosen their home when his parents had moved here 20 years ago. It was the perfect spot for her to relax as an artist, and it was within a reasonable distance from the town, so his dad could walk or cycle to work in little time. He’d grown up and lived there all his life, and had grown accustomed to the forestation and shrubbery around his home. In fact, he found it all rather peaceful. Even as he approached his door, the trees and bushes in his garden and around his home were relaxing him.
The door was open before he had reached it, and stood before him was the figure of Yukimotou Hideo; his father. “Hey Taku-kun, guess what?” Takumi’s eyes lit up brightly. “You’ve got the day off?! Where are we headed off to today?” His mother Aya could be heard giggling behind his father, her arms wrapped around her husband’s muscular forearms. “We’re going for a meal together Takumi. Your father says I need a rest from cooking all the time. A fine one to talk isn’t he?”
It was strange. A day like this came maybe once or twice a month, but they were the best days of his life.
Better to be from time to time...than never again...
