'Too much good stuff' "... hmmm..."Hinata was in trouble. At first she had been full of energy; today was her shopping day! She had found all kinds of great deals to put together a great dinner menu for the whole week. She was even gonna treat herself to a hotpot tonight to celebrate another great week. The nice old men in the shopping district had even given her more discounts because they said they liked to see such energetic kids doing errands. The fish-vendor had even patted her on the head! If she had a tail she would be wagging it like a little doggy as she remembered. Then there was the bookstore! There were so many books she just had to have! She had a huge bundle of advanced mathematics texts along with quite a few very artistic new children's books (which, oddly enough, had cost almost twice as much as the textbooks). With the books and the groceries... she only realized much too late that she didn't have enough arm-room for it all! It was like trying to hug four people at once! She had made it as best she could for some distance, but now her energy was flagging even though it was hard for her to get worn out. Arms full of groceries she was forced to rest every few steps, and it seemed like it would get dark long before she made it home. "Waka and Tono will be worried, if I come home this late..." Hinata said, watching the sun go down. She felt so heavy! If only she had... magic or something. Or if a big bear came along, he would help her carry it! A few blocks behind, and tailing her, Hinata's secret bodyguards watched helplessly. They were a couple of nice guys, so they wanted to help the poor girl out, but they were instructed strictly by Mr. Asahi that Hinata was never to see them unless she was in real danger, so all they could do was wring their hands and hope that some nice person would come along and help the poor child out.

It was a nice day out, and especially for shopping. Jyongri smiled freely as she strolled through the streets, spending ever so much time on each shop, only to come out with empty hands. There really wasn't special to get, but just being able to look at random things was worth enough to fill her satisfaction. Jyongri suddenly remembered that they were low on food. And of cuorse, her parents being so busy with their jobs, it was her duty to go out and get the groceries. Would they have curry tonight? Or fried potatoes and beans? Or maybe something a little specialy, like udon?
As she pondered over this, she arrived in front of the grocery. Ugh, she indeed really despised carrying things though. Too bad she didn't have some carry-out cart or something... even though that would look extrememly out of the blue. Even if she did have it, in the last minute she'd probably decide it was too embarresing and would rather deal with her arms turning into jello. Jyongri was about to head in, when, she noticed this one person. The short, free brown hair argued that it was a boy- but the feminine body stated otherwise. The face was hidden, but she assumed it was a girl. Good. If it was a boy, that'd be a pretty pathetic one with no strength. Naturally, Jyongri strode up to her and took several bags off the girls arms. "You okay there? You seemed like you were going to be crushed by the weight of these groceries..." she smiled. Being helpful always felt nice. After taking bags off, the girls face finally appeared. Wow. Her face really is pretty. she thought, pondering. I wonder why she has her hair so short... if she had longer hair, I bet boys would be all over her.. if she doesn't already have that happening.

'Arigatou!' "Hm?" Hina paused as suddenly her arms felt lighter. She could actually see now that the giant bundle of groceries and books had been divided. She turned to the person helping her, half expecting an actual guardian bear or something that had magically appeared to aid her, but instead found Jyongri. "Thank you so much!" Hina said, giving a polite bow despite still carrying half the load. As she bowed she almost spilled some of the books and had to scramble a little to keep them in her arms. After getting things arranged again she gave Jyongri a bright smile. "You're a life saver... If I had to carry all of this all the way home I'd end up looking like a bodybuilder! Waka and Tono wouldn't even recognize me anymore." At the thought Hina laughed cutely behind a softly fisted hand. "My name is Asahi Hinata, but you can call me Hina-chan or just Hina since it's easier."Again she gave a polite little bow as she introduced herself, and again she had to scramble to keep stuff from falling as she did so. Amazingly, as clumsy as she was with the bowing she seemed very dexterous and athletic in the way she would catch and manage everything without a single thing falling from her hands. "Say, do you like nabe? Since everything was on sale today I was gonna celebrate by making some nabe with all the veggies! There's no one in my house but Waka and Tono and me, and those two don't eat very much at all... Teddy bears tend to be light eaters, right?" again she gave a cute laugh. "So, if you'd like you can come along and have some dinner with us. How about it?"

Jyongri smiled as the girl seemed to sigh in relief, her face turning bright. Yep, it definetely felt refreshing to help a distressed soul! It was like being one of those super heros she watched on telivision when she was little and...! Oh, what was she saying. Those times were over long ago. Though, it really was fun while it lasted... excluding all that school stalker business. If only she could've stayed in Korea with that without those terrible disadvantages, that'd be like heaven on Earth. That obviously never would happen, though.
"Thank you so much! You're a life saver... If I had to carry all of this all the way home I'd end up looking like a bodybuilder! Waka and Tono wouldn't even recognize me anymore."
[/i] Jyongri nodded, giving a bright response. "Of course! Don't worry about it." The girl politely bowed, only to be scrambling to keep her bags from falling over and crashing to the ground. Jyongri gave a small laugh. Though the girl almost blew it all, she seemed just as bright as ever. It was really nice to see someone like that again, usually people these days were rather so uptight. But on second thought, who were Waka and Tono? This girl didn't seem like the kind of person to call her parents by name, so maybe they were siblings of some sort? Jyongri never really got the chance to talk to her like this before, so she was clueless about her personal life and things like such. Well, in any case, she was more than happy to help. "My name is Asahi Hinata, but you can call me Hina-chan or just Hina since it's easier." The girl said with a bundled little fist. Jyongri, still smiling, observed that her actions were really cute-like. For some reason, Hina-chan reminded her a lot of a stuffed animal. Perhaps it was because stuffed animals were sweet and polite; never ever saying anything bad, like her. Jyongri would have offered her hand to shake when introducing herself, but they were full so she couldn't do much. Even though people normally don't even shake hands, she was used to with business people so it seemed normal to her. "Pleasure to meet you, Hina-chan. You can just call me Jyongri, Jyong-san, or basicly whatever you like." she replied cheerfully. Just by the look of Hinata, her mood just suddenly brightened up. For a second there, Jyongri felt a little sisterly. Ha! Jyongri, you're acting like a creeper yourself today, aren't cha? she joked to herself. "Say, do you like nabe? Since everything was on sale today I was gonna celebrate by making some nabe with all the veggies! There's no one in my house but Waka and Tono and me, and those two don't eat very much at all... Teddy bears tend to be light eaters, right? So, if you'd like you can come along and have some dinner with us. How about it?" Ah, so that was why the poor girl was carrying so many groceries. S-say that again? Teddybears? Jyongri tilted her head in wonder. For real? A celebration with teddy bears? Good thing she came along, or else Hina-chan would have eaten by herself! Talk about good luck for others today. Acting normal on the outside, she moved her concentration on to the next subject on the matter. Jyongri was always fond of vegetables, of course, to keep her skin nice and smooth. Though she'd usually eat it all... in one spoonful. Just to keep out the taste. So Nabe would be like a treat for her. Gratefully, Jyongri took the offer up in hand. "Oh, of course! Nabe would be wonderful. Thank you for the offer!" Jyongri made sure to keep the teddy bear matter out of the discussion on her part. Maybe Hina-chan was just joking to keep up the light mood- yes, that was it. Her siblings or friends were probably considered teddy bears to her, or some inside joke like that.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

"Jyong-san it is then!" Hina said energetically, smiling brightly. "Let's go!" and she started off in the direction of her house.
As she walked she talked about some of the things she had bought in the bookstore, sometimes trying to show Jyongri the pictures while still carrying everything else. Each time she did that she almost tripped and spilled everything but, as always, was barely able to juggle everything back into place. Either very lucky or very athletic... or maybe a whole lot of both.
"I just love the animals this guy does! Aren't they the cutest! This is actually his first book, so I've got my fingers crossed he'll make more like it... Oh! And look, this is my next translation project; I got them to import it all the way from Brazil!" she chatted happily about her beloved children's books with a happy smile, hardly letting any words in edgewise. It was quite obvious this girl didn't often have someone to walk and talk with in the evenings.
Finally, after Hina had had time to give a full review of all the books she had bought (well, aside from the textbooks) they arrived at a small but very nice house in the residential district. Hina unlocked the door and bowed, gesturing for Jyongri to go in.
The first thing after the open door were two teddy bears, one brown and one black, sitting in front of the entrance area, staring at the door. It seemed Hinata had set them up to 'wait for her return'.

After Hinata had seemed to decide to call her Jyong-san, they set of cheerfully towards her house. Jyongri had never really seen her house before, so curiosity struck her as in how fine a mansion it could be, or how neat and organized the furniture. Or, the whole place just a wreck- but that was just taking it too far. But not knowing what it may be leaves a better surprise.
The girl kept talking on and on about her childrens books and animals and authors she liked. Jyongri was able to keep up most of the time, but sometimes couldn't quite understand what she was saying and just gave a sweet little nod. But it was impressive that they had imported something all the way from Brazil just for Hinata alone- that definetely told something about her money. Not that Jyongri really thought her social status mattered, but it never hurt to knew. "Wow, that's really nice. You must be special to whoever takes care of you."
The two had finally arrived at Hinata's house after much chit-chattering girls normally do. As she opened the door for her (and with Jyongri saying a thank you), Jyongri's eyes immediatly jumped to the two brown and black teddybears, sitting at the entrance. Her mouth was about to drop in disbelief, but she made sure it was stuck closed. Um... isn't she... a little old for things like this? Trying not to be rude and fit along, she made a little bow towards the bears and walked in after setting her bags down and taking off her shoes. "Waka and Tono, was it? Nice to meet you!" she smiled, bowing again. I guess it's cute behavior... but where are her parents? I guess I really shouldn't be asking unless I want to butt into her private business.

Hina followed Jyongri in the door and took off her shoes as well.
"I'm home!" she said enthusiastically, then reached down to scoop up the two teddy bears. "C'mon in!"
Hina then proceeded to conduct Jyongri on a small tour. The tour seemed to consist of three locations: the kitchen, living room, and Hina's room. The kitchen was stocked with cooking stuff and looked to be well-used... apparently Hina cooked a ton. The living room was sparse, just a table and some cushions to sit on and a lamp... No TV or anything. Hina's room was cute and decorated with animal and especially bear themes. Her shelves were packed with kid's books and textbooks in no particular order.
The other rooms were behind closed doors and gave off the aura of never having been lived in. Besides the three rooms shown by Hina it seemed like none of the other parts of the house were used. Unless whoever else lived here gave off absolutely no presence it was clear that Hina lived by herself.
After the tour Hina left Jyongri in the living room with Waka and Tono and went to the kitchen.
"I'll whip it up in a jiffy!" she called, and started chopping and boiling.

The two strolled throughout the small living area, and along the way passing by two strange, sinister looking abandoned doors/rooms. But apart from that, Jyongri had the impression of a small yet cozy home. Just big enough for one. Or... three, but teddy bears didn't really do anything. As in, ANYTHING. She wondered why Hinata lived alone, without parents or siblings or anything like that. She really must be independant, then, she thought, But it must be lonely for her. I mean, even she has to face the fact that the bears aren't real. Of course, Jyongri would never say such a rude thing, but hopefully Hinata would figure that out on her own, if she hadn't already.
After the short tour, the two bears and Jyongri were left in the living room. "I-I could he-" she had started, but drifted away and drew her hand back. Neatly, she sat on her knees and folded her hands upon them. What should I do, should I talk to these stuffed animals? Should I keep quiet? What would Hina-chan do? Well, that answer came rather quickly. Clearing her throat, Jyongri decided to make some... small talk.
"So, how long have you two been living with Hinata?" She questioned with a jokingly serious tone.
Silence.
"Wow! That's nice. You two really must be fond of her."
Silence.
"She's really a nice person, isn't she?"
Silence.
Who am I kidding? Did I really expect some kind of answer? Jyongri sighed, deciding to just shut up and wait for her meal. But Hina-chan deals with this every day... I can't imagine what weight would be put on her. She must be so lonely... Suddenly perking up, Jyongri plotted to eat as much Nabe as her stomach would allow her, in place of Waka and Tono... and to make Hina-chan feel more accomplished. It would look creepy with a bulging stomach, but that wasn't the problem here. Jyongri was invited so Hina-chan could have some company for once. And she had to accomplish that!

"Nabe~ Nabe~ Chop up the veggies and put them in! Nabe~ Nabe~ Don't let it boil over~..." the sound of Hina singing a random song to the cooking nabe could be heard from the kitchen as Hina happily worked at it. The song had several verses, dedicated to the different ingredients, but was generally formless as she never bothered to rhyme anything and just sang whatever tune happened to work the best with the words she was singing... An odd little song.
Finally it was done and Hina brought the huge steaming pot out and set it down in the middle of the table, also handing Jyongri a dish with rice and some utensils. The pot was steaming and the smell was delicious. There were all kinds of veggies as well as meat and mushrooms poking their large heads out among the other ingredients. The broth was flavorful and expertly made.
"Go ahead and dig in Jyong-san! Ittadakimasu!" Hina happily began eating, while motioning for Jyongri to do the same.
At the very least, despite her childish behavior earlier, she did not attempt to feed the teddy bears or anything like that. Instead she ate and chatted with Jyongri... though it was rather obvious from the way the girl talked that her other nights were probably spent eating alone and chatting with the silent teddy bears.

Hinata sang her own little song as she cooked, clearly having fun making Naba. It made Jyongri a little amused, though she had to admit, she couldn't deny the cuteness of the girl. More quickly than expected, she finished cooking and had brought the steaming pot to the table. When the lid was lifted, the sweet aroma was drowned in her nose. Indeed an amazing smell it was, Jyongri couldn't help but feel as if she were experiencing heaven on earth. What was this girl, some kind of expert cook in disguise? Whatever the case, as soon as Hinata began to eat, she did so herself. It was hard to not just take the whole bowl and wolf it down, as to showing manners and keeping cool and collected was her first priority. Oh well, it IS better to savor it then have the moment pass by instantly. "Ittadakimasu." she repeated neatly.
Though, to her slightest surprise, Hinata did not make any move towards the bears, like feeding them. Jyongri suddenly felt a surge of sympathy. Did this girl really eat alone, every night? What happened to her parents? Trying to keep up the cheerful mood in the exterior, she started a conversation. "Wow, you really are a good cooker! I bet people grovel at your feet just to taste the yummy good-ness." she giggled.

"Hehe," Hina grinned and gave a small, embarrassed laugh as she was praised. "It doesn't always taste this good... I guess tonight's special since I can share it with someone. Whenever I have someone over my cooking powers increase tenfold!" Another cute laugh at this.
After that Hina let the conversation flow a little bit more, but later she brought it back around to her father.
"I'm sorry if I talk too much. Usually it's just Waka and Tono and they never say anything back. Even when my father comes by he doesn't really talk much since he says he likes just hearing about my life. He's busy with his company so it's hard for him to come visit me, but I don't want him worrying too much or he'll get stressed out between me and all the work. That's actually why I moved out by myself, so he could take a little break from stressing over me and concentrate."
After having revealed this part of her life without hesitation Hina continued enjoying the meal with a smile. Obviously she didn't show any outside signs of being lonely despite the sadness of her story.
"As long as Waka and Tono are with me, and my friends at school, I don't mind living on my own. Right?" this last comment she made at the teddy bears, giving them a bright smile before turning back to Jyongri.
"What about Jyong-san? Do you have a big family?"

"It doesn't always taste this good... I guess tonight's special since I can share it with someone. Whenever I have someone over my cooking powers increase tenfold!" At this, Jyongri felt a cheerful surge, and the two continued talking. At moments the soup tasted extremely tasty, as it streamed down her throat, and she let out a satifactory sigh. Time ticked on by, though for once it actually felt like it was going by quickly. She was about to take yet another delicious spoonful, when Hinata suddenly changed the subject.
That's actually why I moved out by myself, so he could take a little break from stressing over me and concentrate." Jyongri looked at her for a couple seconds in a strange kind of disbelief, then set her spoon down with a small 'clink'. Her eyes then shifted to the soup bowl, threatening to be emptied with just a few more scoops. The surface wavered from the wobbling spoon, but as it calmed, she could see a faded reflection of herself. She felt a pang of guilt in that instant, regretting ever wondering why Hinata's house was so bare, and why she lived alone. But, why? Even while saying something so personal and unsettling, the girl put on a smile and a cheerful tone. I really would never understand her position right now, but I feel so bad for her... eating here, every day, alone. Her gaze flickered to the teddy bears momentarily.
"Wow, you sound like you have a hard life. It's really amazing to see that you can still keep up a smile. If that were me, i'd probably be in the corner sulking," she ended with a slight joke. Jyongri picked up her eating again, leaving both the soup and rice bowl bare. She felt full, but in a good way, which she hadn't experienced for a while now - with her parents' jobs being intensified. At least, they weren't crazed over it like before in Korea.
"As long as Waka and Tono are with me, and my friends at school, I don't mind living on my own. Right?" Jyongri gave a little nod. That was true, family matters where important, but not enough to take over her whole life. Maybe she was just overreacting to some one else's story... it was true that it wasn't her job to decide how she would react and whatnot. Lately it had become kind of a bad habit, but Jyongri let out yet another small sigh, barely loud enough for even herself to hear.
"What about Jyong-san? Do you have a big family?" Hmm, her own family? There really was nothing special, but if she told her what their professions were and such, it could bring suspicion of what she might have been. Cough- model. They did have a bit of a on-and-off relationship with her mother's side of the family, since they too were big on the modeling/acting industries and desperately wanted her back. Other than that, it was a plain, normal, and perhaps boring family. There really was nothing interesting about it.
"Well, I have a mom and a dad, but most of the time they're gone for work, sometimes at home when i'm asleep, and leaving the moment before I get up. But I do get to see them more than back in-" she stopped, looking a little uncomfortable. This girl, on secondhand, didn't look like the type who would go blabbing on about something trivial she heard at her home. She probably didn't even suspect anything, people from other countries was normal, right? "...Korea." she finished, just a bit more quietly. Jyongri clearly didn't tell many people she wasn't from Japan, though in fact they didn't really question her about it.

"Korea?" Hina did indeed pause at this bit of knowledge and seem to consider for a second. Of course, being Hina, the thought process running through her head was completely unexpected. Suddenly her eyes brightened and she exclaimed "Then, do you watch a lot of Animal Yokocho? ((AniYoko is a kid's anime jointly produced by Japan and Korea... of course the first thing Hina would think of n.n;)) "I really love that show!"
After a brief chuckle Hina returned to the subject at hand. "That's good that your whole family can be together here in Japan. Do you miss your home country much?"
By this point the food was mostly gone, so Hina started cleaning up as she asked the question. She gathered the bowls and set them in the now-empty nabe pot to wash together and got ready to carry them to the kitchen.
"Oh, and do you have room for dessert?"
