#Name ; Katsuki Junko
#Age ; 15
#Gender ; Female
#Sexuality ; Homosexual
#D.O.B. ; December 19th, 1988
#Occupation ; High School Student
#Year and class ; 1-D
#Height ; 4'6"
#Weight ; 66
#Physique ; Small, petite
#Hair color and style ; Junko has dirty blonde / light brown hair that reaches her mid-back. She often has it tied into loose pigtails. There are always a few strands sticking up here and there, making it somewhat clear that she doesn't brush her hair before styling it.
#Eye color ; Brown
#Clothing styles ; Junko's school uniform looks rather strange on her. The school didn't have one that was small enough for her, so she just has to deal with wearing the smallest size available. It hangs awkwardly around her body and nobody knows how the skirt manages to stay up. Her white knee-high socks are always falling down, even though she uses sock glue.
When outside of school, Junko's choices in regards of clothing are rather plain. Her outfit choice of nearly everyday is an overlarge shirt and jeans. She obviously isn't trying to impress anyone. If it's for a special occasion, Junko might doll herself up a little bit, wearing a nice shirt or actually doing something with her hair for once. She'll still probably wear jeans, though. You'd have to drag her, kicking and screaming, to convince her to wear a dress.
#Personality ;Junko refuses to be looked down upon. She can't express how much she absolutely despises it when people treat her like a little kid. That condescending tone used when talking to her (even when the person talking is the same age), being referred to as a "little girl", being treated as if her cuteness is her only defining characteristic. It's annoying. Just because she looks young doesn't mean she's an actual child. She tries her best to make that clear, too. Her entire personality contradicts what people might assume based on looks alone.
And then there's being underestimated because she's a girl. Being told that she can't be loud or opinionated or tough because she's female really gets on her nerves. It's a stupid social rule that shouldn't even exist, and if anyone even dares tell her that she isn't allowed to do something because she's a girl, they better be prepared to either be punched in the stomach or have the closest hard object chucked at them.
Junko's got a fiery temper. Her emotions run hot as a wildfire, and woe befall the one who has gained her anger because she will use every ounce of cunning she has to get revenge. Junko can never just "let things go". No, she doesn't feel at peace until the person who has hurt her suffers. Is that being dramatic? Definitely. Does she care? Not at all.
She hates rules. They just get in the way. They prevent creativity and keep people from accomplishing their goals. She will wreck everything that ever had the nerve to get in her way, and never once will she feel bad about it. At the same time, she knows when it's better to just grit her teeth and bear stupid rules in order to avoid unnecessary drama or conflict.
Junko refuses to be ashamed of who she is, and she refuses to hide it. She is fully aware that she lives in a society where being different is looked down upon and people are going to ridicule her for her sexuality. It doesn't matter though. If people harass her, she fights back with ten times the ferocity. She's not one to back down or let people walk all over her. Her friends have asked her why she doesn't just keep her being gay under wraps, and her answer is always the same: "Because I shouldn't have to."
She's a very blunt person, never having been the type to filter her words. She just doesn't care. She'll say whatever the hell she wants, and if someone doesn't like the stuff that comes out of her mouth, that's their problem. However, like with rules, she does know when it would be better to just keep her mouth shut... most of the time, at least. Sometimes her friends have to clap a hand over her mouth and drag her away to keep her from saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.
Since she's so blunt, people can trust her to always tell the truth when they ask for her opinion. She can be a little mean about it sometimes, but at least she doesn't sugarcoat anything. She makes sure that she actually provides constructive criticism though, rather than just saying something is bad without giving any reason as to why. That'd just be a cruel thing to do, and although she isn't exactly the nicest person in the world, she doesn't actively try to be malicious or cruel.
Junko is definitely the mom friend, but she's more aggressive about it. She knows that her friends are chaotic idiots, and the only way she can get through their thick skulls is if she's harsh about it. Other people might consider her to just be "rude" or a "bad friend", but her friends know it's her way of looking out for them. Sometimes she can't convince them to not do whatever dumb things they decided to do, and just goes along with it because there needs to be at least one responsible person to keep everyone else from dying.
It's not uncommon for her to insult her friends ; she calls them idiots a lot, and questions why she's still friends with them. She always makes it clear she's joking though. If they ever start to think that she doesn't actually love and care for them like family, she'll do everything in her power to convince them that the mere thought of her actually not caring for them is ridiculous and of course I love you. Don't be stupid.
Although she's mean to her friends, nobody else is allowed to be. If anybody others than her suggests that they are less than perfect and wonderful human beings who deserve the entire world, they will have to deal with wrath of a tiny but surprisingly strong and violent teenage girl. Well...okay, that might be an overstatement. But seriously, only she can be mean to her friends. It's the rules.
Junko says "love" a lot casually, but she still means it each and every time. Personally, she doesn't think saying it often makes it lose its meaning. She loves a lot of things. She loves the characters from manga, she loves her friends (even if she can be a jerk to them sometimes). She loves getting 100% on tests, and being able to be proud of who she is despite people telling her she shouldn't. She has a lot of emotions to go around, lots of things to appreciate in the world, lots of love, and she wants to share.
#History ;Junko was born on Christmas Eve. She was supposed to be born three weeks afterwards, but it seems that even when she was in the womb she was battling expectations. Her mother and father were obviously surprised. Who wouldn't be? They handled it pretty well, though.
Her life was fairly normal. She lived with her mother and father, who were always loving and caring parents. They got into the occasional argument but it was never too bad. At least Junko never thought it was. Her parents obviously loved each other, they just didn't always see eye to eye.
Unfortunately, "love" doesn't always mean "compatibility". Her parents were fully aware that they didn't work well together and it would be better for both of them if they got a divorce, but they didn't want to put their daughter through that. They decided they would stay together for the sake of Junko. When she got old enough to understand, they would divorce, but until then they would have to stay together.
Junko was a bit of a problem child growing up. As soon as she learned how to talk, she started questioning things that most people didn't even think twice about because it's what was normal. Why couldn't she have short hair? Why wasn't she allowed to play with the boys? Why was it weird when she played "husband and wife" with the other girls? It didn't make sense to her.
As soon as she become old enough to understand more about the world (around nine), her parents got divorced. It wasn't really that jarring. Her parents didn't hide that they fell out of love nearly as well as they thought they did. Still, she was sad. Not to mention confused. She had to choose whether she wanted to live with her mother, or move to Hikarizaka with her father. It was a scary decision for anyone to make, especially a nine-year-old girl, but she ended up choosing her dad.
Hikarizaka was a small town. It was a lot smaller than the old town that she lived in, and a lot quieter too. It felt almost foreign to her. She was so accustomed to people around her being noisy, so living in a place that was quiet and peaceful felt wrong. When she told this to her dad, he said she would get used to it. She trusted him so she stopped complaining.
It didn't take long for her to be labeled as "the weird kid" in elementary school, a label that would follow her into her high school years. She had no problem wrestling with the boys on the playground or dirtying the dresses her dad bought for her (it was actually great, because he started buying her jeans. They were way less uncomfortable). Her teachers encouraged her to play with the other girls, but they didn't seem to understand that she tried. They were the ones who didn't want to play with her.
It was in middle school when Junko realized she was exclusively attracted to girls. It wasn't a huge deal to her. While any other person might've freaked out, especially living in unaccepting and homophobic society, she was weirdly calm about the whole ordeal. She liked girls. Cool. It was just another one of those things that made her weird. Nothing had changed.
She made no effort to hide her sexuality. In fact, it was rather obvious. Although she never outright stated that she was a lesbian, she did say things that made people suspicious. For example, she once held hands with her only girl friend because she, and I quote, "wanted to see how soft it was."
It didn't take long for rumors to fly. Junko didn't bother correcting anyone and if they asked, she would tell the truth. She didn't care that people ridiculed her and looked at her like a freak. They had been doing it for nearly her entire life. It only took a few weeks for word to spread to every single person in the school.
The bullying was never physical. People knew that Junko was surprisingly strong and she could hold herself in a fight. Not to mention she wouldn't hesitate to beat the crap out of someone, regardless of the punishment she received for doing so. So rather than actually hurting her, people did different things. They isolated her and whispered things behind her back. They made her feel like even more of an outcast than she actually was. Funnily enough though, Junko didn't care. She didn't like any of those idiots anyway. Them treating her as if she didn't exist was a blessing.
Junko still had a group of friends. She wasn't the only weird outcast at the school. Her school actually seemed to attract a fairly good amount (five people, to be exact) of people who stood out from the rest. This was another reason nobody ever actually tried to outright hurt or harass her - her friends were actually scary. A few of them struggled with anger issues and lack of impulse control, and people were well-aware that although Junko might hold back, none of her friends would.
Despite being ridiculed and shunned for the majority of her middle school life, Junko considered it to be great. She had a wonderful group of friends who loved and cared about her, she received good grades, and overall the only remotely "bad" thing was nearly everyone outside of her friend group avoiding her like the plague.
It was in her last year of middle school that her dad found out her sexuality. She didn't tell him, nor did she ever plan to tell him. She wasn't that brave. Other people didn't matter, but her father was the person who she depended on for everything. Telling him would be an even huger risk. She still has no idea how he found out. Probably from a classmate or something.
Junko didn't know what she expected when she came out. Denial, maybe? But whatever she accepted, she certainly didn't expect her dad to just kick her out. That wasn't something that happened in real life. It happened in movies and books. Nobody actually kicked their kids out, right? Especially when they knew that their kids had nowhere to go.
Fortunately, she did have somewhere to go. One of her friends, Tohru, lived with his elder sister who adored Junko for whatever reason. She was sure that they would let her live with them. She really, really hoped so, at least.
Not only did Tohru's older sister say it was fine, she practically dragged her inside the house while rambling about how she would have to fix up the guest bedroom. She didn't even question why Junko got kicked out (she would find out eventually, and still absolutely adore her). Both Junko and Tohru found it absolutely hilarious.
She is currently living with Tohru and Ochako (his elder sister), and she's going to be a first year student at Hikarizaka Private High School. She's pretty excited about it, although she's upset that only one of her friends is going with her.The Roleplayer's Corner

#Sample Writing ;Dahlia had moved away from her home town two years ago, in order to start studying at the prestigious Meadows Academy - it was a very difficult school to get into, with an acceptance rate of only 0.5%. She had to work very hard to be accepted. Unfortunately, it also meant having to leave one of her best friends.
Amber and her had known each other since they were small children, and they had practically grown up together. Meadows was quite far away from where they lived, so Dahlia ended up having to move. They tried to keep in touch as much as possible, but with schoolwork and a bunch of other stuff, it was difficult.
But know they were seeing each other again. Meadows had recently developed an online schooling option, and Dahlia had signed up for it. This way she could move back to her hometown and see Amber everyday! They were even going to be living together! Speaking of which, the brown-haired girl was picking her up from the airport.
Dahlia barely had time to react before Amber pulled her into a tight hug, saying how much she missed her. "I've missed you too," she said softly, just as the other girl pulled her away. "It's been very lonely without you."
