For today's exploration into town, Mizuki had decided that the best place to be was downtown. While she enjoyed the park, something about it felt a little more...intimate was about the best word she could think of. The place was empty enough that people were alone or in small groups so to her it felt a little off and creepy to be taking photos there. It would be like taking pictures of people in their own homes or something, which she of course never did. Downtown, however,, where people were in crowds? Things felt a little more anonymous, with people fading into the crowds so it could be hard to get a clear identification on them. So she felt a little better taking pictures of people here since the expectation of intimacy was less. Besides, it felt a little more alive here than in the park. Maybe that was a sign of the changing times, that the hustle and bustle of downtown felt more like the actual heart of the city than the tranquility of the park.
In any case, that was the situation she was in as she sat down at some small cafe, trying to figure out what to do. It was around lunch time, and the slight gnawing in her stomach told her getting a bite to eat wouldn't be a bad idea. She had just ordered a sandwich as she didn't feel up for much else. As she waited she started to idly flip through the photos on her her digital camera to see what she had captured. Most of it was just people idly walking or looking at stuff. She felt it a bit of an invasion of privacy if she captured anything more than that. Still, she couldn't help but sneak a few photos in of a young couple sneaking a kiss or a kid eagerly playing with a new toy right out of the toy store. After all, that was part of life. Specifically, it was a part that she in particular didn't get much of a chance to experience. She would just make a note to delete them later as that would ease at least some of her guilt for invading their privacy.
After a few moment her sandwich arrived, and she began to nibble on it as she looked around for something else to photograph. Some of her fellow lunch people seemed promising, but taking pictures to people so close was a little discomforting. Mostly because they could probably see her take pictures, which usually didn't end well as people tried to talk to her about it. When they did, they were either angry for her snooping or interested in her hobby. The former was more troublesome, what with being yelled at and all that always being an unpleasant experience. Either option, however, wasn't exactly something she enjoyed. The probing questions of a person actually interested in her always made her feel like the spotlight was on her, which would get her all flustered up.
Still, when a nearby child had their mother fussing with them over some ice cream spilled on her face, she couldn't resist the urge to take out her camera and take a quick photo as the mother started to dab at the obviously annoyed young boy. It was kind of an adorable scene after all. All she had to do was make sure to delete it later.
For now, however, she began looking around again for the next scene, eventually spotting something else going on nearby. Raising up the camera once again, she got herself ready to take the picture...
