"Come on everyone, come and get some fresh homemade ramen and support class 2-C. Yayyyyy."
Standing at a small register, Mitsuko couldn't have sounded any less thrilled if she tried as she tried to get some customers to the booth. They were having a good day so far just on the principle of being a food stand, but she was still prodded to try and act like a barker of some sorts as she stood at the register. It really hadn't been her idea of how to enjoy the festival though. Actually, she still wasn't sure why it was she was put with dealing with customers at all considering her personality. Then again, with some of the local delinquents enjoying making trouble at these sort of things, having her at the frontline was probably not a bad idea either.
Still though, in her mind she'd rather be walking the festival and enjoying herself with the food and fun, maybe stopping by some of the other booths or indoor areas to mess with some people. Instead she was put on first round of register duty, and it would be some time before she could get out and explore the place. And by then, things would be starting to wind down a little, and the most fun stuff would probably be finishing up. Noon duty was the worst...
A little prod in the back by one of the more enthusiastic classmates, however, reminded her she still needed to keep up a more happy facade as long as she was at the register. Giving a slight sigh, she put on a rather fake looking smile.
"I hope you're all hungry people. We've got freshly made ramen, hot and ready to eat!"
Please let something interesting happen soon or I'm going to crack....."

"Oi, what's with that half-hearted attitude? Say it with more energy, will you?"
I can't help but chastise that classmate of mine, who happens to have the same hairstyle as my arch-rival. Well, at least that's one benefit of being a vice class rep. You can give orders to other people. Besides, my superior is rather busy with the most essential stuff for this ramen stand, anyway, so she won't have much chance to do the same to me.
Still, since I skipped the preparations yesterday for my training (and got caught up in a chain of bizarre events involving lots of water afterwards), I'm stuck with cooking duty, at least for this shift. That's a downside of being in a position of authority. You are forced to make a "good" example of yourself. Well, at least the boys are... considerate enough to hog all the most strenuous parts for themselves, leaving me with looking after the pots. Having the boys at your bidding sure comes in handy at times like this.
On the other hand, I cannot wear my favorite hairstyle when doing things like this. Now I see why the chefs on TV have such funny-looking large hats on when they are cooking. And indeed, I cannot let my precious hair flailing around in this kind of environment, for two reasons: A, I can't let my beautiful, silky hair get dirty from all the foodstuff; B, I definitely don't want to receive any complaints about things that should not be in the ramen bowls. So, I'll stick with a kerchief along with a hair clip instead of my trusty horn-shaped ornaments for the time being.
I hope this will end soon, since the steam is getting rather suffocating over time, and I want to see what the other classes are doing, too. Like the one next door, I heard they opened a maid/butler café or something... I wonder how Spiky White look like in a tux... Wait, wait! Why am I daydreaming? I just want to finish this so that I can hang around the school. It's not like I have many chance to simply playing around like this.
"Oh, come on. Do your job properly, at least until the shift changes. Or should I call someone else to switch with you, if you feel uncomfortable?" I don't really want to give orders in this kind of situation, since I want to get out of this as soon as you can, but since this is one of the rare times I can really act as a vice class rep, I'll play along for now. At least, I can use my position to hold some leverage over my female classmates. "Anyway, you should help me with serving the bowls too. There will probably more customers over the next hour."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." Mitsuko replied with a huff.
That was apparently the so called "vice class rep" that was chastising her. The girl seemed to forget Mitsuko wasn't the most excitable person when it came to these sort of things, or that Mitsuko wasn't that concerned with the social hierarchy of school anymore. In short, Mitsuko was no the right person to go testing authority on, but whatever. Right now it was just easier to go along with it and play nice instead of starting some kind of argument. After all, it was just selling ramen, and she could just laze around when there aren't any customers around.
Speaking of which, she was just about to put her head down on the register and take a power nap when the girl came back and talked to her again, asking for some help with serving the bowls.
"No, no, I'm fine, just tired is all. I really didn't want to spend my festival day standing behind a register after all. If you want to take the register though go for it and I'll take the bowls."
At least that way I won't have to deal with people that much...

Kiyoshi exited from his own classroom, 2-B, after realizing he wasn't on duty. Though, to be honest, he had no idea what they were actually doing for the Founder's Festival because he hadn't been paying attention. He had better stuff to do, personally. Although this was his first Founders Festival being a first timer in Japan, he still couldn't bring himself to enjoy it much because of his constant alertness to his situation, having to pretend he was someone he isn't simply so he can keep his solidarity, his individuality intact, but mainly his emotions intact. Walking outside and smelling some food, he realized he was hungry. The class stall he could smell it coming from was 2-C. Walking closer towards it, he began to hear a girl unenthusiastically selling the product and another girl issuing orders and organizing people. He couldn't help but sigh. More females. Well, as long as the food was good. Just as the girl at the Register was facing away, Kiyoshi walked up and snapped his fingers by her face to get her attention.
"Hello. What sort of Ramen do you do in here?" Kiyoshi spoke with his usual smile on his face, fake as it is but still so practiced that it was his real smile. At least to everyone else. Taking a look at the girl at the register, it seemed like she was uninterested in what was around her. Seeing who she was talking to, Kiyoshi sort of recognized her, but not as an acquaintance but more of someone he's heard about. He was interested simply because she was someone who did a sport similar to his own. That was about the only thing. There didn't seem like too many people were around yet, so he must have gotten lucky. The afternoon would be busier for all of the classes, so he would have to avoid his classmates as best as he could to avoid getting put on duty.

Just as she was finishing up her conversation with Iryna, Mitsuko soon found a pair of fingers snapped right by her head by some guy. It startled her for a brief second as she turned around, looking at him just standing there with a smile on his face that just seemed a little…off. But she didn’t care about that. No, she cared more about the fact that he had just snapped his fingers by her face like she was some dog that was supposed to come to him whenever he said ‘come.’ She just stared at him, stared at the fingers, and then back at him before looking at him with a rather odd mix of deadpan and anger.
”What the hell was that supposed to be?”
Oh she was starting to get mad, and as she continued speaking it was evident that she was not really up for this as she soon placed both hands firmly on the booth counter and leaned forward into HIS face, just to see how he liked it.
”I’m sorry but do I look like a dog to you? Do you want me to go ‘woof woof’ and come running to Master when he snaps his fingers, hmm? Woof woof.”
Backing off a little, she just closed her eyes and took a deep sigh. She was supposed to be a good service person right now, not chewing the heads off the customers. Right now Iryna was probably about to go and start chewing her out, causing even more problems than she could really deal with right now. Glancing up at the guy, she had calmed down just enough to not sound bitter, but it was obvious she was still a little ticked. Still, she tried to put a smile of some sort on her face, although with her state of mind right now it really didn’t work at all on and was obviously fake.
”Anyway, I don’t really have our menu memorized, but name us a type of ramen and I’m sure we can make something close enough to it.”
That was pretty much true; she didn’t cook the ramen, and with the small size of the booth Iryna could hear everything so she didn’t have to bother with messaging the orders between customer and cook so she didn’t even memorize that. All she did know was the price of the ramen, and that was about it; minimum effort was all she was going to give till she was let free to go and have some fun.

"Well, to be fair, you acted just how you described, so I guess it worked?" With his usual smile on his face, it would look perfect if one of those oversized sweat-drops appeared above Kiyoshi's head right now. He didn't inch away at all when she moved her face closer, mainly because he didn't want to be intimidated. Of course, he was uncomfortable with the fact it was a girl doing it when he usually detested them. Though, he found himself strangely amused with this girl in particular. Maybe it's because she wears her emotions and thoughts on her face and doesn't hide them. Perhaps he could say or do one more thing to tease her, or perhaps act more like he would prefer and slightly out of character. None of them knew him after all. He could stretch the boundaries a bit and seem more like a playful yet sadistic person. Moving his head closer to hers like she had done, he remains on his side of the booth but moves as close as he could. What would be a good line to give her now? Perhaps the following. "Hmm... How about some Yakisoba then?"
Of course he knew that Yakisoba and Ramen were different, but he was simply trying to provoke a response from the girl in front of him. If she rips into him for it, he'll simply give his usual English talk with something along the lines of "Sorry, I don't understand" and then smirk while he turns his face away. He could usually only joke like this with the guys, simply because there weren't many of the girls who would make the same comments. Bokke and Tsukkomi was a fun thing to do though he had quite a bit of trouble getting the hang of the roles and traits of those roles. Oh well. Trial and error. And pain.

OC: Just say if I'm not welcome to enter the thread... and I'll delete this. Lunch, lunch...
He was... well, the people in the counter and the other (blond? just like that often-complaining person in his class?) customer were busy doing whatever they were doing... and he was just drifting by, as he always did, when he smelled what seemed to be good food, and he had ended up here, attracting a minimum of attention, or at least that was how it seemed.
The black-haired girl, who seemed to be in charge, sounded like she was shouting a while ago, but she seemed to have calmed down now... the foreign-looking fellow, on the other hand, looked complacent... though there was something that was off...
"Masquerade..." he abruptly commented, mostly to himself, though that did not make it less audible. Just as abruptly, he looked at the booth's paraphernalia, the register, tried to peer to whatever he could see of the improvised kitchen from his standpoint...
This is... 2-C... "Ramen..." A pause. "...isn't that different from yakisoba?" he commented, even though it was not exactly his business... it just seemed like Yellow-kun was making a mistake. He wasn't being meddlesome, right?
Oh, there's one more person... is that... Fuukami-san?

Tch. What a customer we have here. Who on Earth does he think he is? Our boss? Even though I've always heard that "The customer is always right", I think that phrase have been abused too much in this day and age.
Hence I try not to mind the ruckus between my "assistant" and that pesky blond guy as long as he pays and leaves immediately, but it looks like he is taking his time. There are other customers, and he's getting in the way.
I decide to have a word with him, face-to-face, plastering a rather twitchy at-your-service smile on my face:
"Excuse me, yakisoba are available here, but would you please wait for a little while so that I can get it ready?" I have to prepare a frying pan among other stuff after all, but the main ingredient (ramen noodles, made from wheat flour, not soba, made from buckwheat; the name is definitely misleading) is abundant, so it may not be much of a stretch. I've managed to learn some basic cooking skills from my mother, too, so I'd better put it to practice.
Then I see a familiar white spiky head. Couldn't that person be...

She was not amused at this boy’s antics. At this point she figured he was probably trying to purposefully make her mad, or he was just a complete idiot. There was of course the distinct possibility that he was both, in which case she might just have to get him removed from this festival period in order to prevent further incidents. He probably figured that his smile on his face would be able to cover up his actions, maybe make a girl’s heart melt so they would back off and just let him be. Well unfortunately for him, she didn’t act like that and, more importantly, was to annoyed right now that even if she did have a weak spot like that it probably would not be relevant. She just wanted to get this sale over and done with so she could just go back to lazying around. All she could do now, however, was just give him an angry glare.
Of course instead of just getting ramen and going, he decided to try and make the situation even worse by mistaking the purpose of their stand by ordering something that, as far as she knew, was not available here. Just before she could chew him out, however, two other people came to deal with it. First, some random customer with some actual sense pointing out the problem. The second, surprisingly enough, was her own boss…although she was capitulating to him by offering to make the dish anyway even though that was not what was being served. Still, she offered to deal with it, so he was her problem now.
”There, you got your food ordered. Now would please move so I can get to the customer behind you?

"Well I know the difference, but it's more amusing this way. At least to myself." Saying that in English, Kiyoshi nodded and said a bit of thanks as the one who seemed in charge said she would make Yakisoba. He had eaten Ramen before since arriving in Japan, even some of the proper, non-instant stuff, but he hadn't eaten Yakisoba before because he lived alone with no one to cook it for him. Which was why majority of his apartment food supplies consisted of instant food, leaving little space for normal stuff. He simply had little time to do it himself. Moving to the side as he saw the boy behind him in line, he nodded in apology, placing a hand in front of him as he bowed lightly, showing one of those troubled-looking smiles. Turning towards the girl in charge, and partially to the one he was annoying, he scratched the back of his head and smiled apologetically as he spoke. "Sorry about the trouble. I'm still a novice on Japanese cuisine and customs. I use to get my friends' attention like this back home."
Well, most of it was true, except for the part where he was a novice. He at least knew the difference between Ramen and Yakisoba, and that snapping his fingers to get attention was not a good gesture in Japan. In hindsight, he should have acted normally to avoid drawing too much attention. Besides, he was suppose to be a good background student, not some wannabe delinquent. He would save that for night time where he could release his stress while rollerblading. Looking at the girl in charge, he remembered hearing about how she was an ice skater, if he wasn't mistaking her for someone else. Would be interesting to skate with her, either on ice or concrete. Catching a longer glance at the boy who was behind him, he seemed like a shy person on first look, and had some unique hair color. Was non-black hair becoming a trend or something? Well, at least it wasn't purple.

"It's more amusing this way", eh? What a strange person.
Did he think he can get away with that by using a foreign language. Oh, sorry. I've spent some of my spare time on English too, so that I can communicate with more kinds of people. Don't you think every Japanese people (well, I'm half-Japanese though) is bad at foreign languages. Is he some kind of a snobby chauvinistic foreign character?
However, since I want him to go away as soon as possible, I decide to let it slide and prepare to fry the noodles. It's not as hard as I initially thought.
There's one problem though. The white-haired guy behind him... He just had to choose this time and place to show up. Even though my arms are still working without a hitch, I can feel them trembling, even though this stand is anything but cold. On the other hand, my face feels so hot, definitely not just from the heat dissipated from the frying pan. Somehow, all the events from yesterday keeps flooding my mind. I never thought I had done such... embarrassing things. How can I even face him now?
Thank God I still manage to finish the task without blunder.
"Here you are", I hand out the piping hot, carefully packed yakisoba to Blondie, trying to avert my eyes from the other customer. W-what shall I say to him now?

"Your 'amusing' may not be amusing to other people..." he replied, not having trouble with the male's shifting to English. While he did not completely understand the situation, he found this blonde fellow... unpleasant. He was... duplicitous; what he said in English did not match what he said in Japanese.
And so he guessed he would turn his attention to other matters, since they were strangers, after all... and he wanted to eat.
"Ah..."
Turning around, his passing observation was confirmed.
It is her. Wait, grammatically incorrect... it is she...
"Fuukami-san... you're in 2-C." he remarked.
He was a bit... diverted.
"Uh... I'm sorry... I was supposed to order." he muttered, reflexively; while Mr. Blonde was still in line, he was technically finished, and the staff would probably get to his order more quickly if they knew what it was.
"Sorry." he reiterated to the other girl, who seemed to be already annoyed with Mr. Blonde. While chances of him not incurring her annoyance were slim, he figured he should apologize, too.
He guessed her presence was somewhat... rattling. He struggled to straighten himself.
"I'll... I'll have whatever is the usual..."

Like the others, Mitsuko was not ignorant of the English language. Her parents had started her on learning it at a young age (foreign languages helped to stimulate the mind and competitiveness and blah blah blah), but she stayed quiet about it. After all, it was more fun to mess with someone when they don’t know all the cards you held. Unfortunately, it seemed the boy behind the pain-in-the-ass had decided to get involved and therefore breaking up the illusion. Well, if that was the case, then she might as well go ahead and deal with the problem immediately, but unfortunately it seemed the boss was going to go ahead and just cater to the guy with his food. He didn’t deserve food, not at all.
Still, she gave the guy a glare to let him know that he was on to him before turning her attention to the next customer in line. This guy she liked; he wasn’t an ass, although he was rather unconfident in in dealing with the blonde. Ah well, it didn’t matter since he had at least enough guts to say something, which was more than what most people would do. When he stated the boss’ name, however, Mitsuko had to raise an eyebrow, turning back to look at the girl now finishing off the blonde-guy’s food. Looking her over, something seemed off about her. Earlier she seemed confident, yet now she seemed flustered. Why would she…
Looking back at the other guy, Mitsuko could take a guess at what the issue was. While normally she would love a chance to take advantage of a possible budding romance to cause a comedic scene, Mitsuko was too tired from the work and coming off from an anger-high to do anything. Still, this would be something she would keep in the back of her mind to use later, maybe tease Fuukami during some down time or something once rested up. Till then, she could let out some steam on the guy for his incredibly vague order.
”Sir, we’re a one day ramen stand that will never exist again; there is no usual except hot broth and noodles. If you would like more than that, please specific what it is that you want.”

Noting how the people around him had reacted to his actions, Kiyoshi had a better idea about how his life from before moving to Japan was different. It was usually a good way to make a joke that people would laugh about or simply shrug off not worrying about it where he was from back in England, and no one ever seemed to have a problem with it. In fact, he had it done to him a few times and he never found it annoying. It was a good way to get attention and get him to focus. Just something about the sound and proximity that makes you more alert to things around you. Seeing the chef girl hand him the Yakisoba, he couldn't help but show a a bright expression on his face for a brief moment before hiding it again under a rather straight face. It would be his first time having Yakisoba, and from what he heard it was really nice. Having a noodle broth was good too, but sometimes you need something different, and now he had it.
"Thanks. I'm looking forward to the taste. Oh, and sorry about my attitude. I didn't think Japan would be so different from England regarding small actions like what I did." He had to at least apologize for this. They were catering to his selfish requests, after all. It's not like he was grateful or anything. He just simply wanted Yakisoba. Having paid, Kiyoshi stood to the side and skillfully opened the pack and had a taste of it so he could give some feedback straight away. I-it's not like he wanted it that badly or anything. (Tsundere). After the first mouthful, a very bright expression went across his face as he tried to hide it with his hand over his mouth, fingers trying to hide his eyes. Swallowing gladly and closing the packet again, Kiyoshi turned to the girls who served him.
"It tastes great! Thanks for making this. I might come back later and get some proper Ramen next. Sorry for the trouble I caused. Really. Oh, woops. I was in such a rush to talk I began speaking in english." That said, Kiyoshi spoke with a cheerful and partially embarrassed smile. He usually wouldn't act like this, especially towards girls, but this time he would make an exception. It was Yakisoba, and freshly, partially home-made Yakisoba at that. He had a new favorite food for the next week or two, that was for sure. That all said and done, Kiyoshi bowed lightly to them before walking off. So out of character of him, but food was something he loved. Either that, or the fact he had been eating fast or junk food nearly every day since arriving was too bland and this tasted heavenly in comparison. The smell of it was still lingering in his nose as he began walking off. Just before that, he turned to the silver-haired boy and said something. He smiled normally, not a fake, as he said it.
"You've got courage to speak up to me when you thought I was a bad person. I'm Kiyoshi Hibiki. Nice to meet you." Walking off, Kiyoshi thought it would be nice if they could be friends. Usually people ignored him for his jokes because they didn't understand them, thinking them a bit harsh sometimes, but for once someone who he hadn't befriended approached him for his joke. He was a bit grateful for this. All said and done, Kiyoshi headed off somewhere so he could sit down and eat. Perhaps he would come back in half an hour to an hour so he could eat the Ramen they were serving.

Just when I was struggling to find a way to face my... um, sidekick, he suddenly spouted out something amusing. "I'll have the usual", he said. Where did he think he is, a local bar he frequents? Is he a superspy or something?
Still, that line kind of lifted a weight off my chest. Looks like he has a funny side to him too...
And Blondie, well, he has an aura quite similar to Spiky, but looks more pompous. At least he still manages to appreciate our food. "The best way to get to boys is through their stomachs", or so I've heard.
Anyway, back to work. After spending a couple of seconds clearing my throat and taking a deep breath, I proceed to address my next customer:
"Yes, she's right. We have, um, miso ramen, soy sauce ramen, tonkotsu ramen. You can choose the meat to go with it too, like... um, pork, chicken, beef, or... just the noodles with broth, if you are a vegetarian. Or, well, you can have it dry too if you like."
Hope I didn't flub my lines too much.
