Type: Canon

Face Claim: Actually used a picture of Tomoya Okazaki taken from his article on the Clannad Wiki.
Description:
Well, not much different...if anything, from the picture provided above. This is the canon character, indeed...the main protagonist of both Series titles, Tomoya Okazaki. His appearance is exact. The blue hair and eyes. Has white skin and stands at about 173 cm tall. Weighs in around 134 lbs as well. Tomoya also wears his school outfit when at school and otherwise wears various ‘normal’ clothes when not. (Will often post a picture of him with the post if he’s out of school, so you can see his clothing...unless I decide on something original) His usual trend of clothing seems to be simple t-shirts with jeans. Nothing over the top or extraordinary really.
Personality:
Cool and outwardly detached. Disillusioned and disheartened. Throughout his High School years, this has defined Tomoya Okazaki to the core.
Acting indifferent to those around him, no clear motives visible for there are none currently; he speaks the truth which is quite often harsh to all. Why? His troubled past and upbringing has molded him to understand that the truth...is always harsh. He feels nothing is going for him, there isn’t much chance at anything, so what’s the point.
However, whether he cares to admit it to himself or not. He is truly caring. Not conscious of the fact that he can easily make friends if he tries. Due to his meeting with his best friend, Youhei Sunohara, and all the girls he meets along the way. Going out of the way to help someone in need. This forms a bond to those around him, though he never really thinks on it.
Why not? I happen to be around. That’s what he thinks. But that is one truth he isn’t admitting. Despite his flaws and generally negative attitude, he is kind-hearted and loyal to the end.
Another trait that has gotten Tomoya into trouble is his habit of playing pranks, usually but not always, involving Sunohara as a co-conspirator (or often with Sunohara being the sole conspirator and Okazaki being the helper). It helps him kill time and gives him something to laugh at...something he desires more than he realizes.
The pranks tend to be...well, very delinquent in fashion. Shooting juice up a nose if one isn't paying attention or creating a ball that drops a pan on your head if you pull the tag, for examples.
On the serious end, Tomoya Okazaki is also very thoughtful and reflective, if not always gleaning wisdom like he should. Often spacing out and thinking on the little things or about life as a whole, or if someone has been behaving strangely or been in trouble...worrying over what the problem could be and how he can help.
While he also tends to second guess himself on things, at least a little, he sticks to what he ultimately chooses and follows it to the end. Even if it's irrational. Such as when he's willing to take physical and mental abuse to protect someone.
A very subtle selflessness resides within him that becomes more and more pronounced with every new friend he acquires. A trait that may outweigh most of his negatives. This, combined with his lazy yet 'I'm-acting-somewhat-detached-though-I'm-not' demeanor as earned him with the label among his friends as 'Cool' most of the time.
History:
Tomoya Okazaki. A normal boy growing up until the day his mother, Atsuko, died in a tragic car accident, leaving him alone with his father Naoyuki Okazaki. However, the death of his wife unhinged Naoyuki and caused him to spiral downward into the world of alcohol.
Before the alcohol got really bad, however, there was a brief time of respite after the tragedy. It was during this time that his father did do his best to try at raising Tomoya all alone, which made his drunken fall all the worse. And not only that, but Tomoya actually made a good childhood friend. Kotomi Ichinose.
Kotomi was the daughter of two brilliant scientists and was turning out to be a pure genius herself. She was afraid of ever really leaving her home though and making friends. But Tomoya, while bug catching, accidentally stumbled into the Ichinose back yard. The two met and began conversing, with Mrs. Ichinose then inviting him inside. It culminated in a good friendship and insofar as he knew, he became Kotomi's only friend.
Then, when her birthday approached, he promised to invite all his friends to her party. But his friends thought going a girl's birthday party, especially one they didn't know, was stupid and declined. Ashamed of his failure, he didn't show up either, not wanting to face Kotomi's sadness.
Eventually he summoned the courage at midnight one night and went over to her place. To find it strangely quite and eerie. He snuck in, then heard noises from the study. Seeing it ablaze with his friend on her knees and sobbing mostly incoherently, he did his best to put out the flames with a glass of water he refilled over and over until two adults came to help. Adults that seemed to know Kotomi.
After this strangely scarring incident, Tomoya seemed to just fade away from Ms. Ichinose, unsure of the whole situation. And in time, became busy with other things and eventually...forgot it all. Even her.
Some years later, his father's alcoholism caused all sorts of worse friction between father and son, eventually culminating in a terrible fight that ended up with Tomoya’s father badly injuring his right shoulder. Before it, Tomoya had been known to have a very good talent for basketball and was watched with interest. After it...Basketball vanished into the mists of the past.
Another outlet of happiness. Gone.
First it was his mother, then his childhood friend (though that was arguably his own doing), his father acting like one, and now basketball. They kept piling upon each other with no sign of letting up. Something Tomoya Okazaki likes to silently keep track of.
As for the resolution of the fight’s effect on his father...Naoyuki regretted his actions but instead of making up for it, he only distanced himself from Tomoya. He stopped involving himself in a fatherly way at all in his life. He stopped talking to him normally, sounding more like a polite stranger than a relative. Let alone a father. In Tomoya’s eyes...
He stopped caring.
It has affected him greatly. It was the last blow needed to kill his drive for anything. And now he simply goes to school, late every time of course, then eventually skips class and does not much at all afterwards.
He hates the city. He hates the school. He hates home. To the point where he avoids going ‘home’ at all. Only when in need of sleep, which is more often than not...at a very late hour due to his aversion.
Though he hates his school and most of what goes on within it, he did meet the person who is easily his best friend. Youhei Sunohara. A fellow delinquent who had his own problems with the Soccer Club he was originally in and now in a similar situation as him. It was because of his old home room teacher, Toshio Koumura, that he 'accidentally' met up with him in front of the school office. It is only because of him, and a bit because of Koumura-Sensei that young Mr. Okazaki is even still there. It makes life bearable.
When he's off, skipping class, it's usually with his comrade in arms, Sunohara. Constantly pranking others or each other and doing whatever they feel like. Though, due to some contrasts in their personalities, they're not always on the same wavelength.
And so far the third year of High School began like any other, and yet something feels like there could be change in some form on the horizon. The question remains however:
What is that change exactly?
There is a chance it could reside within one of his most recent friends. Nagisa Furukawa. A repeating third year student due to lack of attendance from a bad illness that Tomoya met on his way to school on the very beginning of his third year.
Letting his inner selflessness worm its way out, he offered her some advice to her self doubts and then walked with her the rest of the way to the school. Later he saw her eating alone and went to sit next to her, inquiring as to why. This is when he learned she was repeating and didn't know anyone, as well as how she yearned to restart the old Drama Club now defunct.
Taking it upon himself, without really thinking it in these exact terms, to watch over her and help her with her Drama Club Quest, he's doing what he can to aid and has been making more friends because of it, who've also been lending their aid as well, bit by bit.

Seen the Anime/Played the Game?: Seen both Clannad & After Story. Due to the complications of Clannad not being in the US where I am...haven’t played the game. Have not read the light novels either, but if there’s anything different within them, I’m very good at researching.
How Did You Find Us?: Searched ‘Clannad RPG’ into Google for the fun of it and was led into an RPG Directory which led me here. I’m glad this place exists!
Sample RP: I hate this city.
It was the first thought that crossed Tomoya’s mind as he began his climb up the hill toward his High School. Bag clutched in his hand and hung behind him over his left shoulder. His usual way of carrying it.
He looked ahead of him, but didn’t see where he was going. Technically, he didn’t see anything on the material world. His mind was elsewhere and his foots transported him from sheer memory.
I don’t even know why I bother coming to school. What’s the point?
The flash of his father asleep with his head on the living room table, tv playing unaware of none paying it heed, with cans and trash piled around.
“Tch..”
Making a face for a brief instant, he brought his focus back to the hill. His eyes scanning the sakura trees lining the way momentarily. He allowed himself to think them beautiful before he even registered what he was thinking.
Step. Step. Step.
The school was in sight now. Same old sign announcing ‘Hikarizaka Private High School’ at the entrance. Other students of both genders into and out of the school for various reasons. Most were going between classes. He paid them no heed. He was late, as usual, so classes had already started.
I wonder if Sunohara is here yet?
His blue eyes scanned around as he reached the entrance, pausing there but not seeing his friend as of yet. He did notice the wary looks from nearby students out of his peripheral vision and the whispers of ‘Hey, look. Okazaki is late again...’ or ‘It’s the delinquent...’ or similar statements instead.
Again he ignored them; only closing his eyes briefly and then reopening them with a inaudible sigh.
Just another day.
With that, he turned fully back to the entrance and walked through to the courtyard. The first stop. He’d just rest a moment from the walk, maybe take a small snooze, then head to class.
Setting his bag down on the grass surrounding the central tree, he placed his foot up on the edge of stones surrounding it in some kind of natural enclosure. Tomoya began retying his right shoe, thinking about his schedule.
Lets see. The next class at this time is...
Just another boring, damnable day. Tch.
With the soft sound of shoe settling on cement, he set his foot back down and looked around for a moment. Taking in his surroundings. The wind was at a gentle breeze, with only a few clouds in the sky. Man, what a perfect time for a nap. Just a small one, of course.
Within just a few moments, Tomoya was lying on the grass, arms folded underneath his head, eyes closed.
Sunohara, if you arrive now and wake me up with any melodramatics, I swear I’ll...
Despite this thought, he mentally smiled and gently flowed into dreams. In them, he thought himself standing where he was, looking at the school premises all around him. There were faint lights, glowing softly, present. None close to him. And they were all sporadically placed. Some were close to each other, most weren’t. Some were even solitary. Some were in the old building. Some in the new. Even some were moving at a casual pace.
There were about...seven of them or so, perhaps more, it was hard to tell exactly. His vision in the dream was also slightly blurred making it hard to tell. But about seven were there for sure.
He did not know that these lights symbolized the hearts of the girls with whom one...he would be destined with. But which one was it? That was left all up to chance or any power that was out there. Maybe even to the city itself. Ludicrous thought though that was.
What is this...?
“...Okazaki Tomoya sleeping in the courtyard and out of class yet again, hm? You think you’d learn by now, well, come on...wake up. Wake up now.”
Tomoya’s eyes flicked open to the sensation of gentle prodding. When he turned his face to the one before him, he was dismayed to learn that it was Koumura-Sensei. His former Home room teacher.
“Koumura-Sensei?” he replied quizzically, attempting (and failing) at stifling a yawn.
The old teacher gazed at him thoughtfully and kindly, then motioned to the new building of the school with a simple nod of the head.
“Come on then, lets get going.”
“To the Office?” Tomoya asked, knowing the answer.
“Mmhmm. Sunohara Youhei is there too, if I’m not mistaken.”
Tomoya looked in the direction of the School Office, smiling a little. The breeze blowing his hair a little, his former teacher watching him all the while.
“Already, huh?” the student asked whimsically.
“Yes, now get a move on. Come on.”
Slowly, Tomoya stood up and snatched his bag from the grass, stretching a little. When he was done, he began being quietly escorted by the elderly sensei to the Office and to his best friend.
Just another day.
