Face Claim: Kyonko from Suzumiya Haruhi no Seitenkan
Description:
Akin to her cousin, Kojiro, Shoko could be considered, as with most of the Otomo family, to be placed somewhere in the middle, neither extravagant, nor unpretentious. While she is not displeasing to look at, Shoko, at least in her own opinion, does not consider herself to be an extremely beautiful girl. Unlike most of the Otomo family, who are predominantly dark blue-eyed, Shoko's eyes are a light hazel color, and are slightly less angular than the rest of her family's. Shoko's dark brown hair falls into two thick bangs at either side of her face, with the majority of her hair tied up in a high ponytail. Falling loose, her hair manages to barely reach her midsection.
Her fair complexion lends to her delicate, porcelain doll-like figure. Shoko is both very lithe, and rather petite-looking, standing at five foot and three inches tall, and about 110lbs in weight. Shoko's slender limbs, narrow shoulders and small waist further accentuates her fragile appearance. Her nose is small, and slightly concave due to surgery, with visible scaring on the nasal bridge. Shoko is also not particularly curvaceous, her narrower hips, shorter legs, and small bust giving her a cone figure. Despite her frail appearance, Shoko is a very graceful figure skater, and maintains a healthy diet and a dedicated training regime to keep her body fit, and able.
Shoko is typically seen wearing her standard Hikarizaka High junior uniform, with the orange junior shield stitched onto the breast pocket of her jacket, and her sailor-style shirt shoulder. Preferring a longer skirt, she wears knee-high white socks, and the standard brown loafers on her feet.
When outside of school, Shoko prefers light-colored blouses, and skinny denim shorts, with her favored sandals as footwear. Her figure skating attire consists of a light red leotard, worn under a red and black dress.
Personality:

Sarcastic, pragmatic, and often very snarky, Shoko has a tendency to follow the most logical conclusions, and rarely, if never, thinks of many possibilities; if it makes sense, it is right. Shoko maintains decent manners, though is rather indifferent toward others, refusing to be intimidated by aggressive individuals, or swayed by childish behavior. Very good at keeping her temper controlled when under pressure, Shoko refuses to bottle up her feelings until they become unbearable, rather, stating them outright, and to anyone.
She is typically less sarcastic and blunt with family and friends, save for her cousins Koji, and Jun, whom she enjoys teasing and lecturing respectively. Shoko is often commenting on Jun's laziness, and poking fun at Koji due to the majority of his friends being female. Imparting advice to her friends with an almost sage-like wisdom, Shoko is considered to be an exceptionally mature and rational young woman with a clear idea of what she wants from life.
Enjoying the time she spends with friends, Shoko is not typical to warm up quickly toward strangers, people whom she has heard nothing about, or in certain cases, those she has heard a great deal of bad things about. Barely tolerant of the latter kind of strangers, she adapts her logical nature to a tense situation, using every opportunity to blow holes in an argument, whilst she remains cordial to those who do not fall into, as she puts it " The idiot, jerk, or pervert category." She also seems to detest the nickname Sho-chan given to her by her aunt Haruka at a young age.
Though an only child, never having had to share with a sibling, Shoko is anything but greedy, but does not appreciate it when she is the sole contributer to any given workload, particularly the state of Jun's room in their apartment, and the typical abundance of dirty plates in the sink.
History:

Shoko was born on January 4th, to her mother, Rei Otomo, the younger sister of Masato Otomo. Rei, a sufferer of Type I Lobstein syndrome, a moderate case of brittle bone disease. Shoko was finally born after a long, arduous pregnancy that was near-fatal for Rei due to the stress of carrying a child on her brittle bones. Her father, Yukito Aizawa, and Rei's fiancé was the one thing that kept the young mother going. Two and a half weeks overdue, the couple were blessed with Shoko. They married soon afterward, when Rei was sufficiently healed.
Shoko was always smaller than most of her friends, in school, but seemed to have more spring in her step, more agility. It was around the age of four, that she became interested in figure skating, taking it up as a hobby as she progressed into elementary school. It was through figure skating, that she made her tight-knit group of friends, who progressed through junior high with her. Shoko became close with her grandmother, who would often take her to places her mother was unable to, due to her illness. Gleeful at the prospect of more family coming to Hikarizaka, in the form of her uncle Masato, aunt Haruka, and their children, Jun and Kojiro, Shoko added them into her list of close friends and family.
Her uncle Masato, however separated from his wife, leaving Koji and Jun, fatherless, and their mother, forced to cope with raising her two children. Shoko perceived it as an act of cowardice, and immediately located Masato, giving him a piece of her mind. Acting very coldly toward her uncle, she became more sympathetic to Koji, whom she knew was taking the divorce hard. She was, however, unable to see him often, by her own choice, deciding to give him some room, and not coddle the boy with pity. With the end of junior high rapidly approaching, Shoko buckled down to concentrate on her studies, and, after her mother suffered a series of particularly severe fractures in her legs, moved into Jun's apartment until further notice.
Already competing in amateur skating events by the time she had entered high school, being the proud owner of may trophies, something the girl was neither modest, nor smug about, Shoko was enrolled into Hikarizaka High at the start of her freshman year when her family became financially secure enough, and her studies improved. By then, Jun had long since graduated, leaving Koji, in his junior year, as her only family at school. Very few of Shoko's friends made it into the same establishment. Though she did not see much of her cousin during the year due to studies, she, thanks to hard work, has had her workload lightened, and now sees Koji whenever possible, taking every opportunity to tease him about non-existent crushes he has on the girls with whom he associates himself with, blissfully unaware of her cousin's true feelings for another senior. About a month into her junior year, Shoko was involved in an accident with her skating partner, resulting in a broken nose, which require surgery due to the severity of the damage caused by the impact.

Lolling about the apartment on Saturday. It wasn't exactly good weather to be out in, but Sho was considering just slapping on a rain jacket, and braving the elements. Besides, her skin was waterproof. Her hair was untied, and fell lazily about her shoulders as she flicked through one of the many music magazines belonging to Jun, most of which were strewn about the floor. She had little else to do but read, or watch some bad Saturday afternoon t.v. It was either read, or go for a walk in the pouring rain. Just then, Jun himself poked his head in through the door frame. He was dressed for the weather. Looked like he was going out, no doubt to practice with his band. Koji was probably already there, sucking up to Rumi to teach him a new trick.
"I'm heading out for practice. I'll bring back something for dinner later."
Predictable...
Sho stared at him blankly, unnerving her elder cousin with an icy glare. The prospect of junk food didn't seem very appetizing to the young girl, comfortably sat on the sofa. She'd been living with her cousin for several weeks now, letting her mother get some much-needed rest after a series of particularly nasty fractures in both legs.
"Junk food? Again? You'll start to get fat you know, and you never clear up afterward. Have you seek the sink?" She remarked, patting her own stomach as a reminder to watch his weight. Sometimes Jun could be so lazy. If he got fat, then maybe Rumi would knock some sense into him to get more exercise. If she wanted to, she could wrap Jun around her little finger. Sho felt it'd do him some good, other than screeching into a microphone, whilst equally-screechy guitars wailed behind him. She hoped the younger brother picked a less... Noisy genre.
"Look, I don't have time to cook anything. Besides, we got rejected from another record company I'm a little down in the dumps this week, so I'll get some junk food to clear the blues away." He responded, withdrawing his head, but not before Sho could get in the last word.
"Tastes like it came from one sometimes." Sho huffed, rolling her eyes before returning to the not-quite-so-riveting article about how one could become a guitar master in six easy steps. Easy. Nothing in life worth doing was easy.
